    This is a great video. As a small town boy, I grew up talking to anybody and everybody. In L.A. and NYC, people won`t even look at you for fear of making eye contact. My girlfriend (city girl) hates travelling with me because I talk to strangers.

    As a New Yorker, I have to say... it really is a strange feeling to be surrounded by hundreds if not thousands of people and still feel so alone.

    I live in a very small town- I say good morning to people as I walk past and talk to anyone I meet. I got some odd looks on a visit to New York for saying ` good morning` and followed by a private security vehicle because I went for a walk by the water in a posh part of Long Island. Hated it- the only friendly person was a black guy at the Port Authority- he was about 65 and a star!!!

    reply to ScottSerious;
    she hasn`t been free, and neither are you. you`re trapped within the system like the rest of us. no one can just decided for themselves. you can`t choose how you live. it has to been within the limits of the system. you want to fish or hunt for food? you need to go to the system for a license. you want money to buy the license? go to the system for a job. you want a better job? go to the system for education. you want that education? give money back to the system, most likely loaned by a bank with interest. so you hardly even make back what you put in to get that education. who`s to say you`ll even have a better job with the education? the ad on the tv? all it can guarantee is a profit margin for the owners of the college or university.

    take down the system before the "NWO" program is fully uploaded!

    @bongsmoka420, Nice troll, but I`ll answer anyway. If whiners complaining about "The System" would spend all that whiny energy working to help themselves, they`d have nothing to whine about. Lazy draters.

    @bongsmoka: Look, I don`t favor the government, but what gives you the right to fish and hunt without going through the proper channels to gain rights to the resources? If you don`t own the land, you are stealing from someone else if you simply go out and hunt or fish. If you don`t want to get a job and work to buy a piece of land, "the system" is the only thing that makes it reasonably possible for you to get the opportunity to live off the land.

    I have to say when I was in Manhattan on the subway, New Yorkers had to be some of the nicest people I`ve ever met. I would love to sit and talk to people like that.

    I think he`s taking it too personally. We don`t speak or make eye contact in subways, elevators and doctor`s offices because that`s how you can tell the crazy people apart from the non-crazy people. It`s code.

    Unlike the rest of the people here, I actually believe I understand what you are talking about. It`s not about whether you like the government or take for granted all that it`s done for us. It`s simply about the lack of freedom for how you want to live your life. I personally, would like to live in a world where the government doesn`t control my actions from day to day, but sadly I will never see the day. We don`t live in a truly free society and we never will until we free ourselves from the shackles put around our wrists the day we were born. People don`t like to accept it, but it is the undeniable truth.

    @Oystah -I hope that statement is a joke. Since when did being open and sociable to those humans around you make you "crazy". I think being so cold and anti-social makes YOU crazy, and inhumane. It`s exactly your kind of thought process that breeds all the ignorance and prejudice in the world today.

    This is actually pretty touching. Sometimes when you reach out to a complete stranger you find the link that most of us forget about in our daily lives. We are all just wanderers in the wasteland that is human existence. If only more of us took the time to seek out common ground, rather than assume we are all islands unto ourselves.. Great post!

    I feel pity for those who live in such a life in the city. They seem so depressed. BTW why didn`t this young man ask older people. Like 40 plus and older.
