PSN into its third day of downtime across the US and Europe. Looks like Sony attracted the wrong kind of attention...

@keith2

the funny thing is that is basically what the supreme court said about apple and jailbreaking their products and the ruled in favor of the people which is why it is perfectly legal to jailbreak your iphones ipods ect. I wonder why this is so diffferent.

These guys are heroes. I believe firmly that when you buy an electronic device, it is YOURS, not theirs. You may jailbreak/hack it all day long. Because it`s YOURS and YOU BOUGHT it. If doing so lets people play free games, so be it. Not the customers problem.

It`s funny they claim they don`t target consumers. It`s like the guy stealing from a business saying he is sticking it to the man. Of course the reality is that in the end it`s the consumer that has to pay more when steals or causes damage. I wonder how they will attack Sony in a way that won`t cost Sony and cause them to defer the cost to the consumers.

No. They said so. They keep repeating it. They usually claim their victories. Were I a hacker who`d just downed a major network, I`d have no trouble claiming it, getting arrested and then working for the Feds for the rest of my life on an inflated salary. Am I missing something?

"I will just be over here laughing while I play Portal 2 on my 360."

Yea, right? I tried the PS3 and it had that outage crap going on so I just fired up the ol` 360 to play some more Portal 2, which is amazing.

<Conspiracy Theory Alert>

What if it`s Sony doing it on purpose to try and get heat on Anon?
What would it accomplish? You tell me. Besides them trying to make Anon look like dinks.

"If it was Anon, i doublt they would keep quite about it. Doesn`t fit their profile. Probably more along the lines that Sony and Valve have some integration issues to sort out but having a scape goat is also good."

One of the comments on the article, which I think sums up this whole bucket of sh*t.

all i see is a bunch of "adults" fighting over a games console... do they not have jobs? im glad i gave up on the whole gaming thing a while back, its just a joke now.

Wow... a bunch of neckbeards are mad at Sony because they cant play pirated games, so they ruin psn for everyone. Total BS...

Anyone claiming this is about OtherOS is naive, and retarded.

I wish someone could find a way to take care of all these idiots.

@ splurb: tbh i dont think they did it either and i dont really care if they did or not...

the only thing im trying to say is that anyone can lie and since that jesus isnt alive anymore/never existed (take your pick) then anyone will. its not a hard choice to make.

again, i dont really think they did it and i dont really care if they did or not

@collegebound: Not saying it`s not possible, but saying it is unlikely. It doesn`t follow their M.O.

When "they" decide to do something, it is at the detriment of "the man" but never the citizens. They may pick on certain individuals, but only when those individuls cross a certain line. Mainly they focus on causing the most harm to large entities while preventing harm to the people those entities are supposed to benefit, but don`t. Like Governments, corporations, etc.

Interesting how the title says " Is Anonymous Behind Playstation Network Outage?"

read the article and you`ll see that they aren`t.

If they really want to get Sony`s attention, they should do what Sony does whenever they update TOS and have patches. make them agree to downloading the patch before logging on and by the time everything is `updated,` everything the normal customer has been missing out on is now on your PS3. Be it emulators with a few classic ps2/1 games, a desktop, or HELL a thousand dollars credit for PSN/store (least of the likely). AHAHA. Top it off with Anon logo, and BOOM. Unlikely? Sure. But one can dream.

Sony, this better be fixed before I get home. *Rage fist* I wonder if PSN needs to be working for me to set up my steam version...

@ splurb ive already seen the story. they claim they had nothing to do with it but anonymous has enough members and pro hackers one of them could just say drat it and go ahead with taking it down. i was just saying that if they DID do it i dont think its right that innocent people are being punished for it.

@fatninja: i own both systems and i gotta say that the xbox is funner. just personal preference i guess...

heres to hoping that microsoft doesnt piss off anonymous if they ARE responsible for the PSN downtime...

Bull x-box will never compete with ps3, only people with x-box`s are the people who regretted it and really wanted a ps3 and dont admit it. :P

Which tells me you didn`t read the article or watch the video. Did you just read the headline... is that it?

Anonymous is much much more powerful than they are getting crefdit for. I have been following their progression from Forchand and Dusty to the Liberation of Egypt, Bahrain and Libya. Their hands are in it all...

Playstation is only used by little kids whose parents bought it because they didn`t get the memo several years ago that Xbox took over.
