@Gerry1of1- watch the video again- it`s clearly not a nail. Like others have said- if you`re gonna talk poo, do it yourself, otherwise STFU.

@idiotfilter

Yeah I did! It was on the cinematic masterpiece "Twister" starring Bill Paxton
They also survived being in the middle of a tornado also. All science is based on that research today. Didn`t you know that?

@Handy-I think the big deal is that was a f*@#%ng guy throwing it. Not a tornado.

@postmaster - the shaolin monks use rather small needles actually, and they`re definitely no where near as big as the ones in that video.

@postmaster...that just makes it all the more impressive. His ability to create that tiny hole without shattering the already extremely fragile glass is actually quite impressive!

@Lionhart2

The ability to do that requires great control and a steady hand. Its not the ACT that is religious study. The act is a RESULT of the religious study... complete synchronization of mind, body, and spirit... These monks spend decades of their lives finding that perfect alignment. They believe that if a person is aware of this balance and able to manipulate it, that person becomes a perfect representation of the image in which God meant man to resemble... He can do anything. They believe the ability to perform these acts is proof that a higher level of humanity exists...

well in Duffytoler`s defence these `needles` can be pretty big and heavy

Martial Arts : How to

and imo that glass is wafer thin. which is why there is a large wad of newspaper needed to clamp the pane without it breaking

How exactly does throwing needles at glass qualify as `religious study`? I mean what is the frakkin point, if you`re going to do that, fine, get out of the pumpkin suit and up on stage and go do it and make some money. But if you`re a monk, throwing needles at glass is the last thing you`re supposed to be doing.

Dont whine about the size of the needle and the thinkness of the glass! He had to throw that thing hard to do something like that! A needle isnt heavy!

I think this is precisely this acceleration that makes him able to trasform his strength in energy so that he has enough power to break the glass.
Make sense ?
