@ggolbez: "Another animated film showing extreme cynicism towards the human race. Don`t we just love to hate ourselves?"

You missed the point, which is a bit subtle. Clearly the last human in existence was murdered by the weird fish men. It shows that humans are way too gullible to survive.

Water is the largest resource we have, the problem lies in potable water. Currently areas around the world are gearing up and some areas are already in fights over the ability to access drinkable water.
Techniques used to refine the water we have rely on heavy energy in order to create potable water from the sea water. It is not an efficient process.
I`m not going to say people don`t have a right to buy water bottles or use water as they may, but they need to understand there is a definitive cost that is coming a lot closer for our generations.
Also, it`s not entirely the usage of water that`s the issue but how we`re effecting our current resources. Scientific resources upon scientific resources discuss the fallout of our effects of anthropogenic behavior on our drinking supplies.

water isn`t so much renewable, more that it just isn`t used up. We don`t actively destroy water, just move it around

Yes it is. Where do you think it goes after you flush the toilet or take a shower? Mars?

Better than I expected!! Well worth watching IMHO.

yes it IS highly cynical about humanity. That we`d wipe out an environment that held other sentients? Not likely. At least the fat guy did the right thing, there`s hope for us yet!

It`s rotten leadership that`s gotten us in trouble throughout the ages. Individual humans are (usually) really nice.

... Why do the fish have arms and legs if they can`t breath outside of water? Evolution fail.
