Yea, I`ll probably just stick with Norton. It may be an alarmist program, but it works well and it`s free. Besides I`m a bit of an alarmist myself so I can`t hold it against it!

I use Malwarebyte`s Anti-Malware for spyware, although malware is extremely unlikely to be allowed to run on my machine anyway. I`ve never had any scanner find any malware unless I deliberately put it on my machine to test the scanner.

TeaTimer from Spybot will prevent unauthorised changes to your registry. Maybe that`s what you had before.

Caveat: Norton is notorious for clashing with other security software. Use at your own risk.

Or just stick with Norton if you`re happy with it.

@Angellion Thankfully I have Norton free through Comcast so they don`t need to impress me! I may check out some of those programs though and see what they have to offer. I`m very leary though because I do a lot of online sales stuff through eBay and I have to have absolute security on my computer, no spyware! I used to have a beautiful program that blocked any unauthorized changes to my registry, but unfortunatley I lost that when my last computer`s battery started smoking...
NotTHATbored: Which site triggered the alarm?

That page attempts to run 79 scripts from 18 different websites.

@Angilion You know, the site with the boobs, that one! LOL!
The page with the boobs runs scripts from 18 *different* websites.
Norton didn`t even tell me that it was scripts that it was blocking, it just told me that it was blocking "attacks" which honestly scared the poo out of me!
It`s not uncommon for security software to simplify and dramatise their reports. Especially large commercial software, so you think you`re getting your money`s worth and you`ll pay again next year.

I use NoScript for monitoring script use because it gives me information and control. Also, it`s free. I also use Avast! and Zone Alarm. Free stuff is generally single-purpose, so you need several bits of software to be fully covered.

@MCMXCIII The ads are already blocked for me, it`s just that my anti virus is complaining because it feels "attacked".

Now stop complaining that I am complaining about ads, I am not. Thank you.

@Plague555 I believe it`s on auto-update, but I honestly don`t have a clue when the last time that was...O.o

@Angilion You know, the site with the boobs, that one! LOL! Yea I don`t know what it was, I have my actual internet settings pretty tight when it comes to running scripts. Don`t know why, it just seemed like a good setting to change. Norton didn`t even tell me that it was scripts that it was blocking, it just told me that it was blocking "attacks" which honestly scared the poo out of me!

NotTHATbored: Which site triggered the alarm?

That page attempts to run 79 scripts from 18 different websites. I`ve no doubt that if you let them run they will open some more too - that usually happens.

That`s not hugely unusual behaviour. Many pages run numerous scripts from numerous sites. It`s quite surprising when you first install the software to show it.

It`s possible that a dodgy advert from one of the sites was being displayed when you visited the page and that`s why you got a warning and other people didn`t - either it had been removed or it wasn`t one of the selection of ads fed to the other visitors.

It`s also possible that it was spawned from a site that the other visitors had blocked anyway.

NotTHATbored Norton sucks, try a new antivirus. I was all over the site and was fine. Kapersky allowed the boobage.

***Dislike this site.*** Norton had to block several attempted attacks on my computer. I suggest you Google "underboob", or actually maybe whole boob? It`d probably be safer.
