This makes a good point, although, I don"t necessarily believe the first part is correct.

paper duck. you not getting the point man. if you have a genetic trait that you can pass on that enables you to have a higher chance of passing on your genes and reproducing. then obviously the generations that come will gradually have a higher and higher percentage that carry this trait.

hey IAB, if you post a person`s webcomic, how `bout making the image a link to the actual comic? usually there`s other stuff, like XKCD`s opt text. Would be nice, and maybe gives the artist a little bump. Also, helps explain confusing-ass comics like this one.

Bakeybake: The percentage of who the father will be is 50% if two men mate with the same woman regardless. There`s nothing magical about it.

If you go read this on smbc-comics.com the artist provides a link explaining the humor behind the comic. Its basically an evolutionary "ha ha christians are dumb" joke.

- paperduck. i dont think your understand it. It doesnt need to do it anymore because we dont really have survival of the fittest in such aggresive forms. theres still plenty of species out there that do that. and remember the residual bellend didnt just form and suddenly pop into existance with modern man. regardless of its use today its most likely a residual feature left from a previous ancestor.

yeh there are hundreds of millions of sperm. but think how often chicks get pregnant in the case of unprotected sex. not alot. now imagine if you could magicly lower the prvious mates chances to 50% less. that mean you have 50% better chance for your genes to carry open. now imagine 100000 generations. which one do you think will still be around. the one with 50% less or the one making them 50% less?

The head`s probably more pleasurable for women. Dudes with better-feeling junk get to have more sex. The end.

This hypothesis on the shape of a penis is awful. First of all, there are hundreds of millions of sperm cells in an ejaculation, I doubt the sloppy seconds man`s penis extracts them to any significant degree, i.e. you only need 1 sperm cell.

Secondly and maybe more importantly, that would mean the mushroom shape would extract his own ejaculation too if he keeps going after coming, which of course happens. Which would be counterproductive to the so-called mushroom shape explanation.

Dragonfly penises are even more hardcore. They are covered in tiny spikes, and literally SCOUR the vagina to remove sperm.

Is there so little material to post on I-A-B that you have to resort to posting comics that come out the same day?

"Furthermore around 80-85% of societies allow polygamous marriage."
Does getting a divorce and marrying another person count as polygamy?
Because I think it should.
A truly monogamous society would allow only one spouse.

Just finishing off my final year dissertation on the evolution of Monogamy!! The idea of humans being monogamous is a social construct developed over thousands of years, whereas the morphology of the penis is due to changes in biology which has taken millions of years! Furthermore around 80-85% of societies allow polygamous marriage.
