The right-wing American Familiy Association had a field day with the "F" word a while back. They lost. HAHAHHAAHHA!!!!!

Wow... So I personally hate censorship but this was lame. I almost felt sorry for the FCC guy; he had no control over it being censored and for all he knows this was a guy with a legitimate complaint. I did like that about halfway through he started laughing.

That`s just like you can say pussy on tv as long as you`re referring to a cat and not the female anatomy. Not sure where they stand on calling someone `a pussy` though...

He`s got a point, either you stick to the rules and ban curse words or you let them all slide.

Personally I get sick of hearing classic rock songs get their lyrics edited just because they get aired over the radio. After 30-40 years of hearing them we know which ones have curse words.

As for live TV, There was no warning of Bono saying `F*ck`. He should`ve been fined, adjective or not.

Damn funny...
Imo, "bad words" are part of the language. They help express emotions and moods better and there is nothing wrong with using them as long as they are used sparingly and with a little bit of tact.

"So, what does your FCC do?"

Everything from allocate frequencies, to make sure our electronics don`t crash planes or kill people. FCC... Federal Communication Commission, the part that censors stuff is a very small division.

@ruthless1990: I think it`s here for the potential of a mild flame war on the subject of censorship. Well played, i-a-b... oh, and don`t feed the trolls.

To those who say the FCC should be disbanded, you are an idiot. FCC is trying to protect net neutrality from corporate interests to protect our freedom of information and freedom of speech.
Telling people they cant say certain words on the air is like 1% of what the FCC actually does. See that sticker ON EVERYTHING that says FCC ID? Yeah... thats a certification.
So, what does your FCC do?

hahahaha censorship is bullpoo. i love this. it really shows how ridiculous it really is. they ruled it was used as an adjective so it wasn`t offensive? lmao what a joke. if swear words are dependent on context then ANY word could potentially used as a swear word and be considered offensive.
