I`m not really sure how to respond to this. I know it makes me angry, though.

I still cringe when I see this. Private security or Police, they could have made it through without driving like an idiot.

That may make this more than just a protest.... Egypt is on the brink of full blown civil drating war. Whoever ran those people over is lacking some serious ethics/morals.

I am happy that technology like cellphone cameras can help get images like this to the world - it is much harder today to isolate a country. (Although Mubarak`s regime certainly tried.) Pictures affect people more deeply than words.

The problem vols is the same with everywhere in the ME. The Egyptians who are rich enough or powerful enough to do that are one of three things:

1) In Mubarak`s pocket
2) In the Army, which is on the fence
3) In another country, feeling for their countrymen who couldn`t afford to move.

So you have a mass of people with no leadership, and a whole lot of anger. Kind of like the Tea Party on steroids.

Sadly the closest group to fit that description is the Muslim Brotherhood, and their forming of a government wouldn`t be good for anyone involved. We can only hope that Baradei steps in and becomes Egypt`s Washington, but were he to do it now with Mubarak still firm, he would disappear quickly.

What I don`t get is why the opposition hasn`t put together an interim government yet. They don`t need Mubarek`s permission (by stepping down or leaving) to do that. He obviously doesn`t have the legitimacy from the people. Unless they want to live in anarchy for the next decade like Somalia, they had better get it done quick before the supplies and infrastructure are depleted from the lack of production during the riots.

"This is sick. and Calummac, the fact that you could say that just shows that your age group 13-17 is your actual age range. This world would be complete crap if nobody `cared` about others."

Lol because Calummac is a troll

If this doesn`t put your trivial daily issues into perspective (getting upset at bad drivers, life being ruined because of a bad hair day, etc) then I don`t know what will. They have to worry about getting run over by the cops and I just have to worry about them not finding my stash.

To translate, basically the guys recording the video start yelling "Infidel son of a bitch" to the car, or more literally "Non-believing children of female dogs"

Then they start chanting Fall Fall Hosni Mubarak.

But Egyptian is not my dialect. Ani Iraqiyya!

Masha`allah that is horrible. I cannot even comprehend it. And as a fairly violent minded militant American myself, that`s a shock. What can you say though, senseless things like this happen in any country when the people revolt. The British weren`t very nice to us, we weren`t very nice to the South, what do you expect from a real dictatorship?

On an unrelated note, Egyptian Arabic sounds very funny to me. But at least they don`t speak like the Lebanese `men`.

Why should the rest of the world care. It`s their country. Let the police and Government do what they think is best.

...
When the police attach civilians with such disregard, they become criminals. To compensate the civilians now need to create a new police force or militia to bring the organized crime to justice.

let me start with a disclaimer that I am NOT justifying the driver of the van at all... however, Look at the vid closer.

The protesters are moving one way and the van is going like a bat out`ta hell the other way. To get away from the center of the protest.

my guess is had they stopped to help the people the mowed down, the crowd would have torn them to shreds.

But still.... DAYUM! that`s rotten, just driving over the zombies like that!
