This video only proves that New England fans are whiny little girls who can`t admit defeat. You have the world champion Red Sox, the best-record-in-the-NBA Celtics, and one of the greatest NFL teams in history. Cry more.

The Chargers won the Superbowl of my heart anyway.

when time he stopped the recording at the 1 minute 22 second part and started again, and stopped it shortly after. When he presses play, is that not Joe Buck saying "thats a Giants time-out" thusly stopping the clock? and since joe buck said that and not troy, its possible for troy to miss that and be confused later when this guy says the clock should have been running.

lol it doesn`t matter what "time" it was, they scored before the time ran out (long before any 6 seconds) and then there was a last pathetic attempt by the patriots. Plain and smiple

agreed, giants win damn it, the refs don`t directly control the clock on a whim... I bet if you really looked into it, theres a reason for it.
Oh, and I`m a Packer fan, we lost our chance to the superbowl because of the giants, so dont plan on calling me on bias

This guy is a tool. I uploaded the rule book here:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/89301068/200...

If anyone wants to take a look and see what we can find to shut this guy up. If there was actually a problem with the timing then im sure there would be riots in Boston. This guy just cant accept the fact that the Giants outplayed the Pats. Trust me, if there was truly a problem with the play clock then there would be ALOT of people bitching and it would be in the news, not just some guy with a shtty mic and no time on his hands.

Drop dead you whiny non-nice individual. You forget to mention that of the 50 seconds that were "added by the refs" that the pats got to play 35 of them. So suck up a loss for once pussy like real people do here in new york and wait til next year punk. Brady let his frustration get the best of him and he sh*t the bed. end of story.

I don`t know about this jerk, but from what I can see when the clock "stops" without a timeout, there seems to be an issue between the refs on what should happen. That was evident when three of them were on the field trying to figure out what to do and the ref was "tapped". The other times the clock "stops" is when the Giants are clearly down for the count and some idiotic Patroit tries to rip the ball from the guy`s hands. Look, if anything the clock stops and time adds were on the PATRIOTS. Well, at least we know where the fans get it from I suppose. Both the team and the fans are a bunch of whiney ass children who get mad when they don`t get their way...

So, we`re supposed to believe that a `whiny New England fan` with a crappy TV (and lo def, but I digress), as well as, apparently, NO video authoring skills, as I had to strain to hear ANYTHING he said, managed to notice this discrepancy, but the coach, who has considerably more experience, and was actually ON the sidelines, DIDN`T notice it?

The clock stops at 1:22 because the officials are determining whether a first down is made and moving the chains (yard measuring chains). It`s normal to stop the clock in that situation. This guy is an idiot who knows nothing about football.

so am I supposed to be upset that the cheaters got cheated on? um no. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick can eat my dingleberries. 18-1. HAHAHAHA. Thing is, I`m not exactly happy with the outcome, I`m an Eagles fan and I can`t get over the fact that Sheli Manning won super bowl and Donavan McNabb can only throw up. If this guy really wants to cry, try moving down here to Philly. We have everything to cry about, not Boston Fans.

Yes, the clock was stopped because it wasn`t immediately clear whether Jacobs made the first down or not. They may not have actually brought the chains out to measure, but the ref still interrupted play in order to accurately determine if spot of the ball was good for a first down.

And the whole "15 yard penalty for tapping the ref on the shoulder because he wanted to call a timeout because this is the FRIGGIN` SUPER BOWL!" thing is just desperation. This guy probably bought that "19-0" book that was on here yesterday and tries to convince all his friends that the Patriots really ARE 19-0. That`s a bad case of denial.

I wanted new england to win just so now we don`t have to listen to all the bitching that is sure to follow. New england did get robbed out of many calls, but the fact is, Belicik blew the game by going for it on fourth and 14 when he was on like the 35 yard line. That field goal lost them the game. As well as Samuels missing the wide open pick on the giants game winning drive. Or maybe somehow the patriots line not being able to get any pressure the whole game, and stopping the giants from getting them.

you wanna talk about rules? what about when the Pats should have lost earlier this season against the Ravens when the assistant coach called a timeout right before the Ravens stopped the Pats on 4th and 3. The rulebook says that only the head coach or a player on the field may call a time out. So even if they did get ripped by a few calls. It has happened all season to their opponents..

