Honestly? I hope he experiences the rapture he craves so very much so he can leave the rest of us in peace.

Ever see those grey, dried-out, wadded-up paper towels in the trash can by the sink? Harold Camping`s brain is like that.

Has anyone considered that the rapture actually happened but only a couple of righteous people were taken? Look at how many of us were left behind!
On the other hand look at the bright side...No more Jehova`s witnesses will knock on our doors!

Again! it states in the Bible "no one shall know the date or time"
This guy is constantly backpedaling. Some one tell him enough is enough already! He`s already done enough damage to the christian image.

I never would have put my money on "It really did happen." "Miscalculation," maybe, or "God spoke to me and moved the date," but not this.
Why does anyone pay this old fart any mind in the first place?

I wonder if the lady that tried to kill her two daughters because of his stupidity "bothers him at all". What a jackwipe.

It`s like he hasn`t even read the bible. The book says only God knows when the end of the world comes!!

And there will still be people stupid enough to give him all their money. Has no one ever asked him why he needs a net worth of 73 million dollars AND donations if the world is about to end?

I bet you now, that if Camping was dead, half of the apocalypse predictions would be gone and all of the rapture predictions would be gone.

We shouldn`t ignore him. He needs more attention. Setting a date is not a ridiculous thing to do, it is believing that there is a god who will rapture you and end the world; that is the ridiculous thing to believe. If you already believe that, how much sillier is it to put a date to that. The more attention he gets the more cognitive dissonance it creates with Christians who already believe the absurd bits.

@Comagirl123 I don`t think he will, the guy is a proud and stubborn idiot. Although he says he was wrong, he then backtracks and says he was actually right and `spiritually` things have changed, that May 21st was just the beginning.

WTF is he talking about, at what point was the world not in a `bad ` position, earthquakes, global warming, mass famine, children dying in poverty. It is ridiculous to say that this is a new phenomenon, were just more exposed to it in the west nowadays, because of the growth of mass media

@Draculya: Just because one believes in the word of God, doesn`t mean they`ll believe anything. I`m sure that jerk had many people (believer and non) believing in the rapture nonsense.

Why do people continue to give him attention? Every person who has thoroughly read the Bible knows that Jesus said that not even he knows when God will bring judgement upon mankind. He calls himself a christian but he obviously hasn`t even read all of the Bible...All he`s doing is screwing with a lot of mis-guided souls and making Christianity seem like its all a big joke.

I bet there are a bunch of people gullible enough to fall for it from the same guy three times (was it `92 or `94 last time?). If you`ll believe Genesis, Revelations and all the gumpf between them, you`ll believe anything.
Is it not enough they have swindled millions of dollars from people? Entire life savings? Homes?
Not really. That money was invested more or less into advertising how stupid he and his followers are... with a little convenient spillover into other christian denominations.

The fact that people lost a lot of money I see as a good thing. More like Darwinism in action. Just in a very mild way.
one mother attempting to murder her daughters over this?
The kids are safe and the mother is in prison. That is all that matters. Other than that, one data point does not create a statistic.

Overall I`m not angered so much by this. It would be more interesting if there was more drama involved, like lawsuits flung either way, other denominations and cults joining in, counter-protests, etc. etc. All getting exposure.

I predict a large percentage of his `followers` will nod and fall right in line with his Plan B date.

Because stupid people rarely learn any lessons.

Is it not enough they have swindled millions of dollars from people? Entire life savings? Homes?

Is it not enough that there were suicides, and one mother attempting to murder her daughters over this?

Is it not enough that when given facts and evidence that they are proven wrong time and again?

So much rage.
