most likley because they already selected to install the ask toolbar. This is a separate installation specifically for the nero ask toolbar only.

What? It`s an installation window for Nero Ask Toolbar, if you didn`t want to do that you would click X. Pretty dratin obvious you can`t proceed with the installation without saying that`s what you want to do.

I don`t get it... surely he is trying to install the Nero Ask Toolbar. That`s what the installation process is...

No, as many has said before me, if you want Nero Lite, you MUST install the Ask toolbar. Made me pirate the full version instead.

I assumed he was trying to install it not that it was making him?

@Thetas No, you are very clearly wrong. All anyone needs to do to prove you are wrong is read the title, and it says "Installation of Nero Ask Toolbar" if he was trying to install a different program, and would not let him install that without this toolbar, then indeed that would be a douche move.

But this is the program the user meant to install as indicated by the title. You shouldn`t assume IAB`ers would be blind to this kind of thing.

@Thetas the titlebar actually says Toolbar not searchbar. so the reason he cannot uncheck it is cuz it`s the license agreement for the application he is trying to install.

unchecking it,is like hitting cancel

ok..i think i can explain...a trick some installers play is this:

when you run the install program for product X, it which starts with a screen asking you do you want to install product Y, with an `install` and `cancel` button. few read the text, they head straight for the Install button - thinking they`re installing product x.

you then reach the product Y install screen - such as the one pictured by OP and realise you`re being asked all these install questions about product Y. Naturally, you`re confused, think you never asked for product Y, and post your pics on i-am-bored.

The `correct` thing to do is to hit "CANCEL", "EXIT" or similar on the first screen, which closes the install of product Y, revealing the install screen for product X, the product you actually set out to install, below.

All of you people saying it`s stupid because the title says that he`s trying to install the toolbar, WRONG. The titlebar says searchbar installer because that`s where he`s at in the installation process. He`s installing Nero Tools not Nero Search Bar.

You may hate steam, but my game library is currently at $1500 worth of games for about $200, thanks to steam. So I`ll keep enjoying it.

But if you unselect it, you are rejecting the Terms and saying you don`t want to install the toolbar .... end of installation process. What would be the point of being allowed to uncheck the box?
Nero Lite (a free version) FORCES the installation of the ASK toolbar.
The don`t use it. There are a ton of programs that do the same thing, for free, without forcing crapware onto your PC.

The only reason people deal with crap like what`s in this post is pure laziness.

And F*CK THIS F*CKING TOOLBAR IAB. Seriously, what the f*ck is this crap that I can`t select any more than, like, 30 letters without some stupid f*cking "share through Meebo" thing popping up and ruining my copy/paste?

Chrome won`t allow toolbars anyway. At least mine refuses to do so.

Man, I`ve somehow got the Ask toolbar installed, and it will NOT let me uninstall it. I`ve tried the built-in Add/Remove program, and Revo Uninstaller, and asked Google...all to no avail.
Seriously, f-ck these people that force you to install or use programs you don`t want, and then won`t allow you to remove it from your machine...it`s like my computer isn`t mine, then.

Nero Lite (a free version) FORCES the installation of the ASK toolbar. That is what the poster is trying to convey by showing a checkbox that cannot be unchecked.

Well, why would you want to unselect the installation of something you`re installing?

Male 96
It looks like the installer for said toolbar to me. So it makes sense that you would want to install it if you`re installing it. "installation of Nero Ask Toolbar" kinda gives it away.

Am I missing something here?

If you`re running the Nero Ask Toolbar installation program, haven`t you already chosen to install it? Presumably the option to un-select it is active when it`s included with the installation of other software.

I must be missing something- the whole window is for installing the toolbar... why would you want to unselect it? If you didn`t want the toolbar you could just close the window.

Male 10,440
I don`t know... this person could just be installing a toolbar.

It says "installation of toolbar" at the top. Usually this sort of thing is just one frame and therefore it should say installing whatever else

Male 1,627
i dont get this. look at the top he is intentionally installing nero ask tool bar.

and you can just click cancel and it`ll go to the next installer executable if there are any

It is the permission box to install the toolbar. Of course they are not going to let you uncheck the box to install it. That is the only reason the box is there in the first place.

Male 144
Well it`s the installation screen for the Nero Ask Toolbar.
Why is it so surprising that it wants to install exactly that.
The ToS can`t be unselected because that would mean you don`t want to install it.
