skullgrin wins museike since you want to say you being a keeper makes you able to do this pretty much says you can jump at a shot going at the upper v and you directionally block it to one of your teammates. congrats if you are able to do that and if we had a soccer play up then this whole thread switches sides. o oh oscola you should say anything about any sport and how impressive or unimpressive it is.. doesn`t look like you got a whole lot of personal experience

Sounds like someone in an American sport had to think at more than 2mph for once and everyone goes crazy. Kudos to that man, that brainy fast-ish thinking man.

To the people watching this video and wondering why it`s such a good play, when keepers and rugby players do it "all the time," consider this:

Brown, who deflected the pass, had the presence of mind to jump in the air before stepping out of bounds, see his teammate nearby, and hit the ball straight to his teammate, all in less than a second. Not only that, Lewis, his teammate, saw that the ball was coming his way, realized that the ball was still alive and in play, caught the ball, and ran around the opposing player in the same amount of time.

THAT`S what makes this play and the game so exciting: Not just the physical prowess, but the incredible concentration and instantaneous calculations the players are able to make on a daily basis.

@Premierwondr

Wow, do the Americans here realize that they are the only ones impressed by the video?
Get the drat over yourself, you`re starting to bring the American stereotype of an easily angered, pumped up xenophobic little poo with poor literacy skills to a whole-nother (what the hell is "nother"?) level.
You`re gay btw

LOL why did everyone get so pissy all of a sudden?

And why do you all feel that I have to be impressed by this? Just because it doesn`t impress me it doesn`t mean that I am trying to undermine your sport.

Meh, who cares if they Europeans are getting pissed about the video. They bash us for calling their `football` soccer, when the name originated over there. What does that tell you?

Get the drat over yourselves. You`re bringing the stereotype of European arrogance to a whole-nother level.

EntrE- Ever try catching a football? It isn`t that easy. Its shape, how fast it`s moving and the hardness of the football makes it pretty hard to grab and hold on too when its it flight. You also have to catch it right or you will drop it or hurt your fingers/hands so this is a really impressive play for this sport.

Entre, I`d love to see you catch one of those passes. If you had ANY idea how fast they are moving and how hard you wouldn`t say how unimpressed you are. It`s like a bullet going at your chest. Most people would drop a pass that fast. Even I had some difficulty catching the ball from a good QB, but I was a lineman. And they weren`t pro status.

Very nice, you are not out of bounds until you touch the ground out of bounds, I bet he played basketball in high school, because that is a classic basketball play. Too bad Oklahoma State couldn`t hang on to win the game.

@zlatan
really goalkeepers don`t do anything but this. idk why that is but in american football everybody acts all impressed when somebody catches the ball. What I find rather impressive is the accuracy at which quarterbacks can throw their passes, but a catch? meh...

Yeah the Rugby/ American football argument is played out. That poo was awesome and you know it. I`ve played both sports, Rugby is a rough sport which heavily relies on endurance, but I can tell you right now that American football is harder and way more dangerous. Rugby`s better than hockey, I`ll give you that, but You really don`t get many chances to go full out in rugby...too fast paced. Once someone tries to leave the ruck, they`re tackled and the ball`s on the ground. either that or our english coaches didn`t know what they were doing. Pads don`t make hits in football any less dangerous. In fact, they allow the athletes to go full-out with thick, hard, plastic weapons on their shoulders and head. plus, each play they have room to build up to speed for a hard hit. anyone who doubts this hasn`t played a lick of American football.

@10bears

In American Football, the ball and the player are not out of bounds until they touch the ground over the line. If he had touched the ground then it would have been out of bounds. If the ball had fallen to the ground, then it would have been out of bounds. The fact he managed to knock the ball back into play, to a team-mate as well, is pretty cool.

Yeah... just a guy jumping 2 feet in the air sideways to bat a ball down that`s about 8 feet up in the air and 3 feet away from being in bounds... nothing to see here.

Nice!

And don`t mind the rugby flamers, Americans. Even as a Euro-peon, I`ve played a lot of both sports, and American Football is f*cking BRUTAL compared to rugby. Both are tough sports, but any rugby fans who tell you that "American Football is gay because they all wear sissy pads", has never played American Football, I assure you. The pads are there for a reason...
