They were just trying to hide Elton`s goofy smile.
I wonder if they hide the pics of butts that are always on the trash mags?

Nope. It was reported on Chelsey Lately {reliable news service} that the manager of Harpers was interviewed about it. His response "It was covered for personal reasons and we don`t comment on personal things".

No, actually the store did do that in all it`s outlets. It has since rescinded the policy after a somewhat nasty internet backlash.

@101flyboy - Dude, you get real. A 1/20th of an inch thick opaque cover set in front of a magazine is NOT censorship. Either you don`t know what censorship is, or you`re just a twatwaffle.

Your "do you see covers with..." argument is just idiotic. I see one magazine, so do you. I don`t know what their cover policy is, and you don`t either. You can`t tell me if they routinely cover, or what they last covered.

But see if you can put aside the idea that anyone who doesn`t actively push the LBGT movement forward isn`t a hate monger, and try and understand a position other than yours.

This is a cover that could piss off someone. Should it be? Probably not, but who wants to deal with some raving idiot who`s pissed their precious little snowflake looked at a magazine cover?

"Get real": If the decision maker want to make an anti-gay statement, there wouldn`t be a magazine to take a picture of.

(for cut off)End of Msg.

Your guarantee will probably fail then. Elton is 64 years old, for the kid to `grow up` with two parents he has to reach at least 82 before dying. But we know what you meant.

I only expect this level of ignorance from the south-and yes it is the South, America`s hillbilly a.ss, part of the former slave holding confederacy and always so [email protected] proud to be 50 yrs behind the rest of the nation.

I`m part of the midwest, and my state already has gay marriage, betardfooser.

Oh, and Austin is trolling. No-one realized that with his first post? But it`s unoriginal unfunny trolling.

Arkansas is a hilarious state. Extremely high teen pregnancy and STD rates, but 2 men with a kid is offensive. It`s actually comical, just how backwards some people and places can be. You have to laugh not to rip your hair out.

Anyway, supposedly the cover was removed, so at least something good has come out of this.

Keith=Don`t you that gay men aren`t into vaginas? Uh, yeah, don`t let the common sense door hit you too hard. WTF is wrong with them? Nothing, they are just two guys raising a kid. What`s wrong with you is the real question.

I`m not gay and I certainly see nothing disgusting about the magazine cover. You should probably see a therapist if something so insignificant causes such issues with you.

P.S. Projective disgust=insecurity.

Handeman=You should probably take some medicine for that.

Mr. Bill Clinton=No, we don`t find your abominable hatred normal. That`s sort of the reason for the outrage.

Cndian Mouse=The store put the cover up, and has subsequently removed the cover since they knew they were exposed as bigots.

Hightech90=They have the "right" to cover the photo, and in turn, people have the right to call them out on their bigotry. Freedom of speech works both ways.

Janus Games=You seem to mean well, but let`s get real. They INTENTIONALLY covered this ONE magazine cover because it was 2 men on the cover. That is effectively censorship, it`s not openly having the cover available, it`s hiding the cover like there is something "wrong" with it. Do you see covers with half naked bodies covered or covers detailing death or drug use? This isn`t about the kids, this is making an anti-gay statement, and that`s not acceptable.

Smart move.. because if young kids see two grown men smiling and happy with a kid, they might think they`re gay!

Oh wait they are. Nothing to see here kids, move along.

Just out of wondering...why is causing so much outrage?

I mean, it`s a private business, and I`m sure they already had a stock of those magazine blockers. They`re a grocery store, not porn sellers, they probably do it with any magazine which might have a cover a parent might find objectionable.

They`re not censoring anything, they`re not pulling them from the shelves, they`re just making it so that if you want to see it you have to be obvious about it and if the parents happen to disapprove of a gay lifestyle they have both the time to stop their children from possibly viewing the material.

I applaud the idea, even if I don`t see anything wrong with the subject material. If they don`t care, they can just let little johnny look.

drating relax people.

@ Madest

Oh God, Madest you couldn`t break my argument so you had to change the subject. Well if Elton John and his "partner" saw this, this is the extent of what they could do....protest their dislike of it by not shopping or going into the store. Or since he is rich and popular, he could go on some bs talk show and spew his displeasure. In the end, nothing can be done if the owner of the store doesn`t want to remove the cover. Thank you and good day

The store is "Harps Market" in Mtn Home, Ar. The managers name is Greg Harp, I used to work there and yes I can totally see him doing this.
