Now why would I want to stay in a hotel in China? Nobel prize winners are in jail, their wives are confined to their apartments. People that advocate for human basic freedoms are under house arrest and their neighbors can`t even say "hi". f-communist-china!!! Whake-up-yellow-people!

@LtFurpie Hmm sayng f**k communist china just show how people can`t see over his nose. China will lead the world for next centuries without any doubt, she have an expansion unbelivable, many things must be fixed for sure but this gonna happen really fast don`t worry. Nowaday China is the "real" capitalistic state in the world cause as you know capiatlism is done with money and today the nation that have tons and tons of money is China not for sure occidentals nations. Btw this is still a baby giant but is growing faster than words can explain. Like it or not that nation will lead the world to a new era.

Why would a hotel need to be built in 6 days? I can`t imagine the amount of planning it took to get all of the people, machines and materials coordinated...
The 40 floor building next to my office building took 8 months to build.

Notice how they say nothing about the interior. It probably looks like crap inside. They still need to paint, put down flooring, furniture, etc. The fact that they constructed it in 6 days isn`t that shocking. Now if they had constructed it and decorated it and got it open in 6 days, I`d be impressed.

Get real guys, a country where the opening of a public toilet is considered a major event and farmers still use medieval equipment is not going to overtake America. Ignore the scare-stories, China`s got a long way to go yet.

You would have to pay me big bucks to stay overnight. Especially in that EQ laden land. It must be sweet for developers to bypass codes. Then they wonder why lots of Chinese get crushed under buildings when the sh*t hits.

For those worried about safety, there is no reason to. Pre-fabrication of large structures is quite common today, and the practice of hotel building with it was popularized here in the US - remember the future themed hotels at Disneyland/Disney Resort were built this way with the rooms just slid in as completely finished cubes.

Further, it is popular with modern shipbuilding - the QE II and many other recent cruise ships were built utilizing this format with all guest cabins and main spaces. It also allows for lower TCO if damage occurs and areas need to be replaced.

put up in 6 days but definitely not ready to open for business... electrical, plumbing, DDC controls, sheetrock, plastering, sanding, painting... they did the easy part. I am an electrician and work on projects like this. The work that takes place inside a building like this takes far longer than getting the building up. And most of the work that has to be done has to be done in order which makes the process take even longer. Pretty impressive that they got it up that quick though...
