CrakrJak: I`m not saying that Sarah Palin is or isn`t classy because of what she wears, but because of who she is. I`ve never seen anything she`s done that make me believe she`s Presidential material, and that`s what I was getting at. I did a poor job of getting at it, but that`s what I was getting it.

PS: If she does run, I hope the first thing they ask her is "You quit your job as Governor of Alaska to pursue a job in television, both as a political commentator and a reality TV star. What do you have to say to the American People that will let us know you won`t do something similar if you are elected President."

He`s the president and he`s 2011. He doesn`t have to wear a tie all the time. And seriously, as a culture, maybe it`s time for us to start moving away from the tie. I think it reached its height in the 80s, and now it`s time for it to go.

Ingredients:
1 whole Liberal
1 stn Cable News (preferably Fox)
1 flk Sheep
Various Vices

Directions:
Start by sweating your 1 Liberal in a skillet over a medium fire. Now turn up the heat and season with your favorite vices. Wait until it gets burned by one of the vices and then quickly move it to Fox News. When you don`t see anymore signs of rational thought, you can then mix it in among the flock of sheep. Your conservative SavageNation is now ready to be served up in your favorite forum. Feeds any number of trolls.

Truly amazing how one comment only exposes you Liberals for the hate mongers you are....Of course when you speak its all Glory be praised but ANY opposing view why we must be burned at the stake. Proving once again, Liberalism is a mental disorder. As seen on CNN/MSNBC- No rating stations & where majority of American speak loud & clear that Obama continues to be a failure. Carry on now kids with your name calling & use crayon because that is all you portray to any opposing argument.

Wow, fair and balanced indeed. See instead of taking their time a choosing a moment where the president looks composed like they do with O Reilly, they instead chose to pick a moment where the president looked like a droopy eyed hobo in the middle of his interview with O` Reilly.
...
Is it still freedom of the press when someone else with a political agenda controls the news versus the government?
To me its just a change in who gets to tell the news what to say.....

It is a very simple If-Then equation. If this happens, it will cause this to happen. If taxes are lowered, people have more disposable income, but there are also unintended consequences. Since Federal tax rates have been relaxed, the states, counties, cities, and local municipalities have less income filter down from the feds. Therefore they have to increase fees, fines, and taxes to make ends meet. A huge reason we have so many government entities going bankrupt is not because they overspent, but because their budgets have been cut to the bone. Nationally, there are not enough Public Defenders, not enough child case workers, not enough police and fire personnel to adequately do the job. Therefore, things that should be done, aren`t being done, and an entire generation of Americans are being ignored. And Dear paco664, I hate to be the first to break it to you, but you are on the wrong side of history. Obama will be re-elected, probably by a larger margin than 2008.

Sounds like SavageNation has been drinking a little too much Kool-Aid. First of all, you cite no facts in your rant, just a bunch of strung together anti-Obama slurs, which you are entitled to of course, but lend no credence to your claims. How about some provable historical facts-1. Obama inherited this mess from the Bush years. 2. Things have improved since he took office 3. Most people, according to all the polls, like him and support most of his agenda. 4. More Americans have health coverage than at any time in history. 5. Historically, Conservative policies have never worked in any political spectrum (That`s never as in EVER)To be sure, Conservatives have had short runs of popularity and things go well for a while, but after a bit, people realize that even though they are paying lower taxes, the roads aren`t being maintained and they pay more to have their cars fixed, the homeless and those with less are more prevalent because the shelters are shut down, so crime rises.

hmm most unqualified president ever savagenation?
let me tell you about some other president then.
no political experience at all, won the presidency without an election, wasnt even born in the US (which you need to be if you wish to run for president), didnt even want the job, very little military experience and most of that was failures. and he still held office for 2 terms.

maybe youve heard of him? george washington?

ignoring your obvious spelling and grammatical errors even though they could greatly make a point about ignorant people hating obama for no real reason. where is your proof he has great disdain for anything about america? he grew up in america, his father was an immigrant trying to make a better life for himself and his mother was a white woman from kansas, 2 people that better symbolize what america is there is not. and what exactly does his lack of a tie on 1 occasion have to do with how he feels about america or how qualified he is to be president? its just a freaking tie! yes it would have been appropriate to wear one but completely unnecessary, just like that flag pin or a bow-tie or a bolo tie. its not like he did the interview without pants or something. thats like calling michael jackson unprofessional for only wearing 1 glove.

Why is FOX being lambasted here? Should he have a tie instead of some schlub who changed from the basketball court into street clothes. By far he is the most UNPROFESSIONAL, UNQUALIFIED President. Gimme a break to think anything else. No this is not about Prior Presidents or Left/Right wing-Its just simple common sense Obama has a GREAT distain for America, its foundation or tradition. Hence why his #s keep falling. It makes it all to apparent. This included.

Technically, as the president you are presidential no matter what you wear. Even naked at 2:30 AM you can send nukes anywhere in the world. Those who would give less respect to the office based on the clothes you are wearing are showing more about themselves.

