She doesn`t just speak for gay rights because her son is gay. She even explains her own reasoning and her concern for her son being treated as an issue rather than a person.

So the only person you would give props is someone who is opposed to gay marriage and has never encountered, heard or seen a gay person. And yet argue for gay marriage?

What? There`s no obvious bias, she isn`t pro gay marriage just because her son is a gay. She is for reasons of humanity and she learned this by having a son that is gay.

Pheeshy5 "I don`t understand why people care so much about gay marriage"

I`m in favor of same sex marriage, but I do understand the oposition to it.

They feel that redefining the traditional marriage devalues it and undermines the principals it is based on.

But I think heterosexuals like Brad Pitt, Tiger Wood, Bill Clinton, and all of the "Real Housewives" are undermining it just fine without help from gay people.

"Her son is gay? Well then of course she is in favor."

This is a fallacy. Look up circumstantial ad hominem. The fact that her circumstances are what they are has no impact on the logic of her argument. She gave reasons, so those reasons must be addressed if you wish to debate her logically.

"I will never see gays as a norm."

You`re Canadian. There are 34,356,000 of you. The world population is 6,900,200,000.

That means you, as a Canadian, are part of a group that makes up only 0.49% (less than half of one percent) of mankind.

Statistically speaking, YOU are more abnormal than gay people; even the lowest extreme estimates of homosexuality don`t put it anywhere near all the way down as uncommon as only 0.49%.

    So suck it.

@auburnjunky: Not to keep picking on you, but there is a biological use for homosexuality. Having members of a population that contribute to the community without taking the resources that are required to have children means that there are more resources available for the children of others in the community. If you have siblings who are producing offspring and you are gay, this isn`t that big a deal because your siblings` offspring are similar enough to you that your biological need for continuation of your genetics is fulfilled. This is why it is so interesting to me that the bodies of women who have several male children tend to feminize future male children, increasing the incidence of homosexuality. Assuming all or most of the children survive, it is the perfect set up from a biological perspective.

Not `norm` ? According to who and how did they get a Doctorate of Normal ?

Not `norm` ? Then why is homosexual behavior seen in all mammals? Dogs, apes, dolphins... even in birds. It`s a reoccuring theme in nature. It doesn`t need judgement, it`s natural.

"Then why is homosexual behavior seen in all mammals? Dogs, apes, dolphins... even in birds."

    There is a difference.

Humans "love" the same sex in certain cases.

Other animals engaging in homosexual behavior are getting their rocks off. Not once has an animal (besides Humans) been observed choosing a member of the same sex as a life partner.

Keep in mind, I support gay marriage, so keep the flames to a minimum. I know those facts aren`t popular.

@Green Batman and there is another "use" for homosexuality! It gets women pregnant... sort of.

"Female relatives of the homosexual men tended to have more offspring than those of the heterosexual men. Female relatives of the homosexual men on their mother`s side tended to have more offspring than those on the father`s side. The researchers concluded that there was genetic material being passed down on the X chromosome which both promotes fertility in the mother and homosexuality in her male offspring."

So maybe gay men are a product of a gene that makes women want/have more babies! Thus the gene is useful even if it doesn`t lead to procreation by the males the females make up for it! So the genes stick around!

People have been telling others what to do with their lives since the dawn of time. But it`s not playing God. It`s more of playing parent. Unless your parents never tried to tell you what to do or how you should behave.... In that case you`re probably gay.

A while ago some people came up with a concept that everyone is created equal. Apparently it only applies to white straight males.

There are no reasons gay marriage shouldn`t be allowed, some uptight religious pricks are using their power as a politician to stop it.

    I don`t hate religion, it`s the fan club I can`t tolerate.

And besides, if the church believes it`s a sin, and jesus died for our sins, then if we don`t sin; he died for nothing.

AuburnJunky "Mating for life is a social side effect. We are supposed to spread our seed to as many partners as possible."

So your argument is that monagomy is equally as unnatural as homosexuality.

Well then- if two straight people are allowed to commit to each other for life- why not two gay people? They are equal violations of the natural order- but only ONE is considered a social "norm."

P.S. I did read that you apparently support gay marriage, i`m not refuting this, mind, just doing a little "devils advocacy."

infantry0 said: "Gay people are mentally imbalanced. Any man with the desire to kiss another wiskered man and rub on his hairy a$$ and pole instead of a nice, soft woman is mentally effed up. just sayin`. Now, who`s gonna` be the first genius to tell me my IAB avatar is right on?"

I am. Wouldn`t have recognized you any other way.

This is the future that smidge47 and jtrebowski propegate. It is the liberal agenda to turn all men into a bunch of effeminate crybabies. Orlando Florida and England are full of these pussies. Now I emplore all gays to get back in the closet please before your disease infects my children.

Life without lesbians would be bleak, and I for one will never allow that to happen!

Oh infantry, sweety. 1. Most of the guys in the "men now" pictures aren`t gay. And 2. It`s about perspective. Example:

    Soldiers Now:

Entertainers then (by then I`m going to pre-WWII era):

    And yes, that`s a dude.

I appreciate that you`re probably a troll, but some people actually think like this. So shh.
