GTA urbans myths were so what I used to love. I`d watch like 100000 videos on them and be so amazed.

I no longer believe them anymore as i`m obviously smarter now than then.

Number 10 is the only one I remember. I knew it was probably bs, but my friend and I tried to unlock it all the same.

Back in the day I admit I install that patch which made Lara naked for one level. If you made her do the fancy handstand wall climb you could really see the goods. I was very young and easily amused.

I`m sad that this didn`t include the legend about getting General Leo on your team, in FF6. Then again, maybe that`s kinda going back too far for this list. When I was a kid, everybody said you could get General Leo to join your team by fighting some outrageous number of battles, in some area or another. I totally believed it, too. Wasted a lot of time...

Dude - I feel like no. 4 must be wrong. I`ve been there, and I`m not so sure Gameshark was the means. I know I tried angling off the edges in several ways, perhaps setting off explosions to push me back - and then I remember running across the water with `turbo` mode on and reaching the island in a similar anticlimactic haste. Ah, the days of utterly disappointing cryptic artifacts realized!

i knew of the aerith rumor, but not the underwater variation, for me it was always that if you fought some crazy amount of battles, that you could go to the sleeping guy in the cave and that`s where you`d get her.

At a younger age, I could not accept the fact that the huge field of grass to the west of Pallet Town was just the boundary of the game world. There HAD to be something there. Pokemon games had tons of urban legends; Mew under the truck is just one of them.

You could do all of those things in Banjo Kazooie by entering codes in the treasure cove floor. They didn`t do anything, but they showed up when you paused the game and were just cool to have.

Wasn`t the Ice Key `gettable` through a code in the Treasure Cove Island`s sand castle?

@Lamiacraor

Yeah, youve been there in Diablo 2. It was never in Diablo 1. It originally enraged Blizzard enough at one point they even put a cheat code in Starcraft 1 that lets you skip to the next level. The cheat was "There is no cow level"

Nothing about how Onyxia deep breaths more if <insert something here>? Or how you should use a different raid leader if there`s some drop you rarely get? Blizz even referenced the former in an achievement when they reintroduced Onyxia.

The cow level didn`t exist in Diablo one, it was only added to the sequels.

@ Volsunga, Close, but the much easier and earlier way is to catch an Abra after beating Misty, go left like your going to the secret cave with Mewtwo and pause when the guy noticves you, teleport back to Cerulian before he come to challange you, if done right, you cant pause, then Mew will challange you on Nugget bridge. (TOTALLY LEGIT IVE DONE IT) Does NOT work in Yellow

matwix 2004, the urban legend there was that it was full of fantastic weapons and super enemies, not that the location existed.

volsunga, continuing the urban legends are we?

Mew under the truck is a myth, but you can get it without using a gameshark.

1. get either fly or teleport

2. find a trainer that you can trigger by walking in front of them from offscreen.

3. when you enter the triggering square, pause and teleport/fly before they are triggered.

4. fight a slowpoke (trainer by Bill`s house)

5. fly or teleport to cerulean

6. cross nugget bridge and you`ll fight a lvl 7 Mew.

This works because of a glitch in the pokemon id numbers that is activated when you activate the trainer without going into fight mode. Slowpoke carries an id that will give you a Mew.

I still don`t understand why Pokémon`s tag line was always "Gotta catch `em all", when that has never really been achievable.
Oh well, won`t stop me playing :)

The Secret Base in Goldeneye’s Dam Level is innacurate.
There IS a secret base there, and it IS possible to get to; you just have to use a cheat. Therefore, it is not an `urban legend`.

But no, I didn`t believe any of them - mostly because I hadn`t heard any of them before (well, I did believe the Lara Croft one when I was younger, but never bothered to try it - and concequently forgot about it).
