Using a severed dog head? WTF?!

This is actually from Soviet Russia.
It says that this document is top-secret, and cannot be disclosed to anybody without the explicit command of the one in charge of this operation!
Wonder if it ever ended up actually working...

Looks exactly like the robot body that Robot Chicken gave to Walt Disney`s reanimated head.

The style of illustration is different for the mech body.. plus it looks like it`s been `shopped into the photos.

It`s still awesome though.. I want to know where this is from.

i reconise the first image as being one from the russian experiments on keeping the severed head of a dog alive using machines... never seen the mech body before.

i have doubts as to the veracity.

I`m fairly certain that this is a documentation of the re-animation experiments done in the early 1900`s. The main goal was to figure out a way to bring dead body parts back to life in hopes of bringing whole dead bodies back to life. They mostly used dead animals. This research eventually led to the ability to transplant live organs to dying patients.

Stormy: okay, so what if i put my brain in a robot body, and then there was a war between robots and humans, which side would i be on?
Debbie: humans! you still have a human brain.
Sparks: but the humans would discriminate against you. You can`t even vote!
Marco: man, we better not have to live on reservations, that would really chap my caboose!

Well they russians successfully transplanted the brain of a dog into another dag during the cold war, or the world war. I forget. But yeah, they did some crazy ass stuff outback, during the 1900s

"Well humans tend to whine a lot when you chop their head off and bolt it onto a robot body. I know some of you SAY you would do it but when the time came to actually DO it you would puss out. You might be powerful but you still couldn`t get laid!"

But why wouldn`t they just build a robot that a human (or I guess dog) could control without chopping off their head? Wouldn`t that be better? Why do we want a robot run by a severed head so badly?

Man, I heard about this experiment but I had no idea they built a mech for it. Still, it DID work, in that the dog`s head lived.

When criminals in this world appear,
And break the laws that they should fear,
And frighten all who see or hear,
The cry goes up both far and near for...
Underdog! (Underdog!)
Underdog! (Underdog!)
Speed of lightning,
Roar of thunder,
Fighting all who rob or plunder,
Underdog. (Underdog!)

The Russians did experiment with some weird stuff back in the day, but not dog head robots.

It`s not fake.

In the early 1900s the Russians did experiments with dogs. Starting with how much of the body they could remove and keep it alive.

Look up "Russian Dog Experiments" on You Tube.

[quote">fake! the russians would have gone straight to human experiments.[/quote">

yes, it`s fake, but Dr. Sergey Bryukhonenko really experimented with severed dog heads. Dr. Vladimir Demikhov transplanted vital organs and eventually entire dog heads.

sauce: vids of Demikhov`s head transplant
some info about Demikhov
info on Bryukhonenko

It is fake, but the Russians did send a dog into space before a human.

Even though this is staged, it is visionary! We have lot`s of strays around here - and lots of weeds, road repair, school buses to drive, migrants farm workers to displace... And the Humane societies are all underfunded and overpopulated. Win-Win!!

In Soviet Russia, Robot ki- HOLY F*CK IS THAT A SEVERED DOG`S HEAD?!?

In all seriousness, this may be viral marketing. Based on some of the text I can translate, this would have never worked well enough for them to even get far enough to warrant building the robot suit. Not to mention that Russia was still recovering from the revolution at that time and nobody would be working on this kind of thing at that time period. The Soviet Union wouldn`t start doing the weird weapon research until the late `30s.

The vast majority of these pictures and diagrams are fake.

There WERE experiments conducted in Russia in the early 20th century... and they actually were able to keep the severed head of a dog alive for a time... I`ll find a link and submit it... Mods?
