I believe the video, but that does not grant absolution to all the members of Anonymous for possible involvement. I do support Anonymous, however, regardless of their being involved or not.

The Xbox Live proponents seem to forget a network failure around Christmas of 2008 that resulted in Xbox Live being offline and online (mostly offline) for a period of two weeks (including early 2009). There is no point in arguing superiority of one or the other`s stability.(I own and enjoy both systems, so I won`t debate the superior) This is merely a matter of security.

Anonymous aren`t ones to back down from claiming responsibility for attacks, I believe them. Besides, I`d assume most of Anonymous plays PS3, can`t see them taking PSN down.

Personally I agree with most of what Anon does. And when the internet war for free speech finally kicks off we`ll be glad they were prepared.

So, at the risk of being stoned for my ignorance, let me get this straight. Basically anonymous is saying that they didn`t do it, but could have if they wanted to?

I actually wondered for a moment if Sony caused the problem themselves to turn their users against Anonymous.

You guys are retarded microsoft is the most widely used and therefore the most widely attacked. PSN gets attacked once and you idiots seem to forget all the times Windows has been hacked and how many viruses it`s had. Xbox my ass. The only reason Xbox is better in numbers is because of all you idiots who buy a new xbox because the old one`s disc tray broke, or it redringed, or the hard drive failed or the power plug died. C`mon grow a brain and stop jumpin on the Xbox bandwagon.

This is BS, just like the crap with WBC. Personal army requests on various IRC channels have been calling out anons, forwarding the IP and links to LOIC. This is anonymous, and always has been... now it just seems as if some "higher ups" feel like denying it for some strange reason. Its also fairly easy to make a video like this, I can do it in about a minute, saying the exact opposite thing. Anonymous as a whole is just a couple million unorganized geeks, there is really no structure or chain of command.

Our 3 weapons are suprise, stealth and hacking. Now are 4, our 4 weapons are Fear, Suprise, Stealth and hack... We will come back in again.
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!.. wait no we are Anon, okay lets try it again.

Theres something sinister about PC gamers. Hacking and glitching make other "non-tweakers" suffer. I prefer the freedom of the Xbox controller. And a stable network. (ouch PS3 owners)

@IRockYeah

Xbox has a better interface, but both online experiences are poo. Play PC with friends and choose to ban the 10 year old kids that constantly whine and moan, and everything is so much better.

Yeh but each ps3 will have a few different users, multiple accounts etc.. :)

"With a network of around 75million players"

That`s funny, seeing as how there have only been about 35 million PS3`s sold so far.

"You should have expected us." Well that would mean they`ve given up their only advantage in their arsenal... surprise and stealth... okay, two advantages; surprise, stealth... and hacking... (any self respecting geek can, hopefully, see where this is going).

@TKD_Master, along with Bin Laden.... I don`t think they do, as many know the cyber world is too much for the FBI...

Sony are A-hoels and deserve all the crap they get. While I feel bad for the users, remember you`re getting a second grade, crappy online experience because its free. If you want a better network, go Xbox Live.

I still think the Sony outage isn`t related to anon, as others have said they would have been blasting that sort of "win" all over the `net.
Does make you wonder though why is Sony so weak? With a network of around 75million players you would have thought it would stand up to anything, after all Amazon only fell for a few hours.

Still bugs me when people claim that anon is a "club" with members. Not questioning the validity of this.. but partaking in moral and global justice unbias by conventional institutions such as banks, governments and corporations has little if anything to do being a part of a club. All people should do what they feel is right, and do what they feel would better our world as a whole, in fact most people do but that doesnt neccessarily support the ideology of everyone. Theres a million wars to wage, pick your battles, pick your conduct and have at it.

@paddy It`s the closest you can really to not having a name. The point of the organization was to not have an identity, and act more of as an entity, that`s why there`s always been such a loose organizational structure up to this point.

Kind of confused as to why "AnonOps" have branded themselves the official Anonymous spokespeople. Kind of beats the whole point of Anonymous in the first place. I`ll give `em this though, they know their stuff. To be so organized yet not get caught yet is outstanding.

I agree entirely. Yet you`d be amazed at how many people still idolate the IRA. Not just in my homeland of Ireland, but also in America, where the majority of their funding comes from...

I don`t get it.

Either I`m missing something and there is actually an important issue here that IAB has overlooked...

OR...

Anonymous is wasting it`s time with console gaming. Aren`t there more important things to do? Wikileaks, are you finished there? How about Libya? How about draw mohammed day? I wouldn`t be surprised if you got in on that one...

But console gaming? Huh?

This group seems rather strange, I mean to say that I only heard about them today and part of me just finds humor in the whole thing. I mean anyone can say that they are in this "secret group". It sounds rather clear that they need to get their fan base in order if another part of the group did something without the main groups approval which was said at 0:05. As Amnesia has taught me, there`s fear in the unknown and once the unknown becomes known there is no fear because you know what to expect. So ... there have my two cents.

@RecycleElf

you have the basic idea right, but you are still being a bit mislead (or misleading).

Not only does this video address exactly what you are saying by stating that it is possible that other anons may have been responsible, AnonOps was not.

i wonder what kind of cell put this message out. there`s no sentrum for anon. it`s a a title that represents something and anyone can claim the title if they follow some guidelines.

but there`s no sentrum. If one bunch of guys say "sorry" then some other guys can respond "never mind those others saying sorry" and it`s all just messed up. lol

Good quality video.

I love how the music is so perfectly in the *background* rather than the *foreground*, where the speech is supposed to be.

I approve.

Direct quote from Sony.

"we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th."

So, the problem is, Sony needs to push the "ON" button!
