Those were the good old days. When men were men and warmongering was good for the soul. I still am baffled that after seeing world war 2 they would encourage a patriotism that required soldiers and war. My grandfather is almost ninety and still has nightmares from world war 2 events, yet he would never speak out against war. I`ll take the pretty boys over the suicidal old fools any day. Thumbs up for diplomacy.

Uh... yeah... men killing everyone actually is much better. A person need not waste time negotiating with a viewpoint that no longer exists. It`s simply a more efficient philosophy.

Yes, because men killing everyone back then is certainly much better than the men now who explore art and theirselves. Get over your own insecurities.

Yeah, but guys, like it or not, there is an element of truth here.

Vast numbers of the strongest, bravest men have historically gone off to war and never returned, many of whom have never had the chance to pass on their genetic code to an heir or two. Inadvertently, Napoleon famously reduced the average height of French males by several inches in this manner.

While many of us sit comfortably many hundreds of kilometres behind lines, now peaceful or otherwise, but doubtless won through blood and fire and the lives of many a valiant soldier, the reality of this simple post is that it is incredibly profound.

To whatever extent you can, bloody well keep fit and strong, look after your health and do something for your neighbour every now and then.

It`s not often enough that we stop to appreciate this peace so many of us enjoy.

Rant complete.
We have wondered into a strange day and age.
People have been saying that throughout recorded history. I`m interested in ancient Rome, so I know a bit about it. You could find quite a few Romans saying much the same thing about Greek influences and a general softening of social restrictions, particularly in the late republican and early imperial period. Cato is the most famous example, but at least he walked the walk and didn`t just talk about the good old days. I`ve no doubt the same has happened all over the place throughout time.

The other example that springs to my mind is 17th century England, with the puritans and cavaliers. A cavalier could spend half a day trying different frilly and fancy outfits before choosing one. Look at "The Laughing Cavalier" - check out that ruff! Lace was preferred, of course.

I think it`s a good thing for gendered restrictions to lessen, preferably completely disappear. They`re crap.

Btw, I come in contact with countless people in the army every day. Not all of them are hard-ass chain smokers.

Mens fashion rules (Needed):
1. You can only wear four type of pants : BLUE Jeans, Khakis, Dress, and BDU. None of them may be skinny.
2. Scarves are only for open top plane pilots.
3.Males should NOT have piercings.
4.A wifebeater is NOT a shirt. Its is to go UNDER a DRESS shirt.

@NotTHATBored

It`s the trend, they think `being gay` or just acting like a homosexual will get more women which is stupid. I mean seriously, you get really muscular guys with that really really stupid emo hairstyle and white plimsol shoes - I just don`t see how the two go together!

Urggghhh. Just the thought of what today`s man is in comparison to yestersdays annoys me. Ok, being the way I was brought, men are supposed stand and fight for those who wouldn`t when generally a lot of the others like to hide behind that stupid net of hair.

GOD I hate that style. YOU ARE A MAN. SHOW YOUR FACE AND BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE.

Well there goes that `arguement`.

There needs to be a firm balance between the masculine type and the "new age" sensitive type.

The old school masculine guys were mostly homophobic and raised to be emotionally shut, which isn`t mentally healthy. However, now we`ve got an army of douche-bags and whiny wo"men". Come on, people. Find a middle ground!
