The way this kid is carrying on, you wonder how he"d react to a tsunami first hand.

"You people who are annoyed over your boats being damaged should be ashamed".

Agree 100%. I live near here, and the local news had some lady crying hysterically over the loss of her boat (recreational, did not live on it). I`m thinking, really lady? People in Japan lost their homes, loved ones, etc. and you are crying over the loss of your boat? Get real.

Well it`s all relative. If that wave washed into your harbour, knocking boats about and probably causing some damage, You wouldn`t just go "Whatever, just look at Japan. You people who are annoyed over your boats being damaged should be ashamed"

It amazes me the arrogance of some people in regards toward a tsunami. It is unpredictable. When it reached Hawaii it did absolutely nothing in Kauai and Oahu. When it reached the Big Island on the Southwest side in Kona it came over an 10 foot break wall and tore up the front highway and flooded businesses and pulled some homes and cars out to the ocean.

You should never stand near the ocean with the mentality it won`t get me. You cannot out run a surging swollen ocean.

I was there. my friend called me saying the harbor was being destroyed, we have to see the carnage. when we got there we just stood around watching a bunch of boats bang against each other, only a few sank.

I would say that the person filming this is not over-reacting at all. The position he is filming from is roughly a half mile inland. The waters in the upper harbor are nearly always calm and flat. Those that know the area well were certainly shocked to see water rushing so deeply into the harbor.

The only thing I could think of was everytime he said "No way." I was saying "Way" in my Mike Myers voice in my mind.

[quote">Yawn. The Severn Bore does that, twice a day on many days of the year. Get over yourself.[/quote">

That, but bigger and faster:

Surfing the Severn bore

I picked pro news footage because it doesn`t have shakeycam but, as blackcatseye said, this happens every day. The highest recorded Severn bore was about 9 feet.

Well, I suppose if you lived on a totally flat plain then a small hill would be strange and powerful to you. Every now and again in Britain we get an earthquake that can be felt and which might break a couple of windows. Obviously trivial on a global scale, but it`s so out of the ordinary here that people talk about it for days.
