This is clearly a set up for something else. He isn`t just some schmuck who is actually getting a million dollars. There will be some new reality show or something coming out of this.

I think he may be a bit too smug. I shall think he would need some security too.

My going rage, sorry, rate is 999k.

... and then the IRS stepped in.

After which, all the obscure relatives, old girlfriends, neighbors, grade school acquaintances - all of which haven`t been heard from in years, if at all - suddenly come out of the woodwork with smiling faces and outstretched hands, all suddenly his best friends, wanting a piece of the pie. Then the solicitations start up from folks he doesn`t know trying to sell him on some new and interesting, yet slightly dubious, investment opportunities.

What ever is left of the million will be squandered away on cheap booze, recreational pharmaceuticals and strippers for his new found "friends."

He`ll be broke again by dawn of the next day.

*sighs*

pretty cool, nice one dude.

just goes to show how relative wealth can be.

one thing for sure... that million will last at lot shorter time than he might have imagined before he got it. one cuts ones cloth accordingly, dontcha know.

still, good on you mate.

Nobody gives a million and asks for nothing in return. Besides it`s not February 5th yet.

Second no one here is hating. They are just leery of such a bold claim.

These comments prove that people hate seeing other people succeed unless they are already successful themselves. It`s kinda sad, but it`s how things are.

I`m personally proud of him for persisting in asking for it (assuming it`s real) and not giving up when I`m sure he`s heard hundreds of times it wouldn`t work.

If he wants to be a show off, that`s his choice, but he did succeed in his goal.

So to everyone hating on him, what have you done with your life lately? Besides post a comment about someone who hit their goal?

He should know that since there is no real consideration for that money, the offer can be revoked at anytime before the acceptance... too soon to be stating in youtube he is a millionaire.

@Gerry There are two levels of exemption from the gift tax. First, transfers of a present interest up to (as of 2010) $13,000 per person per year are not subject to the tax. An individual can make gifts up to this amount to as many people as he/she wishes each year. A married couple can pool their individual gift exemptions to make gifts worth up to $26,000 per recipient per year without incurring any gift tax. A lifetime gifting limit of $1,000,000 (gifts above the annual exclusions) is allowed before a gift tax is incurred.

As Long as you stop on the 1,000,000 dollar limit you`re A ok. The gift tax is designed to stop the rich giving away inheritance to avoid inheritance tax.Source

I feel nothing watching this. Money is paper. Hapiness is friends and good health... And a Porche, convertible. Lobster of course. And a penthouse apartment with a sauna on the roof, planted in the middle of a japanese garden of bonzai trees, and models working 24 hour shifts whos sole purpose is to serve chocolate coveres strawberries with champagne... uh, look at me getting all carried away. But still, money solves som practical issues. But that`s it!
