Any of you I-A-B news aficionados know why the biggest blowhard on TV left his show Countdown? No reason has been given.

jtrebowski: But KO did not got to Cornell `arts and sciences` with a 1 in 5 acceptance rate. The affiliated state college he went to accepts everyone.

"Old Macdonald"? LOL..Couldn`t resist ripping off Ann Coulters words, could you? Anyway here`s a response to someone who e-mailed CALS to find out the truth: "Many people have contacted us about the false and negative statements about Cornell`s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences being made by Ann Coulter in the media recently.

Cornell as a whole--and all of its colleges--are considered "Ivy League." The term "Ivy League" was initially used by sportswriters, and became the official name in 1954 of the NCAA Division I athletic conference to which Cornell belongs. The "Ancient Eight" are Cornell, Princeton, Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, and Harvard. Additionally, CALS admits 1 out of every 5 applicants, as does the College of Arts & Sciences.
Thank you for your concern about the College.

Sincerely,

jtrebowski: I could get a degree saying University of Phoenix, that doesn`t mean it came from an actual Doctorate (PHD) institution. And KO did not get his degree from `Ivy League`, He got it from `Old MacDonald` Cornell state college.

@CrakrJak: Sigh. All of Cornell is land-grant. All of Cornell is considered a private institution. All undergraduate students at Cornell are eligible to compete in the Ivy League. There is no serious distinction between students of different colleges on campus, nor of alums once they graduate. There is more variance in the academic aptitudes of students within any one college than across the colleges. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers a lot of different majors that cater to more than farmers and veterinarians. He has a diploma that clearly says "Cornell".

jtrebowski: Bzzzzt... Wrong!

An affiliated state college, sometimes called a community college, does not have the same classes toward a degree as an `Ivy League` university, no matter where the campus is located.

Some local universities, that I know of, send out class offerings in the mail to everyone, but they are for their on-campus community colleges not their university degree programs.

Some credits may transfer between each program, but they are not the same classes.

It was very hypocritical of him to try and sully other people by labeling them not `Ivy League`, when they actually got `University degrees` when he only got a `State college degree`.

If you wish to read some more of his asshattery, look up the term `bathtub boy` and the story behind it.

Political pundits do nothing but spread misinformation and hate.

Down with all of them. Down with lies.

@CrakrJak: Nice spin, but it doesn`t work here. Just about every major university has different schools within the same university. While admission requirements might be different at each school, they all offer the same level of "Ivy League" education.

What a douche. What kind of self-absorbed megalomaniac thinks of himself as Howard Beale? WTF? I never used to mind him that much, apart from being an obnoxious liberal once in a while (like most newscasters, just turn on the bullsh*t filter whilst watching). Now I guess I`ll always think of him as a liberal Glenn Beck with an oversized persecution complex.

Hmmm, Keith was okay I guess,(but just okay) especially if you had no choice but to listen to O`Reilly all day and then had to seek sanity at 7:00. But honestly, I`m not too concerned

as long as we still have Rachel, I`m cool.

@CrakrJak - I have not heard that, nor do I watch the show enough to pick up on the things you referenced. You may be telling the truth, you may not. Either way, I enjoyed the show and stand by what I said. To me, he seemed honest. Does that mean he was honest 100% of the time and didn`t have flaws? Certainly not. He could kill kittens in his free time to drink their blood. We all have our faults. All I know, is that I enjoyed the show, and I personally, never saw anything that made me hate the man as so many people here do. The faults presented, other than your own on his college history, are simply empty words of opinion.

ggolbez: KO misrepresented his own damn college degree. He claimed he went to `Ivy league` Cornell university (Which accepts only 1 in 6 applicants). He actually went to an affiliated state college at Cornell (Which accepts nearly everyone). All the while he`s criticizing people on his show that didn`t get an `Ivy League` education. That makes him one of the biggest hypocrites of all.

I don`t know why so many people don`t like Olbermann. He says things that I disagree with from time to time, and his tact is that of a bull in a China shop. But he doesn`t spread lies, and he doesn`t misrepresent information. He shows things as they are, and presents his personal views on the situation. Granted, he is further left than most, but he at least was honest. I will miss him.

He got all that time and that`s all he could come up with?

Sad. Every side needs their nutjobs, so it is too bad he lost his job.

Personally I would point to the incident that happened over his campaign contributions, and hurt feelings that were left over from that hampering any working relationship as the cause to his leaving.

He didn`t like getting yanked, some heated arguments with management, and an agreement that an amicable parting was the best course of action. He should apply at Fox.

When I was in college a group of us were setting outside having lunch. As usual, Dave dominated the conversation. He was the expert on every subject. The first to express his opinion, (which was always right of course). He would drown out any other with his loud interruptive voice. This particular day a seagull flies over and poops... it drops right on his head.

Upon seeing this and without missing a beat a friend to us all says, "Couldn`t happen to a nicer guy". To which we all smiled and went on our way.
Providence? Karma? There is a God? Many cliche`s come in to mind.

Best Wishes Keith, I am sure we will hear from you again. Hopefully you can get 7 million a year on your next gig too.
