"it is not illegal to pull off to the shoulder of a highway to attend to any emergency you may have, or for any reason you feel you cannot continue to operate safely in a travel lane!"

In this case that reason would be that you are either mentally retarded or clinically insane.

I don`t get it. They want a call to action, but they don`t really come out and say what they want. I can get behind a protest against abortion, or some specific policy or travesty. But this is just to proclaim a dissatisfaction with our current leadership.

I don`t see how this will accomplish anything.

what exactly will this accomplish again? are these people going to propose some sort of "solution" to these "problems" they are attempting to protest? i dont` understand what this is except a ploy to try and gain attention to people that do nothing more than complain at every turn no matter who is in charge.

But this is just to proclaim a dissatisfaction with our current leadership.

Most people are dissatisfied with their current leadership most of the time, so what does it matter?

The key point, in my opinion, is how safe it is to openly express that dissatisfaction.

This isn`t going to get anything done except, maybe, waste gas and piss other motorists off.
If anyone really wants to be productive, start within your own community. Go work at a soup kitchen. Clean up some streets. Don`t be a whiny cry-baby because you don`t like the President. That`s not going to make him step down. It`s not his job to fix all of your problems. The problem is people don`t take responsibility because they expect everyone else to do it for them. This is just immature.

I love how even the article itself is an excercise in making few people (500) look like a lot (7 miles) by cheating ("Bring your tractor-trailer").

Because a tractor trailer has a voice that should be heard!

It`s almost like when people bring lounge chairs and picnic tables to a large scale event. You know, items that take up about as much space as 15 people at a shoulder to shoulder rally?

Then measure the number of people by the area taken up and claim media bias if it`s questioned.

Not as bad though, as outright deceptions about how "Most people don`t want Public Healthcare" when the real breakdown is:
43% in favor of current bill.
13% say the bill is not liberal enough, and want more.
37% say too liberal. <-- This is the position conservatives put in "America"`s mouth.

    Meh.

There are all sorts of reason to dislike Sarah Palin, and in particular to be terrified of the prospect of that vapid bint leading the free world. But this isn`t one of them. Best I can tell, this is just another hillbilly redneck spouting crap who drags Sarah Palin into the cause without her endorsement, sanction, or in fact having anything to do with it.

Personally, I think Palin is an imbecile, but to paint this as being anything to do with her is cheap. She`s capable of being an imbecile without any help from others.

If this is done in Wisconsin or here in Florida, people will assume it`s in protest of our new Republican governors. Both are reckless souless morons who refuse to listen to the will of the people, and fail to realize that they work for us. It doesn`t really matter though, becaause they aren`t politicians. They are in it for their own interests, especially Ricky Scott. Hell, he even wants to tear up our state parks and give them to Jack Nicklaus to develop high end golf courses and hotels, letting countless pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers flow into our natural springs and kill off the manatess, not to mention take away our swimming, tubing, and kayaking areas. To hell with Conservatives. They suck.

Funny, because they just got elected like 3 months ago. Sounds like someone is bitter that their side lost.

"It doesn`t really matter though, becaause they aren`t politicians."

Apparently you are misguided as to what a politician is.

"he even wants to tear up our state parks and ... develop high end golf courses ... letting countless pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers flow into our natural springs and kill off the manatess, not to mention take away our swimming, tubing, and kayaking areas."

Golf courses kill manatees and take away kayaking areas? I think you`re trying too hard here. There are over 40 golf courses where I live, and you know, we haven`t had any of those problems. In fact, they are the greatest boon to the local economy.

Damn straight. They are taking away power from ordinary middle-class citizens and handing it over to the corporate intersts.
"Apparently you are misguided as to what a politician is."
No. A politician would at least try to get re-elected. These guys are in it for short term personal gain.
"Golf courses kill manatees and take away kayaking areas? I think you`re trying too hard here. There are over 40 golf courses where I live, and you know, we haven`t had any of those problems. In fact, they are the greatest boon to the local economy."
Here in Florida, we have over 1250 golf courses and recently many in the local Orlando area have failed, including the one I bought my house on. (I`m a golfer) I have no problem with golf courses, but unless they are state-run, they should be built on private property.

(cont.) As far as you not having problems with toxic runoff, maybe your courses aren`t built on pristine springs. Jack Nicklaus wants to build on natural springs like Rock Springs and Blue Springs (that where manatees like to hang out in the winter). If you think all the chemicals they use on golf courses won`r leak into the water, you either need to learn more about golf courses, or the environment.
Do some research about Jack Nicklaus`s plan. I think you`ll change your mind pretty quickly.

