It`s about TIME! All these stupid athletes thanking the gods for their touchdowns or victories...it`s about time somebody put the blame on them/him/her/it.

God is obviously a Cleveland Browns fan because if they ever make it to the Super Bowl it`ll be a miracle.

I heard an interesting twist to this, adding to inversegrav`s post.

You always hear people thank god after winning something. If they are 100% religious, they are assuming one of 2 things. Either no one else prayed to win(rare), or god chose to disregard their opposition.

So next time you hear someone say "I want to thank god for this..." They are really saying - "haha, god likes me more than you"

I`ve never blamed God for my failures. I have blamed Him for not paying attention. And He says no to prayers too damned often. So perhaps that dropped ball was his fault. OR it was that God is a Steelers fan and he was answering the prayers of the safety who was praying at that moment "Let him drop the ball, Let him drop the ball, Let himn drop the ball...... YES!!!!"

Couple things: Obviously 24/7 is not the case as he took time to tweet that dissent. Secondly, idiot still got paid an insane amount of $$$ for dropping 5 passes that day. Thankless jerk.

Hahaha. I think that`s awesome. Hard to know his intent but unless he`s being 100% for real that tweet is a hilarious commentary on blah blah blah.

But I still give him props for getting on the podium and know he should have caught that and the other 4 he dropped.

I`m going to blame this one on his stone hands, attitude, and lack of concentration. He is a professional athlete, yet he can`t make a catch high schoolers make.

Everyone thinks that God is a fan of their team. I really do not think God cares a lick about sports.

@Rainbowfarts

So why would god give one person more than anyone else? I think he does everyday when the innocent and the young lose their lives for no reason and some criminals live to old age.

I do believe in God but this is stupid. I also am not a big fan when people claim it was God that made them succeed. Why should God give you anything more than anyone else? It`s all based on how you help yourself, maybe that football player just sucked, practice more and when you do succeed just accept it was because you tried hard.

Blaming god for failing is the same thing as giving him credit for when you succeed.

"God is obviously a Steelers fan."

I can second that.

I`m not a Christian, but I can understand why people might think that God would intervene in a sporting event. People put a lot of themselves in their fan-hood. They really hang a lot of happiness on the outcome of these games. Sure, in the end it`s just a game, but in truth, it`s also happiness when your team does well, and sadness when they don`t. Surely God would care about His people being happy, right?

damokiwi, you and I are kindred spirits. If someone asks you about your religion, just tell them what I tell them: "I`m an antagonostic. I don`t believe in God, but if there is one, I don`t like Him."

for the same reason he planted fake fossils in the earth: because as payment for our existence we must supply him with epic lolz.

as if being hated by all his fans for dropping the ball wasn`t enough, he had to go piss off the entire christian community. what an asshat!

God sees every single tweet @shiftyplus1, and he also sees what you do when you`re alone...

But yeah, like @MechaWolf said; if God helps the other team win, then He made your team lose! lolz!

I totally agree with MechaWolf! I always see sports stars thanking God for their success. But when they don`t succeed no mention of God is ever made. Weird!

This is reasonable- everyone knows that the only human events in which the creator of the Universe actually intervenes in are sporting events.

He claims to "praise him" 24/7 but it didn`t look like he was praising him when he was on the field, so clearly God was teaching his lazy ass a lesson.
