Q: How Did Knights In Armor Urinate? [Pic]

Submitted by: Cindy75 6 years ago Weird

Well, how do you think they would have done it?

Definitely looks like tournament armor anyway, you can tell by the upraised shoulder piece on the side facing the oncoming jouster. Not too mention the custom gauntlet for lance holding.

I don`t think it mattered much how they urinated, they only wore the armor in combat, bloody, brutal combat.
I`m sure you can guess they didn`t much care about pissing themselves

Nah, it`s not for peeing into, it`s just a codpiece. Knights would wear one to show how astoundingly massive their dicks were (I guess machismo hasn`t changed much in 1000 years).

I was just down at the Tower of London today... This is a pic of King Henry VIII`s codpiece.

Yet according to some sources he was hung like a mouse.

@LordJim - Thank you - that`s the best random nugget of information I`ve gotten in a long time!

And why do you all know so much about armor?

my point being, the knight probably had plenty of time to schedule a potty break while wearing this set.

In more conventional armor, access to the groin was certainly there, but I don`t know whether the knight`s garments below their armor would allow for speedy voiding should the need arise.

this suit looks setup for tournament melee. You don`t typically see fully laminar tassets (hip armor), especially not joined to the cuisses (thigh armor.) The only exception I can think of is 3/4 armor, which this is not. You also don`t normally see cuisses protecting the backs of the thighs for mounted combat. There was little need. Cod pieces were right out for mounted combat.

they didnt do it for protection then genuinely did it to make themselves seem more manly

They just let it go, and crapped in their armour too. The squire cleaned it up later. According to `Worst Jobs in History` anyway.