I`d also invite you to do some research into Rock Springs and Blue Springs in Florida, and then, (and this extends to all cons) tell me why you would support handing over our land (without any say in it...there will be no ballot or vote on this...not even a feasability or impact study) to corporate interests instead of using private lands. This isn`t capitalism. It`s Fascism.

    Conservatives suck.

LazyMe: Only between your ears sonny. You are the only one I know here that consistently attempts to `make fun` of others here at IAB. That doesn`t make what you say funny, or make you a comedian, it make you look like a supreme jerk.

"No. A politician would at least try to get re-elected. These guys are in it for short term personal gain."

I`m not sure I understand the sentiment here, what is their short term personal gain? As for re-election, they are doing no more than they said they would during their campaigns. I haven`t heard of any mass protests of people who voted for them.

"Do some research about Jack Nicklaus`s plan."

I took this advice, and according to the plan, the golf courses are to be built in an "environmentally sensitive" fashion. It will increase revenue and increase the usability of state parks, which apparently have trouble attracting visitors.

It isn`t like they are turning the parks into an eye-sore, golf courses are designed to be aesthetically pleasing.

"there will be no ballot or vote on this...not even a feasability or impact study) to corporate interests instead of using private lands. This isn`t capitalism. It`s Fascism."

Governments buy and sell land all the time. Why should the State continue to spend money to maintain land that the public rarely uses? Why should your tax dollars go to the upkeep of a place that you don`t visit?

I looked up Rock Springs and Blue Springs, and they look like great places to put a golf course. Keep in mind that they aren`t turning THE WHOLE PARK into a golf course... these are pretty large areas we`re talking about.

There are currently mass protest going on right now. The media is doing a piss poor job of covering them. When was the last time you heard of mass protests against a state governor anyway?

Wrong. At both parks, at least in the summer time, if you don`t get there at least an hour after they open in the morning, they stop letting people in to avoid overcrowding. trust me on this one. I go to Rock Springs with my God-daughter all the time.

People still take that talking baboon with glasses seriously? She talks like she`s got an extra chromosome and has as much political and governing viability and experience as the dumb-f*cks that like her. Listening to her give advice about government is akin to taking directions on how to build a space-shuttle from a auto-mechanic (that got his certification online.)

"environmentally sensitive fashion"...Do you believe evreything you read in an ad or hear on a commercial? The areas that they want to develop on are already suffering from some damage due to neaby development, and local Republicans have tried over and over to prevent scientists from local universities from doing impact studies. You see, the sandy soil here in Florida allows for more runoff than where you might live.
There are plenty of good places available to put golf courses in already. A good start would be one of the many that have already failed. Again, I have nothing against golf. I play, and yes, courses are pretty, but when I go kayaking or tubing down the springs, the last thing I want to see is some glitzy hotel and a bunch of guys wearing plaid pants.
Come down to pur state parks. Once you see how beautiful they are, I`m sure you`d change your mind.

    Conservatives suck.

"When was the last time you heard of mass protests against a state governor anyway?"

You mean, before all of the mass protests occurring across the country right now in response to what recently elected Republicans are doing? Most of them are organized by unions.

"At both parks, at least in the summer time, if you don`t get there at least an hour after they open in the morning, they stop letting people in"

I was referring to state parks in general, as this is the assertion made by the plan itself.

"Do you believe evreything you read in an ad or hear on a commercial?"

No, you just told me to look it up, and I did. That is what the plan says. I said no more, no less.

"Once you see how beautiful they are, I`m sure you`d change your mind."

I never necessarily said that I would agree with such plans, I`m simply offering up the rationale behind it.

"You mean, before all of the mass protests occurring across the country right now in response to what recently elected Republicans are doing? Most of them are organized by unions."
If they are, they represent working people, and the protesters are aware of who organized it. The Tea-baggers had no clue that their movement was organized by corporate interests and the Koch Brothers Inc. They thought it was a "grass-roots" movement, and Fox "news" tried to pass it off as much. That`s just plain underhanded.
"I was referring to state parks in general, as this is the assertion made by the plan itself."
The plan targets very specific and very popular parks. Stop drinking the Kool-aid.
"I never necessarily said that I would agree with such plans, I`m simply offering up the rationale behind it."
    Fine. Then stop defending it.

I don`t get it. You Cons howl and bitch about "big government", but you`r

(con`t) but you`re the first ones to defend it when it comes to giving more power to big business and politicians who fight against the working class.

Wow this is fu cking stupid. The page doesn`t even specifically say what the protest is for. Unbelievable. So they`re just going to protest everything Obama is doing in general? Yeah, that makes sense.

It`s stupid crap like this that drives me insane. How the heck is this going to change anything? The only real way to do that is at the polls and that is a long way off. I`m a conservative and this stuff is an insult. Sarah Palin needs to shut her stupid mouth. Clogging up traffic for a day isn`t going to change anything.
