There`s no way the western world is going to get away with this without some kind of retaliation. We`re in the calm before the storm. Enjoy it.

Why? First of all, their funding has completely evaporated. They now can`t afford a paper clip gun if they wanted.
Second of all, while his loyal servants were cowering in caves, drinking their own piss, willing to do his bidding, he was living in a mansion, drinking champagne, and smoking fine cigars. How many will continue to support his legacy?
He died the way he lived: A greedy coward, no better than the people he opposed.

I`ll rejoice the revenge killing of a mass murderer. Dare I say MLK would as well. I`d bet he was joyful at the news of Hitlers death. You`re not being inhuman, you`re being normal.

And this is the quote from martin luther king it is derived from
"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction." You can Post Quotes all you like if you really think being "Nice" to him would have stopped him.

Hate brings hate true, but it also brings peace at the same time, how many people do you think are out there that are happy he`s gone? One man dies, prople get angry but millions rejoice, humanity will never be at peace with humanity ONE of the many reasons we will always be at war.

Nice try on the spin catzypoo but that`s not the quote attributed to, or repeated by people attempting to emulate MLK by not celebrating the death of a mass murderer. I live in a world where this action is celebrated by normal people. What world do you live in?

@Catzypoo: I didn`t see hate in the streets of the USA when this was announced. I saw love, and thousands of Americans hugged and kissed each other, and showed the love they have to their fellow citizens, and other people of the world that this douche-bag killed.

Oooh, the MLK quote is fake (the plot thickens!). I can`t wait to call out all my fb friends. I think it`s a good quote, nonetheless though. But the thing is- I don`t FEEL that way. I`ve been struggling to feel some kind of empathy for OBL and the fact that he was a human with a soul and whatnot... but mostly, I`m just relieved that he`s gone. I hope that his absence brings people the peace they`ve been looking for.

@baal. I don`t care who said it, I still agree

As for: "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" It`s not exactly an eye for an eye... more like an eye for 6000 eyes.

I`ve also come to realize the practical benefit in his death. Although he might not have been planning anything or been much of a threat anymore, everyone saw him as an icon and thus many are massively affected. It`s not worth the time to get rid of this bias in people. Heck it`s in me too.

Nice to see the underwhelming freedom tower construction is going up nicely.

For those of you that believe the MLK quote is a "Fake" it is not. It was merely misquoted.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction....The chain reaction of evil--hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars--must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

This is the Martin Luther King Jr. quote from Strength To Love, 1963.

the guy was evil, the more deeper you look the more you see that he was a spoilt little brat more than anything else.
6000 eyes? Well what about the countless civilians that have been killed. I am probably going to get slaughtered for this but, I think that war is unessicary to solve anything. I think talk and relations could pretty much if taken seriously and placing value on life of people could be the way forward. Although I think that war is business and business is good so why stop the good times? Osama is dead... so what? He was at this point a poster boy for terrorism... al`queda is still thriving. Argh.... to be honest I could argue this all night. And i have exams tomorrow... :( but, yea, ok Osama dead, meaningless, our outlook and response , probably important think about that...
PS: not claiming to be right, think difference in this world is what makes us beautiful and should be embraced especally diff opinions and ideas(cept when it kills or hurts people etc).

    @JustDani:

While the latter part of the quotation is all King (from his book Strength to Love) the first part was actually from a woman called Jessica Dovey, who expressed her feelings and then followed it with the MLK quote in a Facebook status.

The entire thing was then mistakenly thought to be a King original and away it went, retweeted, reblogged and shared across the web.

How about some pictures of VE or VJ day? There we have people celebrating the vaporizing of entire chunks of a city, I would say celebrating one man`s death is minor in comparison.

What people should realize is that the celebration isn`t for everyone a celebration of the man`s killing, but the celebration of a military victory. This has been done throughout the ages, even when you lose soldiers on your own side. Why? Because people need to celebrate victories or else they lose the will to keep fighting.

For everyone fearing retaliation, do you really think that Al-Qaeda has been waiting for Osama to die before launching their next big attack? If they had the capability to do so, they would. They don`t need another reason. If they haven`t been able to plan a large attack against US soil in 10 years, I doubt they will pull one together in a couple of days or weeks.

Catzy, your view is a great dream, and something we should all aspire to. But it will not work until everyone can agree that it is the way to go. If all of the `good guys` (relative term) put away their weapons, it would only take one `bad guy` to rule.

To paraphrase my buddy Sun, "The best generals win before fighting a single battle, and therefore get the least recognition."

No one wishes for peace more than your average soldier who is taken away from his family to possibly never return. Yet still it is something that they do, so that people who believe as you do can continue to dream of a world without them.
