Why are they recreating the theme song? Shouldn`t they be cloning dinosaurs to take over the world?

Japanese people look funny playing the guitar, or maybe they just look funny altogether.

GAH NERDS

Really though the music is cool
Also why is a student conducting? Or is he just a really youthful instructor?

Good thing you said it was jurassic park, I would have thought it was from Robin Hood Men in Tights.

This is totally what we should have done in our guitar classes instead learning how to pathetically strum to `yellow submarine`

@numancha; The tuba part was actually a joke. I play the tuba, and most tuba players I know actually hold the horn on their lap, but you are right about being tough to move around. In school, our brass section always teased the violinists and flutists for being overly dramatic when they played. They just called us storm troopers for acting militaristic.

@Oldfrt;

It`s a way to keep time. It might be all out of sync, but each musician has different timing for that kind of thing. I`m in percussion and we move/bob to the beat (we call it pulsing), just to help keep time for ourselves.

And you would never see a tuba do that because you can`t really move your head when playing tuba since most of them rest it on their chairs. Ha. But besides that point, it`s probably because when you play a wind instrument, there`s a very specific posture for good sound quality, and it doesn`t leave much room for movement.

As for the video; I liked it. It was very pretty sounding. Not the sound I normally expect from guitars.

apocalyptic might have some competition in the classical/rock fusion.

Props to these kids, it is an awesome performance.

This brings up a question though: why do performers on string instruments, like these guys, as well as professional violinists for example, all look like bobble heads when they play? You never see tuba players bobbing around like that.

"Nice to see a highschool band that`s actually serious about music and sounds good >.> xcept the conductor looked like he was dancing and not actually conducting since he wasn`t really keeping time.."

I`m a conductor, even if no one here will believe that. If you have a good band with a well rehearsed piece, you don`t need a metronome out front. The conductor gives over things like phrasing and expression, that`s whats going on here.

Very nicely done, although they all look like clones.

This is one of my favorite songs. It sounds better with a full orchestra

Eh. It`s cute and fun, but it really isn`t as good as the full symphony orchestra version. The orchestral version is gorgeous and moving, this is just interesting for being an adaption of a good piece to another instrument it wasn`t written for.
