I guess with your handle name. Your being sarcastic about Persia being fair and equal, and a blessing to all the slaves under the Persian kings. Building all those monuments to mankind under the whip. Ask the Immortals how fair and equal it was against the Spartans.
Persia was one of the greatest civilizatiosn to bless this planet, modeled around a fair equal and free place for all peoples to live. the only reason it ever fell was because the ottomans conquered persia converting the country to muslim it`s been down hill since then.
So, how does this contradict anything I said?

Lol @ razlem. Actually, all we`d have to do is deprive them of all non-Muslim technology, and they`d be there now.

@oldollie back when europe was just realizing that smaking two stones together mad fire the persians(iranians) had already built huge domes gardens and unviersities dedicated to learnign and understanding. Persia was one of the greatest civilizatiosn to bless this planet, modeled around a fair equal and free place for all peoples to live. the only reason it ever fell was because the ottomans conquered persia converting the country to muslim it`s been down hill since then. I find it astounding that 50+ person is so ignorant to history but i guess thats the best you can expect from a midwest american

Okay, they might succeed in overthrowing their current dictator, but the idea that these orks will ever organize themselves into anything resembling a civilized society is absurd. It`s never happened, and nothing about them has changed to indicate that it ever will.

One of the rare cases when Muslims have overthrown a dictator was Iran in 1979, and they ended up being even worse off under the Ayatollah. They have no concept of true republican government. How can you have a civilized society based on the rule of law when your underlying code of law, Sharia, is wholly barbaric?

The BEST these people can hope for is a military dictatorship. More than likely, though, they`ll get the common form of third-world democracy - one man, one vote, one time - and that will be completely rigged. Then it`s three more generations of despotism.

The best thing we can do is make sure they understand that if they start any $#!+ with us, we`ll bomb them back to the stone age.

Revolution is a beautiful and sometimes necessary part of government. However one thing that is not necessary is the beating/killing of civilians or of officers of the law. I only hope these revolutions and uprising`s happen with a bit more humanity in the future.

Americans get so pissed off about our politics. But LOOK AT THIS. Look at what is spreading amazingly across the middle east. We`re not talking democracy. It is but revolution.

An impressive force, one to which I am foreign.
Absolutely terrifying. That`s why you need to be positive you know what you`re fighting for. Are you keeping the peace or waging war on the public?
I have a lot of respect for the police and military. I think the very best of human nature motivates the majority of people who choose that line of work in a free society. But if you don`t draw a line at what laws you`re willing to enforce, what orders you`re willing to follow, and at what cost, you may end up doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons. At that point, it`s the public`s responsibility to stop you, preferably non-violently, but sometimes that isn`t enough, like if your state is run by a dictator who is dedicated to the use of violence to keep themselves in power. "Come on people, they were doing their jobs."
So were the guys running the trains to Auschwitz.
"Beating them half to death, if not the whole way. Pretty terrifying if you`re the cop."

Just to clarify, Iran is not Arabic or Middle Eastern, they are Persian and speak Farsi. They are also mainly Shia, whereas the remaining Muslim world (except for half of Iraq) is Sunna. This isn`t sectarian or radical Islam, it is a fight against nepotism, corruption, and absolute rule.

As America was birthed fighting these very causes we should all embrace and support our fellow humans fighting the same struggle.

As for Rick, the video you watched was probably just more of the same misinformation that fuels rednecks and Al-Qaeda alike.

Islam is just as compatible with Democracy as any of the big three. Catholics do not want to pass laws that are against God, such as gay marriage. Neither would Muslims. In the Qu`ran verses 3:159, 42:38, 16:90, 5:8 all could be interpreted as advocating democracy.

I wonder if the Middle East will sort itself out- Tunisia seems to be ok, hopefully Egypt and Libya will work out. If Iran follows it will be good- they do actually want democracy.

This is like watching the nature channel. You feel bad for the gazelle when it gets attacked by the lio0, but then you feel bad for the lion when he gets attacked by the crocodile.

What a weird caption!
Anyhow, those thugs, er police, were beating some folks and the majority thought they should stop. I love how some of the pigs run for it! lolz! Disgusting, "they`re just doing their job" and the crowd did it`s job!

personally..i think this will make every country worse..take a moment this weekend to watch this last week`s episode of frontline (2nd part) on the islamic brotherhood very disturbing..basically just switching radical leadership to those more intent on killing the jews...not that i care so much as they are more racist than anyone but none the less..the only way to solve the issue now is nuke testing ;)
should have let hitler wipe out the whole middle east in the first place and we would have none of these problems today

I would have left that as the subtitle. Making light of serious issues with gaming references FTW.

@Rick_S: "...why are all these Islamic countries protesting against their current governments and demanding freedom?"

Assuming by "freedom" you mean democratic reforms, I`m not sure that`s what most of the protesters are asking for. Yes, they want a less oppressive regime, but that doesn`t mean they want democracy. Much of it could be Sunni vs. Shiite, or just "My Imam is smarter than your Imam." The middle east is scary complicated.

What I find interesting about all of this involves the the freedom these people are protesting for. I remember seeing a video (I thought it was here, but couldn`t find it in a quick search) that claimed that Islam believes democracy to be a sin. Well, if that`s the case, why are all these Islamic countries protesting against their current governments and demanding freedom?

It`s great to see the Arab world taking matters into their own hands and kick out the dictators. We in the west should support their cause and cut all ties with these dictators. We should have never done business with them in the first place.

The motorbike dudes are some of the worst agents of the Ayatollah regime. They randomly kill and beat protesters and then they speed away on their bikes. If the protesters get their hands on one, i assume that they are buried in an endless deepness of ye old poo... :-)

Good to see it finally happening.
They`re too busy fighting themselves to attack us.
