She didn`t fall because she was fat, She fell because her foot slipped out from under her causing the hyper extension of her knee. That`s a rather painful injury by the way, I`ve seen this happen to athletes in top physical condition.

People usually talk about bigger people, calling names like "couch potatoes" or basically making it seem like fat= lazy or non active and over eating. Well here you have a thicker girl doing things that require movement and you laugh when she falls? thick people can`t win it seems, darned if you do, darn if you don`t.

Society is a drated up monster. Always telling people who are overweight to get up and do something to lose weight but when we do, we get laughed at.
What if this chick was taking dancing as her way to lose weight?
I took up swimming to lose weight. I drating quit because people kept making fun of me. I was the second best swimmer in the team too.
Now I want to take up dancing to lose the weight, but if the world is going to be an ass about it there`s nothing I can drating do right?
Fat girls go to the gym and get laughed at for being fat. Regardless of the fact they are there to lose weight.
    This is very upsetting.

    >>thick people can`t win it seems, darned if you do, darn if you don`t.

If you were genuinely active, not overeating, not-couch-potato, you would win by losing weight. Instead, there are just more lies and self-deception.

As soon as we start to do something about our weight we get slammed. You laugh if we get a salad. You laugh if we are at the gym. You laugh
if we take up physical activities. "Whats with the fat chick dancing?" "Look at fatty swimming like a whale!" "Look her rolls shaking when she runs after that ball!"

duffytoler`s right, however unfortunate it may be, you have to be thin, not too tall or short, to do what ballerinas do. it`s incredibly difficult.
and personally, i think if you`re not in good enough shape to preform at a show, don`t.
and it`s not like she was doing something hard or complicated. And yes, I CAN comment on it`s difficulty, I used to be a dancer myself.

I have a suggestion, it works every time to solve 99% of the problems for people who are fat and disgusting, but think they can do things that people who are not fat and disgusting can do.

    1. Eat better
    2. Excersise very often
    3. Research and act on what you find

    It`s an awesome new idea!

"Fat girls go to the gym and get laughed at for being fat. Regardless of the fact they are there to lose weight.
    This is very upsetting."

First off... quit your self centered whining. Second off you are wrong on a couple of levels.

    1. If you are "dancing to lose weight" perhaps you should not be doing it in a public venue until your mind and body are ready to handle it. This girl was not. (setting youself up for failure)
    2. I am in the gym every single day and I can count on one hand when I have heard anyone say anything durogatory for someone taking appropriate steps. The few I have heard... I have set them straight.

Quit making excuses, get online, do your research and act on what you find. Research more, and act more. That`s what it takes. If you want suggestions from a pro, let me know.

Yeah, it hurts pretty bad when you fall while dancing, but not so bad that she couldn`t limp offstage. Juuuuuust saying. If she`s dancing well enough to be on stage, she`s been dancing long enough that she`s fallen like that before. Of course, either she just started dancing of she`s just a p*ssy.

Maybe she isn`t crying from the fall, but the embarrassment. I mean, that took a lot of guts going on stage, especially after falling and probably being aware that people are laughing at her now. I mean, most people laugh at falls and pain-the three stooges were pretty popular after all. And then given her weight, she may be already self conscious and stuff. I agree with 5405841, give her credit for getting up on stage. And also, just because she is on stage doesn`t mean she has been dancing for a long time. My college has student run dance performances where we get the full stage and people who have never danced before are able to give it a try (after practicing with the company of course) and perform. So she could have been doing something like that.

This has nothing to do with her being fat, she`s just a total wimp. I knew a girl at my dance school who was just as big as this girl but she was super light on her feet and was actually a really great dancer (though it is very rare at dance competitions to see a girl that big so it kind of weirds people out at first). This girl seriously...that fall did not look that bad. Being a former dancer I`ve danced through much worse, and so has everyone else I`ve danced with. I`ve fallen on my ass in front of everyone before but meh you just have to get back up and suffer through the rest of the dance...Unless you`re physically broken.

    To Inaria:
"This girl seriously...that fall did not look that bad."

It wasn`t the fall that hurt her, but the way her knee popped out of place whenever she landed. Take a look at the video again.

I`ve dislocated both of my knees. One while fast roping from a helicopter in the military, and once while playing softball. Both times it hurt like hell. I wouldn`t be so quick to call her a wimp.

So watch the film again and pay attention to her knee just befor she lands on her butt. Then notice that it`s not her bum that she`s holding, but the back side of her knee.

If she wasn`t larger than the average dancer and blew out her knee landing awkwardly, then started crying on stage, would it still be funny? Of course it would. Get past the fact that she`s fat, and just appreciate the opportunity that the Internet bestows upon us to be able to laugh at someone else`s pain and embarrassment.