People aren`t out to murder over this, it`s just people talking about what happened in a game.

If someone out there doesn`t like that they have all the freedom in the world to stay away from game threads. Because really, theres nothing more interesting to a sporting fan than a bunch of teenagers proclaiming something to be stupid because they say it is so.

The Pats roosteriness turns to whining lol. If the clock would have continued to run dont you think the Giants would have spiked the ball or hurried? If there was only 2 secs left would Eli just scramble? This video proves nothing. If anything they got 10 extra secs and gave 35 of them to the pats. The pats D didnt hold em all there is to it. This guy should worry about something important.. like the 911 conspiracy.

VONLINE has it correct. The ref`s stopped the clock to determine if a first down was reached. The other clock stoppages were due to first downs gained also. The clock is stopped until the ball is placed and the chains are relocated. The clock starts when the ref standing over the ball blows his whistle and indicates with a winding motion for play and the clock to resume. The six seconds were added due to the clock stopping late when they were trying to determine the first first down.

BTW, you being a yankees fan (assumably) and having your team lose to the Indians (HAHAHAHAH), I don`t think you should be talking that much spite to Red Sox Nation. I`m not an expert on the timing in the NFL, but he could be right about that first long waste of time. After that, it appears the time was pretty close to correct. The fact remains, that people react to the context. Do you really think they wouldn`t have called a different play if they were down to less than 10 seconds on the clock instead of having all kinds of breathing room?

It`s ok if the Pats cheat, but if there is some confusion in relation to the time that may or may not be deliberate and that may or may not have directly influenced the outcome of the game, outcomes the kitchen timer.

10 seconds doesn`t matter at all considering the Pats played for the last 35 or so of them. Regardless, the rules weren`t grossly ignored, Coughlin came out to the field because every friggin ref, including the line refs were out on the field so the only way to let them know to take a time out was to go out there.

Second, at 1:22, the refs are clearly deciding the spot of the ball, how can anyone play while they`re deciding that? Within the last 2 minutes of the half, no challenges can be played, so their assesing the situation in order to avoid it from upstairs.

Learn to take losing gracefully. Lets face it, the pats sucked ass in the game.

Everyone forgive me for wasting your time reading this if it`s already been posted. But, I have proof this guy doesn`t know what he`s talking about. Rule 4, section 3 artical 7. NFL rule book. Automatic ref time out when any "posibility of" (not actual) measurement for first down. So, the time out had to be called (and it was) while the ref ran out to see where th ball was downed. That negates this guys whole argument.
Not that anyone cares about my opinion, but I don`t think the Pats deserved to even be IN post season play. They got caught cheating the first game, and who knows how many they didn`t get caught at. I`m convinced that if they hadn`t cheated, they wouldn`t have had a 16-0 season in the first place. Even lowly Miami held them to a lousy FG.

When your team starts cheating at the beginning of the season, you really can`t complain about your opponent trying to get the attention of a ref for a timeout. Also, American Football may include more padding but the hits are harder and the players are bigger--the padding actually encourages this. I`m not about to call them pussies for wearing protection, too many people have been killed playing it in the past; I won`t go around saying these people should act like idiots.

Ill tell you exactly why the clock was stopped first of all the ref checked the chains without bringing them out, also called a referees time-out. Also has anyone heard of Delay Of Game? Almost every play beyond the first down the Patriot players were literally holding the Giants down. A peneltay should have been called so at the very least they stopped the clock. And Coughlin touching the ref? you completley contradicted yourself! First you criticize him for "not taking a time-out" THEN FOR TAKING ONE! whats he supposed to do sit around with his thumb up his ass? BTW while we`re on conspiracies did anyone else notice it looked like Brady was on PCP during the pre-game?

