Your Anti-Gay Tattoo Fails, Hipster [Pic]

Yes, your Leviticus quote that prohibits gay marriage is fine and dandy, but Leviticus also prohibited tattoo. You fail!

Which is why I followed through by saying that if I never got the same results, I would document mine and have another scientist test to see who or what was different.

This is one reason I hate internet forums. People can just bitch out when they know they`ve lost, instead of accepting the fact they they`re getting bitch-slapped with reality.

I notice fatpill is back with their bizarre interpretation of selected incorrect translations of selected parts of their bible.

Is it worth me going through them all again pointing out how they`re all wrong?

In other words, does anyone here believe fatpill?

If so, I`ll fill a couple of dozen more posts with analysis of every verse, explaining why fatpill`s interpretation is either provably wrong or just one possible interpretation (that`s probably wrong).
If I were to perform Schrödinger`s experiments, I would receive the same results. If I didn`t, I would`ve done something wrong and keep trying the experiment until I DO get the same result.
You shouldn`t. You should also consider the possibility that Schroedinger was wrong or not completely right.

You don`t do experiments to make results fit theory. You make theory fit the results of experiments.

The chances are that you`re doing something wrong, given how often the results have been verified, but you shouldn`t assume your results are wrong. You may have found conditions under which the theory doesn`t wholly apply.
Anyone who has ever built a computer knows that no two run the same. I have built a few
Two identical computers running identical software run the same.

I have built many. I taught a PC hardware course for 5 years. I know what I`m talking about.

The problem is that you`re thinking two computers are identical when they are not. You`ll have some different parts and/or some different software (e.g. different driver versions, different BIOS settings, different configuration in the OS, etc, etc). There are many possible areas of variation. In addition, there are usually some variations in nominally identical components. For example, I have the main bus on my motherboard set to 400MHz. It`s actually running at 400.9MHz. On another board of the same model, a setting of 400MHz would probably result in a slightly different bus speed. Many things are set relative to that bus, so they`d al vary.
That says go and "TEACH" meaning this is for the people who already believe.
Teaching tends to be something you do to people who DON`T already know. At school, did your teachers only teach maths to the pupils who already knew it?

The whole point of teaching is to introduce knowledge the pupil lacked. Saying that this verse refers to telling Christians about Jesus is ridiculous.
Notice how it says "Babtizing". Now Bobby if I came along and dunked you under the water without your consent then I would probably get beat up.
That actually already happened to me, when I was a child. Shortly after birth I was baptised into the Roman Catholic church - clearly, without my consent (in my opinion, amounting to theological rape).
I can assure you, at no point did I beat up the priest. Nor have I since sought him out for a subsequent beating.

Christians would be a lot easier to respect if they made their mind up. Are you guys supporting the Ghandi-John-Lennon-Jesus thing where it`s all hippy peace and love and turn the other cheek, the meek will inherit the Earth etc? Or is it the Almighty God-Noah-Flood the planet-Sodom and Gomorrah, turn people to pillars of salt, Crusades thing?

Christians, you simply can`t have it both ways. Make your mind up. You`re not allowed to say homosexuality is evil, unless you stop also stop cutting your hair and wearing polyester-cotton underwear. It`s in the same chapter. Stop being drating hypocrites. Pick a path, and stick to it. .

You know what Jesus said about homosexuality? drat all. Not a word. And Ghandhi said: "I like your Christ. I don`...t like your Christians."

On one hand, some Christians pick and choose the verses from Leviticus which rail against homosexuality, while in the same breath telling us how Jesus removed the Old Covenant and replaced it with the New. Leviticus was full of all kinds of weird poo, it was written in the Bronze age.

Having said that, I`m baffled as to why (some) Christians rail against gay marriage, when a few verses later the same book tells you how you`re not allowed to eat shellfish, cut your hair, or wear clothes made of two different materials.

Make your frigging mind up, Christians. Either Jesus came to renew your poo and make you a bit less retarded, or he didn`t.

@fatpill: If you have proof of the existence of God, you are claiming to work within the bounds of logic. Educated people are generally able to understand logic. Are you able to argue for the existence of God within a logical framework or not? If not, you need another word other than proof. You need to say that your faith, or whatever reason you have, has given you your knowledge of God.

