Well I see there`s the word "DICH" printed in huge letters :) well it`s not what you think IABers! it is the german word for "you" which is used in this add to find new employees to work there. (pretty sure the paycheck is smaller than the small sized fries)

It`s great that so many of our resident IABers are bilingual in English and German. What`s not so great is, that your time would have been better spent learning Chinese.

So what does that word mean?

we are looking up for our kitchen staff and team fund-layer management and trainee at the restaurant or ask if interested. Ah, the beauty of google translate.:-D

@darkhawk
If you spoke German and you read something that said whatever in English but sounded like "Come poo on our chests" in German, you might find it humorous. Also, many Americans know Spanish since Germany`s on the other side of the world and there are no benefits to learning the language of its people.

I assumed it`s pronounced similarly to "We`re sucking dick"... but it apparently means "We`re looking for you (for our team)"

I think the joke is that it looks like it said "dick", took me a few min to see what the supposed joke was tho. Americans, learn a other languish, the rest of the word isn`t laughing =p

@SarahofBorg:

We`re looking for YOU (=dich) for our team.
Nothing raunchy. And a bit far fetched if you ask me, an `h` doesn`t make a `k`... ;-)

This is German. Its a language they speak in the faraway land of "Germany". There are many other lands in the world, each with its own language. (Except America, you stole ours.) I know its confusing but I`m sure you`ll get used to it.

@SwayzeCrazy4: Actually the first line means: We are looking for YOU for our team.

Dich = you in German.
It says Dich, not even D*ck. How stupid is this picture.

Ooh how could I forget: We drove through an Austrian town called drating near Salzburg.
I swear it`s called drating. They had to secure the sign because people kept stealing it.

"We are looking out for our team.

If you are interested in the restaurant or ask."
Yet another IAB secret revealed to the inmates.
Hehe, inmates. I love the anology of I-A-B being pretty much a sanitorium. Sums it up pretty well. To continue the analogy, us Mods are inmates as well, it`s just that we`re inmates who happened to have found the key to the liquor cabinet. It`s all good. Dark, but good.

It probably says:

The grammar is flawless. I don`t think any german would read it like an english-speaker would.

Male 1,452
the grammar of the phrase is a little weird, I think the somewhat inappropriateness of that sign was intentional.

Lame. Like really? Is this the best you can come up with? We are searching you for our team. Job would be in kitchen and at check-out.

A lady was talking to me last week and she pronounced it like that, and it took me like fifteen minutes to figure out who she was talking about. lol

Other funny german words:

Quickborn (city in north germany)

Hamburger Sparkasse (A bank seated in Hamburg)

We have a river named Oder.

And a certain dish called Germknödel.

That`s all I can think of.

Also I loved how an american friend pronounced Goethe like Goatee with th :D .
