Yeah, then what happens if you try to get it down and it doesn`t work? You`re trying to climb the post like a dumbass to get your bike back down.

Well what happens if someone puts their bike under yours and disappears the rest of the day? It`s like the double park.

so do you ride around looking for a lamp post to fit your lock?

Male 1,357
So someone else puts their bike under yours on the lamppost and then you can`t get yours back until they return. shamee!

lol...reminds of the episode of Reno 911 when Dangle locks his bike on a light pole....goes into a building...comes out and the light pole is going through the inside of the bike frame...XD

wicked concept for something that doesn`t need to be...nice

Cool concept, although you need a trailer attached to your bike just to carry the lock.

I think I would be more likely to steal the bike raised 10 ft in the air. It`s just sitting there asking for it :P

Yeah, it`d be sort of easy to steal. It`d also be much easier to steal a bike sitting on the ground. Bolt cutters are much easier to haul around than a ladder, and much less work than finding out whatever frequency they`re on.

Well it`s a good idea. However I know the utility companies where I live don`t allow such on the utility poles.

The bike is just sitting in a half pipe holder. Anyone with a stick can knock the bike off of its perch.

Someone got their bike stolen one too many times it seems.

Whats stopping someone just using the same frequency, walking over and getting a free bike....

I had all these things I wanted to say about this, I go to the comments and the first thing I see is Concetra`s post. All I could do was laugh. Well done, Concetra.

It`s a good concept, I like it! All it needs is some sort of failsafe if the batteries go dead while it`s up there, and an actual lock to fasten the bike to it (so it can work without electricity and withstand poking and/or wind while up there).

I wants!

But Gerry has a point.

Great until someone shins up the pole and grabs the bike.

...It doesn`t even lock the bike to itself. It just has a holder.

put some christmas lights round that bike and voilà you got your self a decoration on a pole. infact this is a great invention for putting up decorations without actually going up a ladder. good job

"Rauf. Runter. Disco." Lol, funny accent. 99.9% sure that he is from hamburg. :-)
They made this video for a german electronics company. There is another one(dog playing with ball-machine) which is also nice.

Cool idea, but you can`t carry it around with you too easily. I`ve already got enough crap in my panniers when I ride to school. I guess you could just use it at home, but why not just bring your bike inside? Even when I was living in a tiny apartment I kept my bike in it.

Also, mrpuddle, I don`t think bike-thieves are generally too concerned with public opinion, nor are they in cahoots with witches.
