@Tieagra Every good military force has bad apples in the bunch. Your country happens to get involved in a lot of these battles, and eventually get caught doing stupid things.

As someone has already mentioned, these men were not soldiers. They have no honor. These were men pretending to be soldiers to satisfy a craving for blood.

...Seriously, is this being brought up only so other people can feel a little bit better about themselves? So they can act all indignant and say "Oh, I would NEVER do that! I am so ashamed of my fellow countrymen, who I now know for certain are all sociopaths."

"This is why everyone hates us."

Perhaps. It`s human nature to think in absolutes and focus on the negatives. Americans are fat, lazy, stupid, self-absorbed consumers, and bloodthirsty warmongers, right? What`d I miss?

On the international stage, these broken people brought shame to our country. drat that and drat those guys. They shamed themselves. That`s not what America was founded on, it`s not what we promote domestically, and it`s certainly not what we`re trying to do abroad. If the world wants to hate the rest of us because some numbnuts from our country went psycho, then I pity humanity because we`re all a bunch of judgemental pricks.

@ Gerry "the solution is not jail time"

I agree 100%, Afghanistan has the death penalty, the crime was committed there, therefore the solution is to put them to death. Nothing less than they deserve.

@wtf "Shut the hell up, you self-righteous prick."

Are you talking to yourself? And did you seriously just say that being appalled by murdering people for fun makes someone "self righteous"? Idiot.

The Afghan war of occupation, is so similar to that video that Wikileaks released about that gunship in Iraq. Same scenario, different country; American soldiers fighting(killing) civilians. If this is documented as/by one group, What to say that other groups in the ranks aren`t doing the same?

What a way to prove that "death squads" actually exist in the United State`s military.

Can`t find that CIA article on American personnel trained to be "death dealers" against "terrorists".

I would also like to remind, that one groups `terrorist`, is another groups `freedom fighters`, for "they" are one and the same. The United States will NEVER be able to claim any sort of victory or conquest. If Americans can`t control their own soldiers, How in hell are you going to get control of another person`s country?

As an Infantry Soldier for the last 22 years, I can say for a fact, since I have been to Afghanistan and Iraq numerous times, we are not all like that and the majority of Soldiers would turn these losers in quickly. Saying that all Americans soldiers are like that is akin to saying all black people are gangsters. Just not correct.

And remember the American Soldiers phone number next time your European country gets invaded. And Canada guy, I`ve met your Soldiers and they are just like us, mostly good dudes trying to do the right thing. And having spent 10 years in Europe, I love the culture, but you folks can`t defend yourselves, mostly because your soldiers are not usually volunteers.

    let`s keep perpective here people.

there are over 1 million people total between all the US branches. Most of them are hard at working keeping your safe and comfy in your little chair that you are sitting in while reading this.

many of them have died or have been maimed while doing so.

what these idiots did was terrible and they should all been in jail for life but DO NOT feel like this gives you license to say all US troops and military personal are terrible people.

if you are American, you know better, and if you are from another country, just remember, one day the US may SAVE your ass from some dictator or overly aggressive neighbor (think Kosovo).

That being said, this is just one more reason why I strongly dislike the U.S. The war in general and what it is doing to people everywhere throughout the Arab Nations and the world. Those responsible for wrong doing will be held accountable by not only the military, but by their fellow soldiers and the citizens of the USA.

The military of the USA is a group of volunteers that care for the freedom of all people.

They are not perfect, because they are people, and people make mistakes.

Thank you to our military that does their job everyday without scandal and dishonor.

The soldiers are being discharged and facing life in prison or the death penalty already. This kind of stuff shouldn`t be put in the news.

As an American, it sickens me to see that this cruel, heinous, disgusting abomination ever happened or continues to happen. For those not from the US, American citizens are not being represented well by our leaders-- a majority of us have similar feelings about the war and foreign policy of the past handful of administrations.

The whole point is not to go down to their level.
The conflict is between the US military and insurgents, not just random afghan civilians.
They don`t have anything to do with it. Once the US advocates killing civilians, they lose a lot of allies and are considered the enemy.

Oh don`t worry you`re countries are going to get a chance to step up for once real soon what do you think the UN has their nose in Libya for.I seem to recall a bunch of other revolutions in this area didn`t get support from the UN for some reason. Europe uses oil too but I guess it`s only ok to critisize other countries and not see yourself doing the same. The way the UN leads things this should turn into quite the abortion.
