Alright, I expect that level of wit to come from an I-A-Ber.

Which one of you posted that?

retarded bear

it can also be said
"its not a theory if its false"

you pointed out in your definition:
"a theory is an unproven hypothesis"
therefore, if its true, its not a theory

First time I heard of this I said "Somebody save the cartoons!"

I feel sorry for everyone that has gotten killed or hurt too, but I don`t see any harm in making a joke about it. It`s not like it`s making anything worse for them, and honestly, being sad about it won`t do jack squat.

"its not a theory if its true"

What you said can be rephrased as "all theories are false."

A theory is an unproven hypothesis; that does not mean it is false. As for conspiracy theories, it is unlikely that any popular conspiracy theory will ever be proven true, because they are usually based on absurd logic.

As long as the jokes aren`t sneering or otherwise in bad taste, it`s ok really. Someone texted me one: "My Japanese girlfriend just left me, but never mind - there`s plenty more in the sea". Get it? It`s a playing on a saying.

((personal sidenote - Woo! 2000 posts!! I`ve officially wasted too much time!!))

Actually if you type `9/11` into sickipedia and you get 100 pages of jokes... because it can`t show more than 100 pages.

There`s nothing immoral about using humour as a response to any disaster, I know a lot of people who do so for small disasters in their day-to-day lives, I do. You might find it in bad taste, but that`s just an opinion.

For sure this is just one huge hilarious joke...made on the day after 1000`s of people were killed...but...you know, remember how even though the rest of the world thought that 9/11 would make a hilarious punchline for loads of jokes...but had the grace to wait...and waited...and waited...and are *still* waiting...for america to get over itself before use the death of all those people in the twin towers as part of some cool jokes...maybe this arsehole could have done the same?

People feel that it is cool to be a total prick on the internet against many people that have lost their loved ones. If you are one of those people, I hope you die a horrible, slow and painful death.

Soooo... Am I the only one who reads that and realizes he isn`t making a joke about the tragedy? He is making a joke on Charlie Sheen... REALLY!? Do people not get that? Or maybe I just have a twisted sense of humor...

There is no such thing as a joke that is "too soon." There are such things as prigs.

He`s wrong - it was a plot by Scott Walker, he`s the true beneficiary of the moved spotlight. Thats not a joke, its a fact.

Well, trolls are the sociopaths of the internet. I can`t understand how a healthy human being can make fun of terrible suffering anywhere. But hey, I`m the one who cries when I see this stuff on TV.

@handimanner

You mean WestBORO Baptists? This wouldn`t surprise me in the slightest. Natural disasters are the perfect platform for them to spew their "God Hates _____ " bullcrap... I`m sure they`d find Asians SOMEWHERE in their spectrum of people that God must hate.

wow...talk about a troll. I`m always emotionally removed from these types of things, but I agree with the insensitivity post someone made. My roommate is from Japan and she has been rather depressed today, to say the least. With her feelings in mind and just knowing how tragic this is...just, wow...trolling...

Jokes are only "too soon" if they`re in poor taste to begin with. This is really more of a joke on Charlie, nobody is making fun of the earthquake.

Seriously, though. This morning 4 of the news stations I flipped through had big "BREAKING NEWS! TSUNAMI WAVES STRIKE JAPAN!" banners, and then I get to HLN and it`s like "Police search Charlie Sheen`s house for weapons!".