Sadly too few Americans know how to separate the respect for the office with the disagreement of policies, from all sides of the spectrum. Being a casual football event, how are you going to eat pizza, chicken wings, and twice baked potatoes wearing a tie?

This interview was a complete embarrassment. O`reilly showed absolutely no respect to the President. And to ask the man "Do you know blitzes?" was just pathetic. Which is actually where I thought this post was going to be going...

Rick_S: Sarah Palin does not hold any political office at the moment. Also, She was criticized for the expensive dresses she wore while on the campaign trail in 2008 (Which were donated).

We live in 2011 now, Ties are no longer required apparel for interviews. As 5cats said, There are plenty of other reasons to dislike him, sans tie is rather captious.

When i lived in Europe, I had access to all kinds of news channels. I have most major U.S. news. as well as many European news channels. The different spins i heard on the same stories really brought home the effect political agendas and culture have on perspective. If you have 10 different people witness the same event, you will get 10 different but similar accounts. I have realized that for the most part the news focuses on the least important aspects of what is happening in the world, and is no longer meant to be informative, but instead is meant to get ratings...Also, with the exception of laws about slander, there is no law stating that "news" sources can`t knowingly and willingly misrepresent events, honesty is left up to the integrity of the journalist, the editors, and the producers. Considering they have a bottom line, and considering they are machines of profit, what on earth makes anyone think the news has anything to do with accurately reporting events?

The "no tie" look was carefully planned, and intended to show that Obama wasn`t working on major issues, rather, was just casually enjoying his Sunday and was planning to watch the Super Bowl just like a regular guy. A regular guy without a tie.

I worked for a regional publishing group for many years. Print news, not televised I know. Still, the idea that anyone thinks any news service is unbiased is laughed at by many in the news industry. Unbiased media is wishful thinking. Reporters have bias. Even more, so do the publishers and other power players behind the scenes. That`s why I try to watch news from several places and pay attention to how they spin their version of the news. Most of the time, the truth lies somewhere between all the agendas. Fox is ultra-conservative. Others are ultra-liberal. Frankly, I don`t think I trust either group.

I had to watch things like Fox News when I was married and went through things like their obsession with "missing pretty young white girls" while actual news went unreported.

It`s biased, annoying journalism. I confess, I DO like their anchors, but I was unimpressed with their version of the news.

Balanced enough for ya? And yes, even mentioning that the prez. is not wearing a tie is an annoyingly anal move, even for them.

@KPres, nice graphic there. I also like the link to the blog that reinforces your political view. If you are making the argument that people should watch a particular channel since it is more fair and balanced, then you`ll be switching to CNN, right? Because that graphic comes from this study:
http://www.journalism.org/node/13436
That study states, "CNN fell distinctly in the middle of the three cable channels when it came to tone. In general, the tone of its coverage was closer than any other cable news channel to the press overall, though also somewhat more negative than the media overall."

Don`t post links to blogs. Link to the actual study so people can see what bullpoo you are peddling for themselves.

@KPres, really? That is "proof"?

First of all, the CMPA who did the study claim to be non-partisan, but they`re not.

Second, there is a false equivalency here. Being fair and balanced to the parties does not mean it is good journalism. Giving equal time to evolution deniers, and climate change deniers, and supply side economists, and Christians, may get you the title of "fair and balanced", but does not earn you the title of "news".

Also, being fair to the Democrats will also leave you uninformed. Both parties spin the truth. A real news channel will check the facts before reporting it. That is something that you are less likely to find if you are watching cable "news" and especially Fox.

But my guess is that you really don`t care. You are looking for reinforcement of your views, not the truth.

In December, yet another study was published showing that Fox News viewers are significantly more misinformed than consumers of news from other sources. This corroborates two previous studies; in 2003 a similar study about the Iraq war showed that Fox viewers were less knowledgeable on the subject than average.

"I`m not too worried about MSNBC because their viewership pales in comparison to FOX. Any comparisons to CNN though?"

Then ignore the comparison. Even if you look at Fox`s coverage by itself, you can see clearly they were unbiased, in fact slightly more favorable to Obama (but basically a wash).

But the fact that MSNBC is so off the charts bias shows you how distorted the information that liberals get.

Also...

Most visited political website by liberals: The Huffington Post

Most visited political website by conservatives: Real Clear Politics (which shows one liberal story for every conservative story).

I hate the whole network entirely.

The fact the Surewhatever Hannity invites on a person who insists Obama is a Muslims repeatedly (even though Hannity dismisses the assertion). His show used to be Hannity and Colmes, sure as hell was the former`s as he never really "debated" with Colmes.
The fact the Bill O`RLY used the term "far left Nazis" a lot.
The fact the Glenn Blahblah... well I don`t where to begin. Most of the time he postulates the weirdest connections between various that none of them make any sense.

You know something that`s wrong? They didn`t even mention on air how Muslims were outraged at Osama bin Laden for his attacks on 9/11 and other groups for their attacks around the world in later years.
