Been there. When I was 7 I stepped on a hive and according to the doctors was stung an estimated 1200 times. Most of the stings were concentrated on my knees and elbows. Luckily my dad through me in the Mississippi river where I almost drowned. And to top the day off, I also picked up poison ivy.

@i-am-ninja Okay I`m going to refer you to the Bee sting wikipedia page because obviously you know nothing about Bee morphology. -.-;;

Please for the love of god click here.

@ Number43 Thanks to imaginative brain, you made my day! Ich laughed so hard! :-D

And I agree with runnning. I usually run like hell when a single bee comes near me (And by near, I mean "sitting on my mouth"-near), but it happens to get caught in the air flow I leave behind, and seems to follow me wherever I try to run.

Next week is a video where they all catch fire and begin running as fast as they can while throwing gasoline at each other.

Seriously, I`d run off because of 5 bees. A SWARM?! There`d be nothing left but a cartoon dust cloud in the shape of my body.

You`re really supposed to try to get as far away as possible, but laying down and covering your head is an effective and popular alternative, especially when dealing with an aggressive swarm.

I don`t understand laying on the ground. Are you suppose to?

@5Cats I believe honeybees are the only spp of bee to die after stinging a human because of the barbs on their ovipositer. Seems like it was a swarming because the bees were looking to colonize a new hive? They`re not usually agressive during swarming though.

vv not killer bees, they`d have stung them all & died in a minute (I think) the bees died I mean.
GET OFF THE FIELD!!! Idiots! You cannot argue with a huge swarm of bees.

Right, because bees can`t see you if you lie down? Why are they not running away?

so you know, instead of running inside to safety, lets just kneel outside on the field.

ryanhake- how so? they were being attacked by bees at an outdoor soccer field. What would you do? I honestly don`t know what they could have done differently. I`m assuming there was no "hide indoors" option. They are`t idiots. Plus, going inside probably would just lead the bees inside.

Why are they all running around, just stay still and do not swat. Laying down is good- the bees are unlikely to gather on you and will not sting unless you are a threat. But even walking slowly and steadily shoould be fine- bees won`t sting for fun.