Personally, i am a Chargers fan. And i was also very sceptical about the way the clock was running during the last 2 minutes of the game. Wasn`t the very next play the touchdown play from Manning to Plaxico? So if you do add even 1 more second for error, the Giants still win the game. Maybe i`m wrong. But all i can say is the Patriots starting celebrating a win when Moss scored. What the Giants did was an INCREDIBLE comeback. I hated to see the Patriots lose and go down in history, but they slacked off at the end of the game as if their win was guaranteed and secured.

i`m sorry but i`m a pats fan. they were having a LOT of problems with the clock through the entire game, by halftime they had gotten it on what i took to be the right time, but maybe it wasn`t. still, i didn`t see any problems with the clock until the last couple minutes, when i noticed the same thing this guy did. i would like to believe the patriots should be the winners, but i don`t think i can until this guy does this little experiment with the whole game. he could be right, and by the way, buck did say the giants took a time out near the beginning, but he then said that they didn`t and they were never charged the clock was messed up at the end, there`s no denying it

And off topic but still valid. I`m not a Giants fan, so those who say they suck should think again. They won a fricking Superbowl!! They defeating really tough teams to get to where they were and i congratulate them for it. Okay, and the Giants would have just managed that drive the same way as they did had the time been kept according to the video creator. They could have hit Plax or Toomer in stride over the middle for six points, Eli could have fumbled it away and blown the game. It`s impossible to tell what would have happened. The Giants would have played that out completely differently. Oh, and of course, a Pats fan couldn`t blame the O-Line for giving up five sacks, or going for that fourth and a mile instead of opting for a field goal. Of course the world was against New England and this is just proof that Eli Manning and the Giants would have played how they played if the time was kept on a kitchen timer. Oh, and Randy Moss being wide open for a touchdown after a cornerback slipping couldn`t possibly have gone any other way. He couldn`t have deflected it away and denied the Pats a TD. They`d have just punched it in for sure. I`m sick of Patriot fans. He has proof, but that`s how it happened.

He is wrong. His claim is that the clock should not have been stopped on the 4th and 1 that was made by New York. The referees can stop the clock for a measurement (not necessarily chains). The referees thought they needed a measurement with chains but decided they didn`t. The refs needed time to figure it out. It would have been wrong to run the clock. If they had not stopped the clock a timeout would have been taken, 40 seconds would not have come off. He complains about Coughlin coming on the field to call time. If the refs had been on their toes, he wouldn`t have had to do that. That cost NY time. If anything the rule needs changed about measurements to always stop the clock on 1st downs. But this didn`t even violate the rule. SOUR GRAPES

And about the 6 seconds added. This was due to the time it took the referees to figure out if a meaurement was necessary. That was fair. The spot was close enough to warrant clock stoppage for measurement, so it was stopped. It happens all the time and this is the first complaint I have ever heard because they didn`t actually walk the chains out. In retrospect, maybe they should have walked the chains out just to keep whiners from whining.

Pal i know you`re angry about the loss, but get this.

OFFICIAL PLAYING RULES OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE Rule 4, Section 3,

Article 7 Play may be suspended by Referee (Referee’s Time Out) at any time without penalty to either team when playing time is being destroyed because of delay not intentionally caused by either team, provided it does not violate some specific rule.
    SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES
The following situations are automatic Referee’s time outs:
    (1) Where there is a change of possession. The game clock will start on the snap.
    (2) ANY POSSIBLITIY OF A MEASUREMENT FOR FIRST DOWN OR IN CONSULTING THE CAPTAIN ABOUT ONE.
( 3) Any time the player who originally takes the snap is tackled behind the line of scrimmage.Prior to the two-minute warning, the Referee will restart the clock after the ball has been properly spotted.

Troy Aikman sounded confused, you said it.

C`mon the Giants won and are well deserved SB Champs.

Blocking for Brady was non-existent! The Giants won the game fair and square! Can we move on now? Not everyone whines about a loss. My house was yelling at the TV! What is even more absurd is the fact that the Patriots were extremely lucky to be undefeated up to that game. They were a top notch team this year, but a 13-3 quality team, 14-2 at best. They were outplayed by Indianapolis who lost on a fluke tipped ball and a hail Mary that followed. They were beaten by Ravens but given 2 more chances to win, one by a bad call from the referees, the other by a goof by coach. I am told that the Giants and Eagles games were decided by bad calls by the referees at the very end of the game also. So for most of us to hear that there was a conspiracy againt the Pats during a year when even the ref`s were on their side is absurd.

