I don`t see what`s so wrong about this sign, personally. It appears to be aimed at the loudmouth mongoloid parents who pretend that it`s Game 7 of the World Series and scream vitriol at the umps and opposing players. The sad thing is that they, as adults, need to be TOLD how to act.

I umpire little league baseball games, and I wish we had a sign like this at our fields. The parents will do nothing but yell at the coaches, kids, the other players, and me. I don`t remember the last time I had a game without a drunk dad in his lawn chair get totally out of hand with the stuff he was yelling in front of all the people who just want to sit and watch their 10 year old play baseball.

Censorship in any form is a horrible thing. Now, that`s not to say that there aren`t non-nice individuals that abuse it. But if I want to say, "Why did you do that? That`s a bad call Ump!" That`s my damn business.

@Spearman, hey, that is life... the kids need to know that when they grow up, their bosses won`t be giving them "Positive Comments Only"! Not to mention that at the professional level of baseball, or any sport for that matter, you can`t shut-up those fans. So why should we coddle kids and hide the real world from them, when that only does a dis-service to their growth and understanding of their place in the world. Kids aren`t idiots, let`s not treat them as such.

It appears to be aimed at everyone in all contexts, because that is what it says. There are no conditions attached.

If you see a road sign giving a speed limit of 30mph, do you assume it only applies to bad drivers and it`s OK for you to do 40 or 50?

and for those of you who say, "this sign is for the drunk loser dads..."... well in Poland, first they came for the gypsy... my point being, this sign tells me as a non-drunk dad, I can`t tell the ump he needs glasses when he obviously does?!? Censorship is a dangerous row to hoe. Live and let live, and get over it.

@ggolbez I don`t think you get it. Any grown-up who goes to a Little League baseball game and interferes in any way simply should not be there.

Your role, as a spectator and as an adult, is to support the kids. You`re there to SHOW them that whenever they have the courage to step up to the plate, literally and metaphorically, someone will be there to cheer them on. The outcome of the game doesn`t really matter compared to the lessons involved.

But, for the sake of argument, let`s say you`ve spawned the next Babe Ruth. Congratulations. Now teach your kid the rules of the game so that HE can be the one to stand up to bad calls.

@ Angilion If it were aimed at the players, it would be inside of the fence; not on the outside. The conditions are implied by the location of the sign.

The players teleport into the ground?

Nobody is ever allowed to enter the ground other than "loudmouth mongoloid parents who pretend that it`s Game 7 of the World Series and scream vitriol at the umps and opposing players."?

    I think that`s very unlikely.

Angilion, I`m sorry but you just sound like a jacka$$. It`s aimed towards the parents, 100%. No point arguing, not only because that`s the obvious fact, but because that is too stupid to actually debate.

Good job of acknowledging that you don`t have a counter-argument. Thanks.

So I`ll ask you the same question I asked the other person who argued that the same thing:

If you see a road sign giving a speed limit of 30mph, do you assume it only applies to bad drivers and it`s OK for you to do 40 or 50?

Or do you think it`s a magic sign and only visible to certain people?

A sign that explicitly states a blanket order without any exceptions is aimed at everyone within range.

It should be legal to deck certain people when they clearly have it coming, because sometimes belligerent people deserve a punch in the mouth. Signs like this wouldn`t be necessary if people were held publicly accountable for their behavior.

    Cop: You hit him?
Person: Yes, sir, he was yelling rude things at women/kids.
Cop: After you hit him, did he stop?
    Person: Yes, sir.
Cop: K, we`re good here then. Bye.

kids who never get sworn at turn into people like you, afraid to be sworn at..

Up here, the kids hockey games are waay worse, they usually have to have cops at most games, and these are 6-9 year olds. The screaming and yelling helps, cuz if the kid doesnt play good, he drating better well start, and they do. If you dont teach they kids they got 110%, theyll never know hot to use their 110%.

They`re children, its a game, a comptetitive game, but still a game, they aren`t professional athletes. Anyone who gets that worked up over a childs game that they aren`t even participating in must have one pathetically dull life.

PS If you teach kids they`ve got 110% then they`ll suck at maths.

oh come on stop the whining. It`s not like any kids won`t be able to have a normal life after hearing a swearword! sooner or later they hear it anyways, PLUS it`s only a fu*king word! If you get upset about words, then what else do you get upset about?! but who knows, maybe american kids are just a little slower and it takes them like 7 or 8 years longer to be confronted with such harsh things like bad words. or let alone human anatomy!!!

Its not just about the game, its about life in general. If the kids arent willing to give it their all at some silly little sport, how the hell are they supposed to achieve anything else?

PS If they understand that there is a possibility at 110%, they`ll understand higher level maths when theyre older.

If you see a sign in the zoo that says, "Don`t feed the animals", do you immediately assume that applies to everyone and start yelling at the zookeepers when they walk into the pen and start feeding the animals? That dang zoo forgot to include the exceptions on the signs again.

i think there is a fine line between being critical and being abusive. i guess with sports teams, i really hate it when the parents are like "oh we don`t keep score". my little brother played in a league like that, for soccer, and the kids kept score even if the parents pretended not to. i think we need to be honest with our kids if they suck at something. not necessarily outright mean, but definitely honest.
