Got a newsflash for this bubba. The world has been headed for this problem for a very long time. Even befeor the writer was born. It starts the very first time you get into debt. You never write a check for money you don`t have in the bank. Your broke already. No government is going to recover until their debt is paid off.

He`s exactly right. There`s always bashing and name calling but with the rise of the tea party (via the koch brothers) our process of candidacy has given to sheer insanity. Blatant racists, former lobbyists, white supremacists, anti semitics, all frothing at the mouth.

That`s all a matter of perspective on which side of the fence your on. Do you not think that the conservative right looks upon the ultra left the same way as you do now as stated such?

You bring up a good point handy, however, when the stated agenda from mitch mcconnell and john boehner has been only to reverse what the president has done, and saying nothing of how the are going to create jobs. Save for reprising the bush tax cuts for the wealthy that would only serve a 4 trillion dollar loss. And with the raving about the deficit spending, does adding that much to our economy really create jobs? They certainly didn`t under bush..

i love how he argued there were no liberal equivelents to the Conservative Lords of Bullcrap (beck, limbaugh, etc ...) while doing exactly what they do. While I am fairly liberal, I just can`t support this level of trolling, even if I agree with some of what this guy has to say. a grain of truth doesn`t do much good if it`s covered in flame. Auburn: There is a real lobbying problem, on both sides. It`s the revolving door of politics. "Sunshine is the best disinfectant". Transparency and a better source of journalism is needed to expose and rid ourselves of the dregs that keep congress from ratifying bills that would benefit you and I.
As for socialist, anti americans? Just what does an american look like? Is it the "conservatives" who provide tax loop holes for corporations to send your job to india or china so the CEO`s can make a few more million a year, and in return they finance their re-election? Is it you? Is it me? Stop drinking the Glenn Beck Kool Aid. Glenn beck is a man who embraces conservatism and the tea party to further his personal wealth and career.

    @ ElMustache

OH don`t get me wrong I`m not in agreement with those clowns either. Usually you will find historical trend that when the general public is dissatisfied with the status of their pocket book change will incur. Good or bad. My big problem is this has been going on for decades with both parties and political views. Both have only been self serving toward duping the public that their cause is righteous. When in reality they only have been serving themselves. Not all are like that and have good intentions. However the majority have only demonstrated a course of action that only subverts the nation itself in perpetuated spending of currency not there and keeping what they have for themselves. We as the public are just as guilty with apathy in allowing only a two party environment to dominate the political spectrum, Sure there are others, but basically your stuck with a few poor choices. I think you understand that. New ideas are needed. The reality we have few choices.

continues...it`s like a vicious cycle of addiction, We are stuck with the old Roman Senate and they are bankrupting us all. The debt needs to be paid off somehow and someway, and it will hurt all of us for a time. However the benefit is the currency will bounce back and be stronger and have more buying power.

I have to agree with you Taco. Watching the MSNBC crowd go all, "How dare he say we`re part of the problem!" after Jon Stewart`s rally really did them in for me. Maybe our opinion guys don`t outright lie and distort as much as the other guys, but they do still use the same playbook.

US currency is dead, and China holds ALL the cards. Us is purposely destroying the dollar because china refuses to over inflate theirs, wich would help the US stock markets and export potential for the US. but seriously you CAN NOT compete with the labour in Brazil, Indonesia and China. You cant even try. "we loan you paper, we loan you ink, you make inked paper and trade for our resources and technology?" Seriously the US currency is DEAD, its just gonna straggle along until the middle class become lower class and then the fed introduces the "amero" or some poo so they can try to financially enslave more than just their own financially flawed country.

I went to McDonalds with a girl friend. I mean she wasn`t my girlfriend, just a friend that was a girl. I ordered The two cheeseburger meal. It used to be a #2 on the menu but they have changed since then. Now it isn`t on the menu at all but you can still order it, you just have to ask for the two cheeseburger meal instead of the #2. She got the big mac. I don`t understand the point of having the extra bun in the middle but I suppose some people like it. She asked for fries with no salt. While we were at the condiment bar, she got those little packets of salt. She started putting the packets of salt on her fries and I said, "You are putting salt on your fries." She said,"I know". I said,"But you specifically asked for them without salt." She said,"I know. If I order them with no salt they have to make fresh fries for me."

This comment, much like the article was too long to bother reading.

Yeah, I`ve known nobody in congress cares about me for awhile. It occured to me at a young age when I found out that politicians get to vote on their own salaries. Seriously, what kind of country is this where we have given all the power to a small group of people? Why don`t we get to vote on their salaries based on the job they are doing? Why didn`t I get to vote for the new healthcare bill?