I was probably to critical of New England. They were the most consistent team this year. Indianapolis was the strongest early but a key injuries hurt Indy. New York was the strongest team late in the year. I would rate NE as a typical good 14-2 team, but not the "best ever" or close. They never dominated good teams. It always came down to the wire against good teams, and their luck ran out in the big game.

My opinion of what cost NE the superbowl was a case of over-inflated egos. There they were undefeated, being compared to the best teams ever, while having won 4 games through lucky breaks. The defense did not have the intensity that they should have. Manning wouldn`t have gotten that pass off against his own defense! It seemed like some players were playing at about a 90% level and expecting another win to fall in their lap.

the rules DO state that the refs can stop the clock within the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter for whatever reason, which means they really could have easily swayed toward one side or the other. all in all it looks like the game should have been over, when the gameclock still had 50 seconds left. to the guy who mentioned how the pats had the ball for 35 of those 50 seconds: thats not the point the creator of this was trying to make. the 15 seconds the giants did have the ball shouldnt have even been played. i dont see the pats getting any worse next year, which probably means another superbowl appearance, and another superbowl win.

And one more reason. Don Shula. He is the type of old-school honest ethical coach that EVERYONE respected. I remember the 72 Dolphins, and when Don Shula wasn`t hated by anyone that I can recall. Other examples Joe Gibbs, Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi. He was 100% right in his comments too, and not out of sour grapes like this video. Don Shula was in the announcer booth when the Ravens got screwed by the refs (more than once) at the end of that game. Try putting yourself in his shoes, watching his record get tied by a team that cheated and by all rights lost to the Ravens.

Let me correct myself, Bellicheat cheated. The rest of the team was innocent. And it is a top notch group of players (Pats). As much as I would congratulate the Giants of 2007, the Giants of the late 80s had some scandals under Parcells and Bellicheat. There was some scandal about a Soviet Olympic coach who was an expert in masking Steroid usage. Then a few years later some lineman(men) died of cancer. That wouldn`t go on with a team coached by Shula, Landry, Lombardi, Gibbs, etc.

    from the nfl rulebook:

Rule 4, Section 5, Article 5 expressly permits a Referee`s timeout "when there is the possibility of a measurement for a first down, or if the Referee is consulting with a captain about one."

You`re wrong. The referee was perfectly in his rights to stop the clock after the Jacobs run, despite the fact that no measurement was ultimately taken.

Rule 4, Section 5, Article 5 expressly permits a Referee’s timeout “when there is the possibility of a measurement for a first down, or if the Referee is consulting with a captain about one.”

Stupid Pats fans. Boo hoo hoo. Wait, it`s a rule.

Rule 4; Section 5; Article 5 permits a referee`s time out "when there is the possibility of a measurement for a first down, or if the Referee is consulting with a captain about one". In fact, the clock should have stopped at 1:28, not 1:22, which is why they added those six seconds to the clock later. This guy talks like he knows something, but that`s as far as it goes. Another wanna be football fan. What a crybaby who spells "were" "where".

ok, well if you know football at all, the ref can stop the clock at the end of a play, even if you do not take a measuremet, you are allowed to stop and take a look at it at the referee` discrestion. Secondly, if you watch the film, tom coughlin doesnt hit the referee, he goes up to him and tries to call the timeout, the referee to his right, our left, pushes him out of the way.

CHEATERS NEVER WIN! Patriot fans, while we`re talking about "Patriots" & "Robbery". Let`s talk about the Eagles/Pats Super Bowl. The first half was a pretty fair game. In the 2d half, the Philly player remember how the Pats were somehow calling the "perfect" plays EVERY play. Then, we find out a few years later, that the Pats have been illegally video-taping hand signals-(they received a memo to this effect at the beginning of the season). At the time, we were all lead to believe that the Patriots were "really good", only to find out that the reason they were "really good" was because they knew exactly what play the opposing team was going to audible into. Hmmmm? Interesting, is it not?
WHAT YOU HAVE WITNESSED DURING THE LAST SUPER BOWL WAS POETIC JUSTICE. Chew on it!! Then swallow it! If you`ve ever played sports, I`m sure you`ve heard the expression, "The ball never lies." Can you taste it? Good.

