This is just awful, I think that those facebook comments yesterday must be from people who just don`t realise the magnitude of the situation, they can`t really mean it.

I`m gonna be the one of many to say that I find it a little weird that facebook and youtube vidoes didn`t really explode until last year and now all of a sudden we are seeing natural disasters. unless there is video proof of a gate to hell opening I`ll continue to think the world is not ending and all this is normal.

2:00 just looks fake.....to know that`s real is just...mind boggling....
at 3:24 did anyone else hear the commentary get a little....spontaneously mature?

    btw...This isn`t a Tsunami vv

People have no idea how tsunamis work

i thought it was just a big wave....nope...

it`s as if the water just pools in and keeps coming...

Yeesh! That`s awful to watch. What can anyone do about it? You can`t build a 20-foot ring dike around every town on the coast of Japan, eh? People will re-build their towns and hope the waves don`t come again, but they will (the waves that is).

I`m amazed by the composure the people of Japan show in these videos. It`s remarkable, and in a lot of ways a model of civilized behavior.

@idiotfilter- fcukin` tsunamis, how do they work? Scientists DO know how tsunamis work, and they ARE just big waves which are caused by earthquakes. You know that scene in Jurassic Park where ripples appear in the glass of water each time the T Rex takes a step? A tsunami is just like that, but, you know, FCUKING GIGANTIC.

I just keep thinking about how wild this would have been somewhere else. Not that i wish bad things upon Japan, but they have the argueably the best warning and communication systems for these type of things in the world. Comprehensive communications and evacuation plans. Good disaster-limiting building codes, etc etc. And still things got really nasty. Imagine if this were somewhere a lot poorer or less prepared.

.... Ya think? An 8.9 mag earthquake would be warning enough for me.