I will say, though, that many religious philosophers have come to the conclusion that a perfect, all-good God would shape the world in such a way that the laws of nature and logic provide true knowledge. Descartes came to the conclusion that a good God would have to provide a framework in which using his reasoning abilities properly would lead to true knowledge. Aquinas argued that one can gain knowledge of God through studying his creation, nature.

“If I were to perform Schrödinger`s experiments, I would receive the same results. If I didn`t, I would`ve done something wrong and keep trying the experiment until I DO get the same result.”

Actually, this isn’t how you’re supposed to perform science. You try to get your conditions as similar to the original experiment as possible, but, if you get a different answer, you don’t try to *make* your answer the same as the original experiment because that is begging the question. If you continually get a different answer, you either have to pinpoint another variable that would make it different or you have to conclude that there was a flaw with the original experiment. Scientists are people, too; they can make mistakes.

If you must know...

No. I haven`t. And I haven`t performed any of the experiments that Einstein did either.

But I have built a computer. And a friend built a computer with all the same model parts. And they both performed at the same frame-rate while playing the same game (within a margin of error, of course).

I`ve also stuck dry ice in water buckets. More than once. And always gotten the same result: a ton of fog. Which proves that when something is REAL, doing the same thing twice will get the same result.

Where`s your experiment that I can do to find your proof in god?

After all, if something`s REAL... You know the rest.
It was an answer to this statement you made
Let me put it in the form of a question. What am I getting evidence of when I learn to drive? There is no "proof" that I acquire when I get a driver`s license, so your analogy does not work.

If you actually had proof you wouldn`t keep it to yourself and you certainly wouldn`t be apprehensive of how it was received. If you were, it wouldn`t be proof. I`m getting bored with you side-stepping the question so if you have proof, give it up already, but don`t keep blaming me for your own selfishness. Countless people besides myself on this site could benefit from your proof but you don`t want to because you think I`m not going to believe you. Not a very Christian thing to do, is it?

You have no experiments for me to test the existence of god.

You have no test results, no chemical formulas, no variables, no... Well, anything.

You have a book, the results of which you can`t replicate because you`re not Jesus.

You`re running ENTIRELY on faith. I`m running on the fact that, if I did the same things, I would get the same results.

If I built two computers with the same parts, they would perform the same.

And herein lies where you FAIL at science.

If I performed the same experiments as a scientist, with the same variables and the same set-up, I would receive the same results. It`s like a chemistry set: you put the same chemicals into the same vial, you get the same mixture.

If I were to perform Schrödinger`s experiments, I would receive the same results. If I didn`t, I would`ve done something wrong and keep trying the experiment until I DO get the same result. If I never get the same result, I would pass along my results to someone else to test and see their results.

Yes, I would. Because it`s real. It`s fact. It`s natural, and can be proven again, and again, and again no matter how many times you destroy it.

If someone destroys the world`s most powerful super-computer, it could be re-built. It may take a long time, but it could. Because it is real. Because, whether we have it or not, it was real once and could be real again.

But what you have is a single thread that let`s you cling onto something that isn`t real, and you don`t want to show it to us because you know once that thread is gone you have nothing, because you can`t re-make something that was never there in the first place.

its all about context. at the time it forbade cutting yourself it was because the Israelites were around a culture that would cut and scar themselves when a relative died. They would bleed themselves in "honor" of the dead. Jewish rabbis often had scripture tattooed on their faces and hands. Tattoos as we know them are not prohibited by the bible.

Also, most of the levitican laws do not apply to Christians. The levitican laws are part of the covenant between Abraham and God. A new covenant was made with God through the crucifixion of Jesus. (1 cor 11:25). THe only old testament laws that Christians have to follow are the ones that Jesus actually talked about.

Allow me to rephrase the argument that you haven`t even tried to disprove.
1. Women had lower status than men in ancient Israel, they served their fathers untill their marriage, and then they had to serve their husbands, which includes having sex with them even if they did not want to, in other words, rape.
2. Because men had actual agency and status in society, that means that raping a man (i.e, lying with him as you would a woman) is an abominable act.
Therefore, that passage in Leviticus most likely. refers to the act of rape rather than consensual acts.

Do you think Jesus was white?

Again, grammar fail, there should be a question mark since that wasn`t a statement, but whatever.

