A fusion of social media and afterlife remembrance. Is this the future or personal memorial?

i wonder if the family holds a funeral service when the batteries on the E-TOMB die... will the etomb then get it`s own etomb and it`s own tweets about tweeting the dead guys tweets ?

So, read all of your facebook comments over the years and decide if this is the sum total of what you want to be remembered by. Either a dull stream of consciousness, some wacky youtube vids or what you finally achieved in `Farmville`. Nope better chuck my harddrive in the crematorium with me too.

I could see maybe holographic tombstones, but looking at some dead person`s Facebook posts is a bad idea.

God-f*cking-dammit!!

I wish I`d invented that. That is totally the way things are going to go.

I want my grave to be old, withered, and covered with moss. I`m not even a fan of the polished marble tombstones.

Good heavens- why on earth are you made to embalm someone, doea the formalin industry have a lot of money? I would hate to be embalmed , it is downright creepy, even the idea of a solid coffin puts me off. Let me PLEASE go into the soil and feed worms!!!

"This is a great idea! Beats the heck out of the piddly info that`s left, carved into the marble. At least this way, you can really bring up a lot of info."

Ooor you can email it to people so that they can access it at pretty much any time, rather than only while near a graveyard.

@madduck - I`m with you, but sadly for me, in most states in the US they are obligated by law to embalm you, even if you`re going to be cremated. Guess I need to try to die somewhere else

Oh no- bury me, naked and unembalmed, in a cardboard box, stick an apple tree on top of me and leave me to rot away as nature intended. I will provide food for the tree, thus shelter for birds and animals, food for them too. That is eternal life- and I won`t know a thing about it.

Erm... I don`t know how I feel about this.

Personally, I want my body compressed into a diamond, mounted on a ring, and then sold to a pawn shop. To each their own.

It`s kind of a good idea. I think there is something in this. It would be sweet in a way if a lot of different people could then leave messages on this thing, and you could read them when visiting the grave.

This is kinda of pointless in my opinion - one way or another you will be forgotten. People should really only care about the now rather than worrying about the future or past. We aren`t living in either stages you know :)

I like it... I mean isn`t that the point of a tomb? Its there so people will remember you. This just gives more insight into who you were
