That kid`s sister was the best.

And if there is any long-term sociological effect of this video I would hope that it`s a lot of bullies second guessing themselves before picking on a fat kid.

poor kid :( im glad he stood up for himself!

and in response to this:
but i`m afraid that some victims will be inspired to stand up to bullies that they simply can`t beat. what happens when some kid tries to be like casey and get`s beat worse than ever for it?

then that kids an idiot, and i wouldn`t blame this video for that kids actions.

beating the bully isn`t the point (though a very nice attaboy if you do) The point is to stick up for yourself and not to take anyone`s crap. bullies deep down have their own issues and are cowards at heart. My kiddo got picked on somewhat fierce until he beat the crap out of one of them. I regret to this day that I taught him not to fight. Now I tell them don`t throw the first punch. Bonnie Nichols FUUUUUUUUU biotch.

I`d back him up. I`d run in there and start punching the poo out of everyone. I was bullied in middle school a lot. Till I did what he did. I didn`t do an epic body slam, but I beat him pretty good haha.

I used to be bullied alot in school too, It took all 5 minutes of the one and only fight i had ever been in and i was never push around again. I broke the one guys arm and that was it. My Principal didn`t even ask me questions, the other guy was expelled and noone even tried to bug me again.

Fighting the bullies and winning is one way that ends it for good

@premierwondr, tell your bro` it helps to partner up with any other bully victims, safety in numbers, and the moral support is crucial (probably make some lifelong friends). And keep a very cutting riposte handy, might get his ass beat, but everyone will know who`s smarter. And Karma does happen.

@nighthack "I got picked on a lot as a kid also, and I was always bigger than the kids who picked on me. I wish I`d had the guts to fight back like this kid did. It went on for a long time and I don`t know if I`ll ever completely recover from the negative ways in which it influenced my personality. It`s a horrible thing to be convinced that you are somehow inferior to all of your peers. That feeling stays with you."

Likewise for me. I had the same type of body as Casey. It`s crippling going into puberty with moobs, the crap you get is none-stop. It took me forever to build up any self esteem what-so-ever. Every time I watch this vid, I say "BAM" when the little bully hits the ground.

cont`d from below:

But at the end of the day it’s up to him to decide what to do about it. It’s his life and only he can decide how to deal with it. The best you can do is try to guide him the right direction and help build some confidence in him. Encourage him to be more active, if you can, teach him to fight. Not so he can go out and look for trouble but if he finds himself in a bad situation he’ll know what to do. It won’t happen over night. Honestly he probably has some tough years ahead of him, it sucks but that just how it is. Just be ready to deal with the school if worst comes to worst. Give him a camera phone and tell him to have it ready when he thinks things might get bad. Just let him know he is not alone and he has people who care for him.

Sorry if that was long, but it sound like I might have gone through something similar as your little brother when I was kid so I hoped that helps some

So the best option for him is to stand up for himself, just doing it once will change the way the bullies approach him, and will work wonders for his self-esteem. Tell him not to look for a fight, that is never the right thing to do. Tell him to stand up for himself, now I’m not saying to he should strike the bully to end it. No that could lead to more problems. When I stopped my bullies I never threw a single punch, I just cussed them out at the top of my lungs and stared them down. Now this might have worked for me cause, like this Casey I was bigger than my bullies and they where pussies in the end. If your little brother is a little on the big side, you’ll be surprised how quickly he can intimidate his bullies if he just develops a bit of a spine.

(This might be a bit long but bear with me)
Bullying sucks, I dealt with it a lot through middle school until I finally put a stop to it my freshman year in high school. It feels great to finally stand up for yourself. It sounds like your little brother probably (like most fat kids) has some serious self -esteem issues. The bullies probably sense that too and are taking advantage of it. If he can somehow learn to like himself a little better, by working out or losing some weight he should build up some confidence and he’d have an easier time in school. You can go see his teachers, but that honestly will only stop it temporarily. Bullies are tenacious and if they think they can’t get caught they will pick on him again and again. And just by him going to the teacher the students might ostracize him some more.

Here`s a link with good info, which is all about exuding self confidence. Lack of confidence is usually what bullies look for in victims, and kids can`t really generate that out of nowhere, so I would say he should build himself up: start running, weight training, and find someone who can teach him how to fight. Even if it doesn`t get rid of the bullies he`ll be on the road to becoming a healthier and more confident person and it will be an outlet for his stress.

Scream and flail and hit and kick and scratch. You might still get your ass kicked, but next time the bully will look for easier prey

Yeah I wish I could say that my brother`s bullies would get some karmic retribution but who nos wen that`ll happen.
I don`t feel comfortable saying, yeah go ahead and mess those bullies up because I don`t know what that would lead to.
But I don` want him cooping his anger up either.

Kids, I`m so glad to be 20...

@premierwondr

i`d tell your brother to fight back, win or lose. he might get his ass beat but if he stands up for himself the bullies will think twice next time. tell your brother to give his bully a STRAIGHT punch to the nose. you don`t have to be strong to make someone cry if you hit that spot.

This kid is my hero. I was bullied like crazy by a girl and her friends. I choose to follow her around lunch and waited until her friends left her side then ran and punched the back of her head...of course I sorta missed and my fist grazed her head and ended up hitting her shoulder. She made a huge deal about it and I was sent home (by a cop) for 4 days. Funny thing is I saw her icing the other side of her head and crying up a storm. Lol

Maybe one of you could help.

My brother has been going through a lot of bullying. It`s his first year in middle school and he hates it.
He gets picked on for the typical bullpoo. He`s overweight and we`re half Jewish.
The worst part is that 1 of the ring leaders used to be his friend.

I used to tell him to suck it up and ignore it, that people change but now I don`t know.

Someone give me a hand, I want to help my brother but I have no experience with bullies and I don`t know what to do for him.

@Nettech98 I second that mate. When Columbine happened I remember watching in sheer awe at how everyone was so surprised and shocked that something like that could happen. I understood %100 how a person could be driven to that by daily torment and torture that children can lay on another.

I was bullied when I was a kid too, and it was always me who got in trouble, never the bullies. Even to the point of being punished by my parents. By the time I hit 8th grade I`d had enough and retaliated against everyone, even the principle. When I hit 9th grade I moved to a new state and used it as my opportunity to become the quiet observant kid who gave no one a reason to pick on me. My last year of getting into a fight, and also semi-bullied, was in 9th grade.

this is why i hate the stupid anti-bullying commercials: "Tell a teacher". No, don`t tell a teacher, that`ll just make it worse; throw a damn punch, you`ll probably connect, and if you do, throw another one. Follow up with a nice right-cross and maybe a haymaker or uppercut. Or follow this kid`s lead, there`s never a wrong place for a nice body slam. THAT`S how you stop bullying.

I can definitely relate to this. In 6th grade I was picked on a lot. I was 250lbs. I stood up to my bully. Next thing I knew nobody would mess with me. I then decided to eat right and get into shape and I never looked back.

It`s bullied kids like this that snap and pull a Columbine. Hard to believe that teachers haven`t put a stop to this in all those years he was bullied. Also, this was premeditated, as they had camera rolling and buddies standing by.

What impresses me is that he slams the bully and steps back. He doesn`t keep going, he doesn`t lose it, he doesn`t stomp the kid`s head. He does enough to change the dynamic and no more.