Now, the reasons behind your numbers vary greatly.

For one thing, historically you`ve had a talent for shoving yourselves down people`s throats.

Also, I wonder how many of those billions are true, perfect practitioners of the faith and how many are just Christians in name only.

I`d say it`s the easy way out. Think about it: You can get away with pretty much anything if you beg forgiveness. So instead of owning up to what you`ve done, just beg jeebus to apologize to daddy for you. There aren`t as many rituals, rules, or rights of passage to becoming a Christian. On top of that, you`ve kind of stolen every single holiday that once belonged to other religious groups.
People read your Bible it says one key phrase. "FOR THE DEAD"
There`s a thing called grammar. Let`s check the quote here...

"Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves."

Now, let`s just break that down a little. It says "Do not cut your bodies for the dead, OR put tattoo marks on yourselves..." In other words, don`t CUT yourselves for the dead...

BUT...

The tattoo marks are separated, and therefor aren`t limited to just being "for the dead."

Conjunction placement is crucial. Had it said "Do not cut your bodies OR put tattoo marks on yourselves for the dead," then you would be right.

But you`re not. So this guy`s still retarded.

On top of that... Angillion is right, this is a translation of a transliteration of a transliteration, and the meanings could be COMPLETELY different for all we know.

Anyway, you are a Christian and I am a lost soul. It is your duty to try to save me regardless of whether you think I am a lost cause. That is why I call your position apathetic and it is why I do not think you, like most self-proclaimed Christians, are really a Christian. The actual meaning of that verse is unclear. It is not as stated here - that is an English translation and interpretation of ancient Hebrew and of ancient Jewish society (for context). There are several different possible translations and interpretations.

"Hey, I have an idea! Let`s all argue about Leviticus and whether or not you can follow some parts and not others because we`re going to change each others opinions with a flame war."

Great idea, I`ll start... go kill yourself.

"That passage does not prohibit gay marriage, it prohibits gay lying down... Doesn`t even mention gay sex or gay sleep."

And it`s a pretty pointless passage too.

I mean, everyone knows that us gayers sleep and have sex hanging upside down like bats. Geez!

It`s like they don`t even know us at all. XD

"Just for the record. Leviticus 19:27 states that men aren`t supposed to trim their sideburns and beards either. So for people who want to put other people down for getting a tattoo, you cant just pick and choose what laws you want to follow in the bible."

We`re putting them down for not practicing what they preach.

We`re putting them down for ignoring their own rules whilst they yell at the rest of us when we ignore them.

We`re putting them down for beating the rest of us around the head with that bloody book of theirs, demanding that we respect and obey it as the word of god...whilst they themselves ignore the bits of it that they personally disagree with.

We`re putting them down for that reason. Because they can`t have it both ways. Either they obey the whole lot, or they pick and choose...and have to accept that the rest of us are equally entitled to pick and choose, and we`ll choose differently.

So, what do you think of them Yankees? "

I think the Yankees are gay, but I`m okay with it.
********

But they Yankees shall not lie with each other as they lie with their female fans. for that is a sin.

"Why are some of you getting so riled up about the commenters repeating each other?
This is the comments section. It`s not a message board. A lot of people don`t read what everyone else wrote before them before they make a comment of their own (obviously).

Chill out.
And seeing as there`s actually nothing funny, interesting, or ironic about this picture, what else do you expect people to post about here anyway?"

Being as this is a comment section, and not a message board, I had no idea you said that before coming here. So I`ll just go with "caption fail".

Being "Pro-Gay" means that you are gleeful, jovial, glad, joyous, happy, cheerful, sprightly, blithe, airy, light-hearted; vivacious, frolicsome, sportive, hilarious. However, in addition to its original and continuing senses of “merry, lively” and “bright or showy,” gay has had various senses dealing with sexual conduct since the 17th century. A gay woman = a prostitute, a gay man = a womanizer, a gay house = a brothel.

there are plenty of passages in the body that say things like "thou shall not mark they temple" and stuff like that

thats probably why it hurt like a bitch when i got a cross of all things tattooed on my back...

I feel like someone who believes in this SO MUCH that they get it written on their body permanently, probably has bigger issues than any gay,bi,trans individual. Just a hunch.
