That recipe sounds like a splitting migraine / vomit inducing roostertail

I`m going to favorite this page for the comments, very instructive indeed.
I used to do vinaigrette and drink it solo.
olive oil, good vinegar, salt, pepper, crushed garlic and sometimes french mustard from dijon.
but water is the most important.

Step 1: Don`t drink beyond your current tolerance limit (aka binge drinking) Step 2: Eat a meal after you`ve been drinking (high in fat, protein and carbs - Burgers! Pizza! Fried Chicken!) Step 3: Keep at least 32 ounces of ice cold water by your bed for when you wake up periodically with cotton mouth (the water should be gone by the time you get out of bed in the morning). Step 4: Sleep with the air conditioning on high or with the heat off (regulating your body temperature while you`re asleep keeps your metabolism going to transform the dirty stuff into pee). This from a borderline functional alcoholic.

Depends on the hangover.
Light hangover: Tequila sunrise (great for marathon drinking, vacations, etc) and an omelette.
Medium hangover: Coca-Cola and greasy food.
Heavy hangover: Watered down orange juice and Advil. Food later...

How about not drinking excessively? You should be concerned about taking enough of a highly toxic drug to be suffering poisoning from it the next day.

If you do, then the key point is rehydration. Your body will have been desperately mining your water reserves to try to flush as much of the poison out as possible, so you will be dehydrated.

Eggs and bananas help for some reason. I don`t remember what off the top of my head.

Found it. Bananas contain quite a bit of potassium, which you`ll be short of because you`ll have lost a fair bit of it peeing a lot. Eggs contain cysteine, which breaks down one of the toxic by-products of alcohol digestion.

Don`t try more alcohol, because it makes you feel better for a short while and then much worse afterwards. So unless you intend to remain drunk until you die, it`s a bad idea.

I don`t think there is any sure fire way to cure a hangover. I don`t soup is an exception to that either.

@fancylad I may be weird but fast food is the last thing I want if i`m hungover! Carb craving totally, but just masses of toast does the trick not fried chicken.

I love soup. I make a soup like this fairly often. It freezes ok, but its best warmed back up on the stove.

The real question is: Can you freeze this stuff?

`Cause I`m pretty sure someone with a hangover isn`t gonna want to be bothered with all the work and noise it`d take to make this, while they have the hangover...

Just saying.

I`m seriously impressed with the exercise option a lot of people seem to go for (although totally understandable), pajamas, crap tv and the bacon and tea I mentioned earlier is all I manage usually.

I`m surprised no one`s mentioned good old fashion crappy fast food. There`s a place by my house called Jon`s Burgers that has a masterful breakfast burrito. I still have a hangover after I`ve eaten one, but it throws me into a food coma and I`m able to sleep for a few more hours, thus sleeping off the hangover. Presto.

Food and exercise is certainly the best way to see off a hangover- but these days I prefer not to have to! Nowadays they get worse as the day goes on.

Gatorade (cut with water), aspirin, cheez-its. Lots and lots of cheez-its. And then cartoons and a nap.

I was almost positive the last step would have been

"Resume drinking"

Maybe thats just my personal cure

3 ibuprofen and 3 Flintstones vitamins immediately before going to bed. It has rendered me hangover free on mornings where I literally was not certain whether or not I would be alive in the morning.

Quickest end to a hang over was Ice climbing, drinking with the locals till 4am then up at 7am to walk into a snow storm , didn`t end up climbing and a small avalanche happened on a different slope but never had my head cleared quicker.

But generally when i get in finish about a liter of water, then take some ibuprofen and wake up feeling fine. Preemptive treatment people

A bottle of coke, a pint of water, a cup of tea, a cup of coffee and a proper fry up: Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Tomato, Black Pudding, Bubble, Hash Browns, Beans, Fried Slice.

Followed by throwing most of it back up into the street and then sitting in the pub half napping whilst nursing a pint for an hour.

Lots of Gatorade, followed by ginger ale and buttered cornbread or mac and cheese. Taking a nice, slow walk helps, too.

who`s going to be arsed making that with a hangover? Butter some bread, grill some bacon, get the kettle on for a cup of tea and there you go.

I thought a dutch oven was the act of holding the blankets over a woman`s head and trapping her there after you fart. After that your relationship has reached the ultimate level of "closeness".

the best remedy for a hangover is about six slices of white bread, butter, three ibuprofen, and a big bottle of blue gatorade. You`ll be feeling chipper in no time

Water and excerise followed by sleep is the only combination that`ll get rid of a hangover. A more realistic meal the morning after the night before is pot noodle on toast, seriously, I wouldn`t be arsed to put that much effort into making breakfast even if I was feeling healthy and energetic, let alone dieing with a hangover.

Not only would I not feel like doing all that prep and cooking, with a hangover, I think all that meat and thickened sauce would make me feel like puking. I`ll pass on this "remedy".

you best get ya mum to make that. i don`t see how anyone can be bothered to do all that prepping with a hangover. not to mention pre shopping before a night out to get all that crap.
