Saddening. It is truly sad when someone who can afford a Lambo just destroys it, instead of donating sale proceeds to a decent cause (or raffling it off in the same context). What a waste.

I`m actually pretty impressed with the Lamborghini for taking that much punishment for that long. My Camry would be absolutely DESTROYED by that many sledgehammers

@hybrovi - carbon fibre is strong for it`s weight, not indestructable.

I once tried to run through a small gap in a metal fence with a fully extended carbon fibre gitzo tripod. Cerrrrraaakkkkkkkkk. (Very) Expensive, very light, but not indestructable, trust me, I may be an idiot, but I have experience in this department.

Angillion, it is a fair point, I was using the term `sports car` in a very loose sense, Lamborghini to me will always be an exotic car manufacture, and is much more about automotive art than pure driving performance, as was the Miura.

In many ways the purest sports cars are the bare bones, Radicals, Elises, Atoms and Caterhams.

The modern Bentley Mulsanne Turbo is more like a space ship than a GT. (6.75L twin turbo FFS)

The Lamborghini was bought six months ago, but the engine failed to start on November 29, 2010. The owner contacted the Lamborghini dealer in Qingdao and they transported the Gallardo to their maintenance center. The engine problem wasn`t solved, but instead the bumper and chassis were damaged by the transport. The owner complained by the dealer but they refused to take responsibility in this matter, so the angry owner contacted Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the brand`s China headquarters, its after-sales service manager for Asia-Pacific region, and the brand`s owner Volkswagen Group, but the problem was not solved.
Angry about the service, the owner felt his consumer rights were ignored. So he decided that the best way to gain attention was to destroy his car on the 15th of March, which is also World Consumer Rights Day.He hired people to publicly destroy his car with hammers. This protest was made to provoke public support and get the manufacturer to respect his consumer ri

I can tell you right now that car is built solid. If you did the same to any normal car you would have nothing left after that amount of time. They could barely put a decent dent in that car with a sledge but when I kicked my own car it caved the whole panel in lol.
Kind of ironic though, Lamborghini sports cars only came into being, because Ferrucio Lamborghini was p*ssed off with a Ferrari 250GT he bought. So he decided to build a better car.

So c`mon Chinese big man, show us how much money you`ve really got to burn... Make a better car.
I thought they came about because several young engineers at Lamborghini designed the Miura in their own time for no pay because they wanted to make a new sports car. The "better cars" that Ferrucio Lamborghini made were grand tourers - quieter, more comfortable, more reliable, easier to drive long distances. Although since they were amongst the fastest road cars I suppose it depends on how you define "sports car". Would you class a modern Bentley as a sports car?

I don`t understand why he hired a bunch of guys with sledgehammers to do this. THE CAR IS MADE OF CARBON FIBER. If you want it smashed a bunch of guys with hammers aren`t going to cut it.

lol at the people thinking it`s because the guys aren`t strong enough. DUH. Carbon fiber would withstand this from anybody.

I just wasted 3 minutes to watch some guys with hammers waste their own time somewhat damaging an expensive car.

If you want to convey a message whatever the message is here, it doesn`t take 3 minutes.
If you want to destroy a car, there are far more efficient ways to do so.
If you want to convince a crowd or make a protest, you don`t need to buy the car to begin with.
If you have the money to buy that car then throw it away, your money could be better spent.

Couldn`t he have just given it away or sold it cheap to someone? At least then He could`ve got a little something back....

Yes, well, quite why this Chinese gentleman couldn`t express his displeasure that his Lamborghini Gallardo failed to start after being serviced by writing a strongly worded letter to his Lamborghini dealer, I simply cannot fathom.

((P.S. Don`t pronounce the `L`s in Gallardo, otherwise you`ll sound ignorant, like a rapper. It`s more like "Guy-ardo"))