You sure about that? I have zero statistics or physical proof to give you here... instead I have something much better. It`s called, "Logic".

Just because it "could" happen to anyone (true), it absolutely DID happen to her. The chances of her misstepping, or landing wrong increase greatly by the fact she is overweight in the first place.

So, it is true it could happen to anyone, but it is also true it was more likely to happen to her.

Some of you guys are non-nice individuals, man. At least she was doing something active. Instead of sitting at home on the computer staring at a screen, much like myself, she was out dancing. Yeah! drat the fat girl for trying to lose weight doing something she loves! She needs to get skinny in the darkness of her basement and THEN she`s allowed to show off what she`s learned to an audience. In reality, she`d probably practiced quite a lot on her routine and by chance, she landed wrong and seriously drated up her knee. She isn`t a weakling, as previously stated, she clearly popped out her knee or the like. That would hurt like a bitch. I don`t blame her for crying and cradling the injury. People really need to learn some respect. There is a big difference in making fun of a fat person driving a buggie through Walmart and making from of someone larger that is trying to be active. Seriously. drat you non-nice individuals that had to be mean.

Lol, again with the excuses. You let your emotions cloud sound reasoning. Again, she is out of shape and fat. She should not be dancing in front of people unless she is ok with the risk of embarrassment. Who says she was "trying to lose weight?" If she were actually doing that, dancing in public is not the way to go about it. And who says you have to lose weight in the "darkness of your own basement."?? YOU DO... that`s who. Nobody else... why? Because you have low self confidence and you make excuses for others and yourself.

You want to make a change, only you can.

Again, I am always willing to help someone get in shape. I do it all the time and it works. If you have questions then ask them of me. But, if you are just going to whine and make excuses, don`t bother.

BTW: Hypo/Hyperthyroidism = not a good excuse. (I have trained people with it and had success.)

Only few people have such serious medical issues that it is impossible to keep the pounds off, and those people are given a pass by my attitude.

"She should not be dancing in front of people unless she is ok with the risk of embarrassment."

There would be a risk of embarrassment for everyone. That`s not the problem here. It`d be just as embarrassing for a skinny woman as well. That`s a given. However, that doesn`t mean that the audience has to go, "Well, she`s fat, therefore it`s funnier." And come up with all these jokes about rolls and whales and poo. Embarrassment does not equate to cruelty.

"Who says she was "trying to lose weight?" If she were actually doing that, dancing in public is not the way to go about it."

Why not? Why can a fat person go to a public gym? Why can`t a fat person take a karate class? Why can`t a fat person go to the local pool? Why can`t they join a team? People lose weight like that all the time. However, it`s not right for people to make fun of them for trying to make a change. Just because `you` don`t want to see them in a public form doesn`t mean that can`t or shouldn`t.

It`s not funny becuase she`s fat or because she`s not a great dancer - it`s funny because she hurt herself.

Um, you just did. You said they shouldn`t do it publicly. Basically they have to hide out until they`re thin enough to emerge. Hello?

And as for your random assumptions and accusations, despite the fact that I`m a little chubby, I go to a public gym at my college all the time, so nice try.

And as far as excuses go, what the drat are you talking about anyways? I`m saying she should have the right to go out and work out how she wants to. Be it dancing or any other form of exercise. YOU`RE the one saying she shouldn`t. You`re the one making excuses.

    @feefee:

Such a sad sack you are. I am saying that she should not be dancing in a public venue if she is not in shape. I know you know this, you just want to be a little argument maker. I never said she shouldn`t lose weight in public. Never, not once. In fact I encouraged it a couple times and defended. Another thing I know you know.

Another thing.. I see people in the gym often wasting their time. Just because you go to a gym, doesn`t mean poo. I have said it and will say it again, do your research and act on it. If you are still fat after six months, you are doing it all wrong.

    Six months Feefee...

Meh. She`s big yes, but I would say that more than likely she fell because ballet shoes (and stages) are slippery. This just as easily could have happened to normal sized or skinny person. People fall, bones break, tendons rip.

@splurbyburbl why shouldn`t she dance in public? She probably practiced very hard for this and got some excersize while doing it too! She`s obviously has to have some energy and endurance to do dance. Not to mention confidence! Isn`t there any value in that or is her value based soley on her weight? She`s not entertaining because she`s fat? I find that hard to believe..

You`re contradicting yourself completely, you know that right? Yes, you said she shouldn`t. Dancing counts. And no, I didn`t see you defend it. You weren`t interesting enough for me to research all your posts. You might wanna stop with the assumptions.
