I know a girl that said she`s used a strap on. She never said anything about making phone calls though.
I`ll ask her.

I have a lovely sony ericsson wrist watch, it isnt quite a phone but it allows me to reject calls, silence my mobile, pause, ff, rw music tracks, virates to tell me when i have moved out of bluetooth range of my phone (saved me on several occasions while drunk)and has a screen to see who is calling or read txt`s. lovel peice of kit :D

I have seen this idea before and I would never use it. I have broken so many watches over the years hitting things with them or catching them on door jambs that I stopped wearing a watch.

I am fine with a cell phone in my pocket or belt holster.

They started off AT&T, changed names several times, and ended up back at AT&T. You can see the history here

This ad looks wicked old. All it does is make calls? That`s not a phone. Phones text and surf and start your car and track your gps position. Talking is so 90s.

@blckhawk1234- This add looks a lot like something from the early 90`s. I`m pretty sure they had headphones and mics back then.

@EntrE- AT&T was founded in 1983 according to Wikipedia. It`s been through various mergers, etc, but it`s been around for a while.

I think what this ad is getting at is... "In the future poo will be really cool - but in the mean time buy our crap"
"Reason it probably didn`t work is ..."
Or maybe because they never actually invented it?
The ad says "In The Future You Will..." so it`s just and ad that promises nothing, really.

Reason it probably didn`t work is because you would need headphones and a mic going to the wrist and technology wasnt far enough to do that effectively.

Do you really need your phone attached to your wrist at all times? There are bands for that, but that is kind of ridiculous.

AT&T`s version of the old Dick Tracy two-way wrist radio... later became the two-way wrist TV.