Wow, what an ill-informed, biased, moron. Anybody who states that ALL politicians who belong to one party are corrupt and ALL politicians who belong to their party are great immediately reveals themselves as a useless, pathetic tool.I don`t support the tea party although their initial message is to stop government expansion and spending. And I don`t think even most republicans think this is some great republican victory, even Fox News is going around saying this is just a rejection of the current congress.
And yeah, when someone has been in congress and helped write pooty policies for 20+ years it`s time for them to go even if it`s for some idiot newby who will be out in 2 years and has nothing intelligent to say or do
I think the tea party is sort of silly at this point, but this article is poorly written and sour grapes. Honestly it`s clearly just written by your stereotypical metropolitan know-nothing, ego-centric, progressive brainwashed fag

Oh, I see the point, and I know the article is retarded. It`s a whole bunch of nothing, I can tell that quite clearly.

I`m just calling out hypocrisy in the form of the cons that are on here flinging insults at him when they`ve clearly stated in the past that only libs like to throw out insults...

Not to mention, in case you don`t know what ad hominem means, it`s criticizing the person in order to discredit their point.

Whether he has a point or not isn`t the issue, it`s a logical fallacy.

Not only that, but whether a person`s gay or not shouldn`t matter in the least. If it does to you, then that`s called homophobia, and bigotry. Just so you know.

While the rest of the world laughs at us, why don`t we just take a minute and say, "Hey... We have our views, and the other side has theirs - why don`t we have an intelligent debate and STOP ACTING LIKE SPOILED ASS HIGHSCHOOLERS THAT GET TO BE ON MY SWEET 16."

Some people are so ill-informed and ignorant. It honestly depresses me that people can`t even fathom what goals and ideas America was founded upon. One of the comments actually offended me. Supposedly what Right-wing America calls "socialism" the rest of the world calls common sense. ....Really? Are we becoming that dumb in this day and age? -_-

It`s really sad that, because the first article by Mark Morford on IAB is this one, nobody will go and find out how awesome of a writer he is. I`ve been getting his articles in my inbox for years now, and I love 90% of it. Especially the ones about wine and sex toys :)

The press used to say that about LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, and The Bushes also. The press also implies and exaggerates that the Russians, Chinese, India, Pakistan leadership as well. Did we ever have WWIII yet? Give people some credit on not blowing up the world yet. Your hyperbole is out of line.

I was glad to read that Davy, I`ve tried to submit some counterpoints (a lot milder than this) to other political postings here and they never get approved.

But even as partisan as I am, I wouldn`t submit something like this (From the opposing view). This article was so stupid I didn`t even attempt a rebuttal.

    Dayyyyyuuuuummmm!!! is right.

He may have been a little zealous and ranty, but it`s true. I can`t really make up or down about the Tea Party agenda. They say a great deal without saying anything at all. I can`t help but find them ridiculous.

And being a middle-class college student, I know it just doesn`t behoove me to vote republican or Tea Party. The trickle down theory is bull because we live in a greedy, power-hungry nation where everyone sings about brotherhood and togetherness while hoarding away as much as they can. Until we understand that the only way to succeed is a unified spirit, we will always be in the predicament we`re in now. But people are impatient and short-sited. It`s in our nature as humans, so we can`t see all that`s been accomplished.

Flip-floppers will continue to flip-flop. Right-wingers will be right wing and left-wingers will stay to the left. We`ll stay divided and keep falling. It`s just the way the great nation works. Yay Amer

Your simple statement only reveals how much of an intolerant, ignorant sheep you are and everyone would be better off if you refrained from posting. You have nothing legitimate to add to the conversation so you resort to unfounded ad hominem attacks. At least, you think you are... but there is nothing wrong with being gay, so your attempt to insult him fell embarrassingly short. I am sorry that you are so pitiful.

Wow, whoever wrote this article is severely butthurt, and this coming from the guy in a state that just voted in an imbecile as governor just because she was "tea party" chosen.

Republicans only have to hold ship for another 2 years. Reduce the Democrats into a stalemate and drum up more angst against Obama. Then another round of Democrat senators lose their jobs and (as much as I don`t like it) more than likely we will have Palin as the president. They are propping her up in the media to make her a celebrity. Reality show to humanize her + idea of first woman president + really dumb voters = Palin victory.

America is doomed, but I figured that out back when Bieber first became popular.

It is a fact that Conservatives donate more of their personal time and money than Liberals. click here
    --------from the article ---------------
Liberals show tremendous compassion in pushing for generous government spending to help the neediest people at home and abroad. Yet when it comes to individual contributions to charitable causes, liberals are cheapskates.....Conservatives also appear to be more generous than liberals in nonfinancial ways. People in red states are considerably more likely to volunteer for good causes, and conservatives give blood more often. If liberals and moderates gave blood as often as conservatives, Mr. Brooks said, the American blood supply would increase by 45 percent.