So, let me get this straight. You seem to thing that over 50 seconds were given to the Giants on one play? I think that is what I heard. The most that would run off on any one play would be 40 seconds before there would be a penalty for delay of game. I understand that you are listening to what the annoucers are saying, and being a Cowboys fan I have a lot of respect for Troy Aikman, but they are annoucers, not officials!!!!!! The officials know when and why to stop the clock, what amount of time that should be run off, or added. Oh, and if you want something like this to be taken seriously, know the difference between "were" and "where".

hahaha, that is a great point i was going to make it myself(where and were).
First off...the clock is stopped anytime the refs need to talk about a play, so the clock was rightfully stopped.
2nd if the clock wasn`t stopped the giants would have used a timeout and would have still had plenty of time left to score their TD. As i recall it, the pats still had another possesion at the end of the game as well to try and get within field goal range.
3rd. You point out coughlin tapped the ref...and that`s a penalty, but since when does the NFL go back and review penalties, exactly they don`t. And in this kind of game they won`t call a flag on that.
4th. Even if your clock was correct(which i don`t believe is the case), it doesn`t matter because the game is allowed human error and human judgement. Also, the play when eli is tackled and the ball is in his legs...That could be delay of game on the patriots, when they try and take the ball they clock must be stopped.
    5th. You`re re

I am a Pats fan and although this is interesting we need to get over it and look back at one of the best seasons any football team has ever had. I would put this team up against any one and I am confident that the outcome would be in our favor. So lets stop whining and hope we can get back at NY with the Red Sox.

This makes a lot of sense... although the refs do have the right to stop the clock to disscus about the 1st down they should have started the clock right after the first down was called and not have added time...but you can`t really say the patriots would have won because plays would have been different due to the time and even if all the plays were the same the last play would have been a field goal with 4 sec left to put the game into overtime...which would have been awesome

The NE Patriots should be forced to have the 2002 (I think it was 2002) superbowl forfeited to the Rams for cheating. That is, if the investigations presently being reviewed by Congressman Specter find that they taped plays prior to that superbowl. Bellicheat has admitted to taping all the way back to 2000. He has had scandals follow him all the way back to the late 80`s Giants. Fire him!

ok the faggots can have the super bowl even though you have NO idea what would have happened if the giants knew they had less time. but then they dont go undefeated cuz there was at least three games the refs won for the patriots. including that bullpoo holding call when the ravens had them beat week 13.

dude the clock stopped at the beginning because the were deciding if they should bring the chains out or not. so they were right in stopping the clock there. and as for the coach "touching" the official, im pretty sure that means physically assaulting not running up and bumping into him. face the pats lost and they cheat so we don`t have to listen to all the bullpoo on if their record is real just like bonds with his HR record

Agreed it was justified to stop the clock after that first play. However that only accounts for maybe 10 seconds. How was there over 50 seconds extra time? How, after that long play where eli ran around and tyree made the amazing catch, was there one more second on the clock than before that play. To make it clear I am not a whiny Pats fan. I`m an Eagles fan and frankly hate both of these teams. All I am saying is that though the first play clock stoppage is justified, this video definitely raises some questions about how the rest of the time is managed by the refs.

    1. If you payed half as much attention to what really goes on in football then you would know that EVERY NFL TEAM SPYGATES. It was just Mangini being bitter and wanting to rat out his old coach. So stop with the "Pats cheated" excuse.
    2. Ok, clock should be stopped on the first play. But then the Giants don`t get to take their final timeout at the end of this video, Eli is forced to spike the ball. 3rd & 10 now with 35-38 seconds left. I like our chances at winning after that. Eli is not a good 2 minute drill QB so don`t bother debating that he would have successfully gone no huddle.

Giants have the right to hurry up to the ball and the ref was preventing that by trying to decide whether or not they were going to take a measurement.
