I watch a lot of Fox News - much more than you, I`m sure - and I never heard anyone on that network say anything like that. Did you really hear that on Fox, or did you just pull it out of your ass? Unless you can provide a link, I`ll assume the latter.

“If all mankind were to disappear, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed ten thousand years ago. If insects were to vanish, the environment would collapse into chaos.”

insects > humans
This proves that.

Dude, this kind of thing doesn`t happen `a lot` between these two countries... the attack on Yeonpyeong Island was the first direct artillery attack on South Korea since the Korean War ended in 1953.

N.K shelled the S.K island after they went ahead with their military show which included S.K firing artillery themselves(into open water). N.K responded to S.K following through with their festival after N.K told them not to. 2 marines dead 18 wounded several civilians wounded. S.K president has given consent to prepare aggresive counter measures. United States has moved in the carrier George Washington from tokyo to S.K waters. I have S.K friends so gettign better info then bullpoo fox poo

My "disdain", if I have "one" is with the world NOT USA. I wish no ChiComs on anybody, I wish the world to destroy itself and get it over once and for all. I guess "they" will land in BC because that is where the Chinese immigrants land? That`s pure low brow slant. Racist me thinks.

TAX PAYERS CAN`T PAY FOR A HOME on easy street, so how the heck can they finance a military invasion in another country. USA is totaly tapped and drawn out on a shoe string budget. China drating around with North Korea and taking a little poke at south Korea? Put your mind into it kids, this is a head game. If I was China, I`d get it over with and roll the bombs and tanks into America. Let us ALL just get the last world war out of the way already. And what better time to spark it up, when UNCLE SAM HAS BEEN LAID OFF FROM HIS 9-5 JOB.

It`s not at all hypocritical. In the first place, I`m not saying that I`m better than they are because they`re angry and I`m not. I`m saying that they have no rational justification for their hate, which makes them fapping idiots. On the other hand, I`m perfectly justified in being angry at them for being stupid haters.

The world has changed a lot in 60 years. I agree that China and N. Korea have a special bond, but China distanced themselves pretty far from N. Korea after the Cheonan. They know that Kim Jong-Il is close to death, probably better than we do.

Of all the players involved, the only one who really wants a war in this situation is the new government of S. Korea.

US- Still bogged down in Afghanistan, just leaving Iraq. Neither public will nor our economy can support another war without serious just cause. Even though we have (insufficient) troops in the area, the cost of matérial will be extremely high.

N. Korea- Poor, can`t even feed their own people much less withstand the onslaught of the west.

China- Can`t afford to lose the economies of the west in export business, which would have to happen in direct conflict. Not worth fighting a losing war.

S. Korea - US equipped and trained, chomping at the bit for some blood

Lets just let `em fight it out themselves. If China is N Koreas ally, and the U.S. is the Souths, and both kept out of it, and i make a run on sentence, I think it`d be fair. Also, another foreign war would really suck. I don`t see this turning into all out war though. Too many wishy washy politicians fighting with their counterparts probably ensure no real retaliation will come.

T-Marley I repeat China will continually back N Korea until both countries have new leaders. Once they change their leaders they will not have the loyalty bonds that aided them into office and then some change can happen. But atm if N Korea got into a war with US China will back them

Sorry to burst the war bubbles guys, but I will eat my boots if this turns into a war.

No one did anything after the Cheonan sank, and that was over 45 KIA`s and millions of dollars in lost equipment.

This was a couple of marines, 15 wounded soldiers and 3 civilians.

N. Korea knows it can get away with an incident like this once every few months, and they use them to further propagandize their people.

With our air and land forces along with S. Korean forces, and the fact that China very probably will not back N. Korea up this time, even N. Korea knows they would lose any real combat actions. They do not have the logistics for a prolonged war in their isolation.

Just another example of the sheer and utter uselessness of the UN. Let`s watch out for another one of their vague letters of condemnation. You know how much paper cuts suck.

Close, but there is much more to say. N. Korean Killing Fields are vast and Hellish to say the very least. N. Korea is responsible for some of the most horrendous human rights violations that would rival the Holocaust, the Rape of Nanking and the Russian Holocaust.

ooo... we could get all technical here

actually N. Korea did not BOMB S. Korea. they SHELLED them.

Artillery was shelling S. Korea. Bombing implies a planed attack run by air craft. Artillery shelling was in retalliation for what N. Korea thought to be shots fired at them from S. Korea when they were on a training exercise to close to N. Korea`s border

MarcusAurel, can you point to something in the video that was biased? I listened to the whole thing and heard nothing biased. They described what happened, what they weren`t sure about, put it into the context of other similar recent incidents, and that was about it. They even said that the sinking of the Cheonam (the submarine) was "allegedly" done by the north, and that it "wasn`t confirmed". That seems pretty even handed.

Almightybob, I think you`ve forgotten the whole Axis of Evil thing, and how Bush was highly derided for it. Besides, the US has been pushing for political change in NK for a long time with non-military means. Nobody (US, South Korea, or other) can start blowing up anything in North Korea because of the thousands of heavily fortified artillery that are all pointing at Seoul, with 10 million in the city and over 20 million in the metro area. Any military action could end up with hundreds of thousands of dead South Koreans within minutes.

But you`re kidding yourself if you think China won`t go to war because of the economy... They should just let USAF go to town becasue they are just devestating against a conventional military as they proved in the Gulf War. Ground their air force, sink their navy, and blow up all their tanks and enrichment facilities. Back in the Gulf War Iraq was pretty much completely shut down in a couple of days with the F-117 Nighthawks doing most of the heavy work. Now we`ve got F-22 Raptors, the F-35 JSF, and B-2s to add to that, plus cruise missles. We can wipe North Korea`s military capabilites off the map if we can get the go ahead. And as for China, it`s a different situation now than in the 50`s. Back then they were isolated. Today their economy is integrated so much with South Korea`s and ours they probably won`t risk an intervention besides a nuclear armed Pyongyang is just as dangerous to them as it is to us. And if we do what we did with Iraq in the 90`s after trashing them (no invasion, enforcement of no-fly zone etc) they won`t get as nervous about our intentions.

Look, I have been saying this for a while. If this were to happen, it will go big or not at all. I have been repeating two end-game scenarios for a while.
1: N. Korea transgression against U.S.A. w/ China as N. Korea Ally = WW3
2: Iran attacks Israel w/ U.S.A. as Israel`s ally = WW3
3: Worst case: China/ N. Korea war w/ U.S.A. and allies. The Muslim world will jump in, garunteed. =WW3

The world is hanging by a thread and people don`t seem to realize it. Hate to break it to Canada, but absolutely nobody will be safe. Every able bodied man, woman and child will have to fight eventually.

Not to be all paranoid crazy about it, but to me... it is something that could most definitely happen. And in my lifetime.
