if you read the han solo trilogy it tells you that han bent space when he got too close to a black star. thats how he did it in 12 parsecs

lol..it`s funny because a parsec is a measure of distance....and he uses it as time...

@slab-of-rage

No. I was "parroting" a scientific fact.

The parsec (parallax of one arcsecond; symbol: pc) is a unit of length, equal to just under 31 trillion (31×1012) kilometres (about 19 trillion miles), 206265 AU, or about 3.26 light-years. The parsec measurement unit is used in astronomy.

Reading further down the page: "In the A New Hope novelization, Han says `standard time units` rather than `parsecs` and in the radio drama he says, `less than twelve time parts.`"

@Trojan: You know the only thing more annoying than people that unnecessarily correct others? Those that do it when they were wrong all along. Next time you call several people wrong, you may want to do a google first.

Everyone who says that Han was referring to distance when he said parsecs - you`re wrong. In the novel, or some other written work, he uses "standard time parts."

A parsec was a unit of distance, not time. Solo was not referring directly to his ship`s speed when he made this claim. Instead, he was referring to the shorter route he was able to travel by skirting the nearby Maw black hole cluster, thus making the run in under the standard distance. By moving closer to the black holes, Solo managed to cut the distance down to about 11.5 parsecs.

psychosax: "Parsecs is a measure of distance, not time. -_-

---Who`s to say that their warp drives didn`t actually fold space instead of just going really fast, and that the Falcon`s computer was uniquely fast enough to make some sort of on-the-fly calculations to safely make the Kessel run in that time?
