I meant -25C is -13F.

@ Cats Suck: It was most definitely -25C (13F). It was in my backyard. It hasn`t gotten down to -25F in the Twin Cities since 2008.

It wasn`t -25C for christ sake, it was -25F goddamit. Same goes for you musicmel, it sure as hell wasn`t -47C anywhere on the planet, moron.

Wow that was so lame....
-_- walk, walk, walk, walk. Pour, throw, pour, throw, pour, throw. Walk, walk, walk, walk. -_-

Dog- WTF is he doing?
Other dog- Don`t you know? It`s a water ritual!
Dog- Whats that?
Other dog- It`s where you throw hot water into the air and watch it evaporate and doing it while your face is on botox mode.

Yesterday I was complaining how cold it`s gotten here in San Diego. The high was only 71 degrees! Now today it`s expected to be 69! brrrrrrrr

I do love all the seasons. But I`m glad I live in a place that skips the crappy one.
If I went out now with warm water, say +75°c the temp difference would be almost 100 degrees...

OF COURSE the water would vaporize if I threw it up in the air. It`s obvious. If you throw cold water on a warm stove it WILL vaporize instantly, this is really just the same. Physics. And simple as such.
But you`re simply wrong, in two ways:

i) The boiling water is not vapourising in the cold. It`s freezing, which is pretty much the opposite.

ii) The temperature differential is not the only factor. For example, if a stove is hot enough to boil cold water very quickly, it will boil warm water faster. If it`s *very* hot, it will boil drops of water far more slowly because of the Leidenfrost effect.

You need to use very hot water because when thrown it will break up into smaller droplets, which freeze far more quickly than larger ones would. Cold water sprayed in drops the same size would freeze faster.

@ handys: Dude... Chill. Ask ANY IAB`er who submits content... what you mention happens to all of us at some point.

Look at it logically... IAB has a boatload of users with accounts (thousands? Fancy?). With that many regular users, many of whom submit content frequently, it goes without saying that multiple individuals are going to submit the same content that they see on other sites (izismile, oddee, 2leep, etc...).

Don`t get upset because you see something that you submitted credited to someone else. There are two likely explanations:

1. Other users are submitting the same content before you do.

2. There is an IAB-wide conspiracy to frustrate you.

I`m guessing #1.

@fancylad

Well at least I finally got an answer. That`s fine on a I-A-B reader. I really don`t have qualms. My major beef is I submit content that gets ignored then several days later the same gets put up. Making it look like you have an attitude toward me based on some posts. Hate to air it out here. I am not familiar where to grind it privately on I-A-B.

Anyhow I`m over it and you can hack me up if I pissed you off. I can take it. Your site your rules.

Anyhow

Right now (January) the temp is about -19 right outside my flat here in mid Norway.

And as a spoiler, pissing: No, that will not work, believe me if you like.

@handys003: Considering I approve about 90% of the content, I`ll say that yes, if osirisascend is willing to put himself out there and record himself doing something interesting, it`ll get on the site. Like Davy said, it`s cool that an I-A-B regular went out of his way to send something original in.

I`m all about the I-A-B community and is anyone with an account submits something of substance they did on camera, it`ll go up every time. Why not? The thing that makes I-A-B stand out against the others is that we actually have a pretty close group of readers.

Maybe too close? Balla? Kidding. Had to get that one in there. I`ve had too much coffee this morning--I`m feeling spry.
Hey mods! Big whoop de f*cking do! You mods know there are better submissions. However you guys apparently hold grudges.
Handys, wait, what? What grudges are we holding, and against whom? And what does that have to do with a post that most people seem to like (75% like score at time of posting?) I personally think it`s kinda cool when we get submissions of actual original content from real life I-A-Bers. I guess we just have different tastes, which is fair enough.

I couldn`t handle that. I was complaining nonstop this morning because it was 28 outside.

Of course, our summers usually top out around 110-115, so there`s the bad side of only getting about five days of freezing weather a year.

14F is not 8c its -10c. Nothing even freezes at 8, it has to be 0 for water to even begin freezing..

Yeah I`m in Minneapolis right now. Was -31 this morning.(Fri.) It sucks something fierce, Nothing a few beers cant take care of. We make up for it with nice 70-80 degree summers. Not that 100+ degree or 100% humidity B.S.

LOL! I was going to call shenanigans! (actually looked like liquid nitrogen being tossed into the air). BUT seeing that its about 14F (about 8C) outside I thought it might be cold enough to work. It did.
Not quite as spectacularly as the video but it did work.

Dogs too stupid to even be curious - they are actually more interested in sniffing each other`s butts than what the guy is doing.

A cat would at least be curious. Cats > Dogs

It`s not evaporating. It`s instantly freezing into snow. Which is the opposite of evaporating.
