I probably shouldn`t admit this, but my exact thought as this loaded was "I didn`t know Afghanistan had a Disney--oh..."

    "too soon "

    What is?

I never had a swing like that in any of the playgrounds I played in as a kid. Also if you get a strong enough older brother or if you guilt your dad into it you can get him to push you and 5 of your friends at once!

I bet they have pretty good imaginations as well. Kids are amazing thinkers when they are left to their own devices.

And it`s only about fifty feet away from where they all crap on the ground in a big traditional communal outdoor crap-and-pee-on-the-ground toilet area, a very common sight in Afghanistan. Can`t be bothered to dig sewers anymore than make decent kiddie rides - all that stuff really cuts into the time they have budgeted for opium smoking.

I read Stones into Schools by Greg Mortenson (same guy from Three Cups of Tea), and he said that when they built a new playground at a school for girls, the elder men of the village came, played on it for a while, and then approved of his plan. This reminds me of that.

I`m surprised no one`s hooked that car up to the rotary swing in the foreground. Now THAT would be better than any E-ticket ride.

They told me "Don`t worry Hassan, when you blow yourself up, you`ll end up in heaven with hundreds of virgins to satisfy your every need!" They forgot to tell me that I`d be working the spin swing ride in the middle of the f*cking desert for a thousand years first.

I spent 15 months in Iraq, Anbar province, working the main gate.. You know how much oil we "stole" NONE. There goes your idea.

Here`s the real reason - The weapons of mass destruction that WE DID FIND. chemical weapons that we did find. Long range missiles that we did find. The missiles had no payload yet, but it`s simple enough to load.

According to that, Iraq broke the agreement signed after the first gulf war, authorizing the US to come in and sweep up, Kudos for being another ignorant political know it all though!

Now Afghanistan was a US goal since way back when, Rambo 3 actually put them in power from our enemies in Russia.

Now, back when Russia invaded we placed the Taliban in power, so you don`t think when it all came crashing down we should strike them down like an insolent child?

@TR-Wolf just like how people call the Roger`s Center the SkyDome still. It`s what people knew it as, and everyone understands what they mean when they say it, so why change what they call it?
