Simply put there is no market demand for trucks anywhere else in the world, so for toyota to make tundras in japan would be illogical.

I saw the problem with foreign products years ago. Others would defend their foreign car by saying that it was manufactured in the USA or mention that some parts in American cars come from foreign countries. At the end of the day, it`s about national deficit and buying foreign cars kills an economy. This guy finally figured it out (20 years too late) but can`t afford a new car so he`s doing the best he can.

Tundras may be made in America but the profit goes to China. Yes, the payroll stays here, but having the actually company here is much better for the economy.

With the Euro crumbling and the dollar inflating I would hope people would wise up by now. IT`S NOT ABOUT WHERE THE TRUCK IS MADE. You bunch of dim bulbs talking about Texas need to learn about GDP real fast. Probably too late already.

zepth, green_btrfly, Ryan22158 and a rare few other get it. The rest of you need to wake up. Your countries are failing fast.

Despite them being Japanese the car was probably made in USA. Thousands of workers involving Toyota and all their suppliers all probabaly have the same ignorant attitude and buy only "American" goods.

Seems to me like he is against China more than the Japanese owned Toyota (which employs many Americans on American soil, mind you). Bring back manufacturing to the States (on the scale it once was) and the middle class will expand. Keep it in China and the middle will slowly evaporate.

gorshramn it people! if there is one thing you should always but american, its a F*CKIN PICKUP TRUCK. They are as american as appledratinpie people, and we do it better than anyone else. sure, tundra is a decent truck. if you want to drive a big car around. but if you want a real truck for real shtuff get an american. friend of mine had a brand new toyota t-1000 tundra. he towed a trailer 2,000 pounds over its tow max, and the frame stretched 2 inches. He bought a used chevy and hasn`t had any problems.

Sorry, we live in a global community. Shipping costs are cheap enough now that products can be shipped effectively around the world. If one wants to remain competitive, one must work at competitive wages. If one refuses, then one goes on welfare.

It`s competition. When Americans build cars as well as the Japanese (or those under Japanese management), I`ll buy one. Foreign competition will help to boost the quality of American-made cars. I think American companies are starting to catch up.

"Shipping costs are cheap enough now that products can be shipped effectively around the world. If one wants to remain competitive, one must work at competitive wages. "

Nothing`s more competitive than sweat shop wages, although I guess we COULD go back to what built this country: good old fashioned slavery.
Honestly, if we really want to have fair competition we really should bring back tarrifs on imports. Heck, imagine how much money we`d make just in taxes!

Economy is necessarily about competition. If the products of U.S. companies can`t compete with those of foreign companies, then they shouldn`t be purchased. Patriotism of this sort can only lead to stagnation in science and engineering.

But, then again, as has been brought up here already, a company`s country is superficial. I drive a Pontiac GTO. It was built in Australia...

Also, the bottom sign looks `shopped.

Theres toyota factories in america. Same with hyundai and other foreign companies. Its cheaper to build them and sell them in America than it is for countries to export them here. Go figure someone didnt know what the hell they were talking about it again.

I drive a Pontiac G8 that was made and imported from Australia(which is why it was probably the best overall car Pontiac ever put out). My brother has a 02 Camaro made in Canada and friend has the new `10 made in Canada. A cousin a Porsche that was made in america.

A lot of people would be VERY surprised to find out where there car was actually made and where the materials came from.
