That`s real a stretch there dude.

That`s about as connected as Peter King could be with the IRA.

jtrebowski: Mob Dealings ? Do you seriously want to go there ? How about this mob connection, Rod Blagojevich (convicted) ---> Tony Rezko (convicted) ---> Barrack Obama.

Then Obama has his cabinet member Rahm Emanuel switch places with former mayor Richard Daley.

The cronyism and mobsterism of the Obama administration makes any other pale in comparison.

@xavroche- Obviously? Reaaaly... The U.S. Foreign Affairs Manual states that children born in the Panama Canal Zone at that time became U.S. nationals without citizenship. U.S.C. § 1403, the legislation I was referring to grants retroactive CITIZENSHIP. It also states in general that "it has never been determined definitively by a court whether a person who acquired U.S. citizenship by birth abroad to U.S. citizens is a natural-born citizen." The U.S. Senate approved a non-binding resolution recognizing McCain`s status as a natural-born citizen in April 2008. No other NATURALIZED citizens were covered in this resolution, and without it he would have been ineligible. Natural-Born citizen is not the same as Citizen. That`s why PotUS is the ONLY government office that requires natural-born.
GoogleFu does not equal even a `first` year constitutional law class. hint, hint.

"McCain would NOT be eligible as he was NATURALIZED."

Sigh...

1)McCain was the Republican presidential candidate in the last election... obviously he is eligible...
2)McCain was a natural born citizen... Through jus sanguinis, and not because of having been born in Panama. Had he been born in Germany(for example), while his parents were deployed there, it would have been the same thing.
3)The legislation you are referring to, which wasn`t relevant anyway, was retroactive, so it would have affected someone born in 1936... so even there you fail....

PS- these aren`t things that I intrinsically know, I just take a minute to fact check.... FYI I use google.... hint, hint....

@97e4ad- America is the continent (like Asia). North America consists of the United States and 22 other sovereign countries plus 26 dependent territories. Any clerk that put `American` as an entry on an official form would lose their job. That`s why his says Kenya beside fathers place of birth instead of Africa and Kansas beside mothers.
And YES, GW had to provide a birth certificate, military records, college transcripts, ect. McCain would NOT be eligible as he was NATURALIZED.( Even tho both parents were citizens) The Panama Canal Zone was leased property at the time of his birth, and the law that made Canal Zone children Natural-Born didn`t happen until a year after his birth. Facts peoples, they bees yo freends.

British East Africa was the colony. "Kenya" was the region in it, and was thought of like a country, because it BEA was so frikkin` huge, and because each region was administered separately.
Just like...
United States is the country. Everybody who lives there, and most people elsewhere call it "America." A clerk in a foreign nation would be more likely to call it "America" on a form, even though that would open it up to arguments later from bigots, who might say that "America could mean anywhere in the hemisphere!" And they`d be wrong.
The question should be, why hasn`t every political candidate been required to show his birth certificate? Because this is the only who isn`t white.
And lots of democracies have elected foreigners. Look up Fujimori, dumbass.

"it is required by the constitution, that anyone to be president must be born in America."

No it`s not.... In fact John McCain was not born in America.... You only have to, among other things, be a natural born citizen to be eligible for the office of POTUS....

On a side note, it`s kind of sad that, already being on the internet, people can`t take two seconds to check their facts before posting...

Let`s summarize many topics regarding this.

Not a BO supporter ~ skeptical and no trust in what he says, does, or is.

A BO supporter ~ doesn`t care, and believes anything he says, does, or is.

Got it!

[quote">The document smells like a phony. Layered up with a PDF program.[/quote">

Only to people who don`t know anything about how printed forms are scanned into a computer-based system and who are somehow willing to believe that 3 years isn`t enough time to avoid such a silly mistake in a forgery. Anyone who has at least half of a vague idea about image manipulation wouldn`t make such a stupid mistake.

You layer a scan so that you can create a machine-readable copy of the data on the printed form. If you don`t do that, you have to create a seperate database structure and manually enter every piece of data from every form. Obviously, it`s much better to do it the first way.

If you spend any time looking into it, any time at all, even 30s on the net, you`ll find that is the case. People asking how to do it easily, software tools to do it easily, etc.

@yeayeayea23- Give me facts. Prove that your mothers nationality grants you her nationality.

BTW, some of you non B!rthers use B!rther on this site. I can call my friends B!rth`a` with an A, as in `What up my Birtha!` or `Birtha pleeze!!` but when you say B!rth`er` with an ER it is an offensive slur that insinuates anyone with questions about Obama is one. WE prefer to be called `Concerned-Americans`.

first off, cheaters don`t always get caught. remember the second time bush was `elected`? wait, they were caught, it`s just that the people who could`ve done something about it decided it wasn`t worth their time to investigate further and prosecute for voter fraud or whatever it is. money can buy elections, it not a new concept -but when the friends and family of the idiot running are major shareholders in the companies that produced the voting machines and still no one wants to investigate THAT, when it`s THAT f`n obvious, conflicts about things like birthplace fall way short of really mattering. politicians everywhere will always lie because it`s necessary for the job. but maybe it`s the american soil that producing these horrible polticun+s....if so, BRING ON THE FOREIGNERS!!! they already own the u.s. they may as well run it locally.

@yeayeayea23, He would be a citizen, that`s correct. But according to the constitution you have to be a natural born citizen to be president. Which is what the birth certificate shows.
Honestly I think this was put in the constitution on fear of Britain coming in and ruling over the US through our own government. Our government is a set of checks and balances and this is probably just another the founding fathers put in... a just in case clause.

@readyfisher, it was proclaimed the Republic of Kenya in `64, in 1920 it became the colony of Kenya

http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/British_East_Africa

I friggin lived there, I would know

@readyfisher

good research there. a simple wikipedia search proves you wrong.

it ceased being known as British East Africa in 1920 at which point it became known as Colony and Protectorate of Kenya; 2 years after Obama`s birth, the country gained its independence and was just known as Kenya. Looking at his father`s past and religion, I don`t find it hard to believe he, or other rebels, would refer to the country as Kenya, the name it adopted after revolution/independence.

it would be like someone born in Boston, and part of the rebels in america, referring to the country as america instead of the british colonies in 1775

"he has been running the country for 3 years"

math much?

he was elected in 2008, his term didn`t start until 2009; its now 2011 (near the beginning of it as well) thus he has been running the country for 2 years and a few months, his term is only 1/2 over and thats assuming he doesn`t get re-elected. its apparently much easier to get re-elected as getting through the RNC and DNC is one of the toughest parts

Here`s a wacky question: How could it be possible in any way, shape or form, for a man ineligible to be president to HAVE BEEN ELECTED president of the United States of America? THE U S OF A?

He has faced insane amounts of opposition while in office, that must have been tenfold while running-- therefore if he was in fact NOT born in America, HE WOULD NOT BE PRESIDENT. The government would not have stood for it-- his opposition would not have stood for it. He`s a freaking citizen, and has been running the country for 3 years, let it go. How about focusing on actual problems-- criticize his decisions as president. What is the point in this ridiculous birther nonsense when it`s practically the end of his term? The stupidity boggles my brain.

If Hawaii had not been a state in 1961, Obama would still have been a natural born citizen of the USA because it was a territory belonging to the USA.

Puerto Rico is not a state, but its residents are citizens of the United States because Puerto Rico is a territory.

Male 1,587
That is really interesting. Not the whole thing, I never thought about Hawai`i possibly not being a state at the time of his birth. Would he still be a citizen if it was not? It was a territory, and how does that fit into being born a citizen?
